  20. Top 10 Seether Rock Songs..... Seether is a South-African rock band from Johannesburg, formed in 1999. The band is currently signed to Wind-up Records. Originally named Saron Gas and signed to Musketeer Records in South Africa, they changed their name in 2002, coinciding with the release of their second album and major label debut, Disclaimer. To date they have sold 5 million albums worldwide. Number 10 - Seether Gasoline The music video for the song features the band performing in a darkened space and a girl in her bedroom surrounded by fashion magazines and cosmetics. As the video progresses, the girl is shown using the cosmetics in an attempt to cover words that are scrawled on her face such as "liar" and "hypocrite." As the song reaches the bridge and final chorus, it is revealed that the band had been performing behind the mirror as singer Shaun Morgan busts through it, knocking over a candle and setting fire to her magazines. Morgan later recalled on the Disclaimer II DVD that the video didn't turn out the way he had intended and that certain shots, such as Morgan appearing as an apparition on the girl's bed as she attempted to cover her face, were interpreted incorrectly by the video's director. Number 9 - Seether Breakdown (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces) "Breakdown" is the third track and the third single from Seether's third album, Finding Beauty In Negative Spaces. Shaun Morgan has stated that the song is not about former girlfriend Amy Lee, but references a more recent relationship. To further the point, Morgan has been quoted saying "Amy and I, at our worst moments, were still better than this last girl and I at our best moments".[1] The song was released to radio in the middle of August 2008 and quickly became one of the most added singles to active rock radio at the time. Number 8 - Seether The Gift (Disclaimer 2) The music video was written and directed by Meiert Avis. The song is about a man who kills a young girl in a car crash in Southern Mexico. Each year, on The Day of the Dead, he visits her cross on the side of the road where she died, he sleeps next to her cross that night. Meanwhile the ghost of little girl goes into town with a Cuandera to visit her family, father (who beat her) and sister, who the man was going out with. As he is driving to her cross, he sees her walking on the side of the road. The little girl ghost leaves candy skulls on the man's bed – representing the forgiveness she gives him. The "Gift" is the life he took, and the forgiveness she gives him. The story is punctuated with shots of the band playing the song in a darkened room illuminated only by bare hanging lightbulbs. Number 7 - Seether Rise Above The (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces) "Rise Above This" is the second single from Seether's album Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. It is the sixth track on the album and became the band's second consective number-one song on the U.S. Modern Rock chart. Seether's vocalist Shaun Morgan has stated that the song is about his late brother, Eugene Welgemoed, and was written before his suicide. "Rise Above This" was written to bring Eugene out of a depression. Number 6 - Seether Feat Amy Lee Broken (Disclaimer) "Broken" is a song by post-grunge band Seether with Amy Lee of Evanescence. The original acoustic version is the 12th track on Seether's debut album Disclaimer. It was then re-recorded with Amy Lee, the future girlfriend of Seether vocalist Shaun Morgan, for The Punisher: The Album in March 2004. This version includes electric guitar and violins. This song peaked at number 20 on the Billboard Hot 100 and at number 3 on the ARIA singles chart. It was certified gold by the RIAA. Number 5 - Seether Walk Away From The Sun (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces) Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces is the fourth studio album by South African post-grunge band Seether. The album was released in South Africa on October 19, 2007, and released worldwide on October 23, 2007. The cover artwork was designed by David Ho, the same artist who designed the Vicious Delicious cover for Infected Mushroom. The covers apparently display the same character: Candice the Ghost. [1] In support of the album, the band has toured with Three Days Grace, Finger Eleven, Breaking Benjamin, 3 Doors Down, Skillet, Red, Papa Roach, Flyleaf, Econoline Crush, Nickelback, and Staind. Three singles, "Fake It", "Rise Above This", and "Breakdown" have been released from the album with all three being top 10 singles, the former two reaching the top position on several Billboard charts. As of June 11th, 2009 the album has sold 750,562 copies. The album was reissued in 2009, featuring a fourth single, the George Michael cover of "Careless Whisper", the final single from the album. Number 4 Seether f*** It (Disclaimer) Disclaimer is the major label debut album by post-grunge band Seether, released in 2002. The album was remastered and remixed slightly in 2004 as Disclaimer II with eight extra tracks. The album had ten different cover variations.[1] These feature images from the "Fine Again" music video with people holding signs depicting a negative outlook or a poor situation in life.[citation needed] "Fine Again" "Driven Under", and "Gasoline" were released as singles from the album. The band revealed during their interview for One Cold Night that they originally intended to release "Sympathetic" as a single but for a variety of reasons, the release was dropped in favor of continued touring and a release of Disclaimer II.[ Number 3 Seether - Fine Again (Diclaimer) "Fine Again" is the American debut single by post grunge band Seether and was also later included on the 5 Songs EP. It is the third track on their album Disclaimer. It was re-released in the album Disclaimer II. The music video for the song features the band playing on a soundstage while three walls behind them display filmstrip slides of people holding opaque rectangles with phrases depicting their inner feelings on them. Some of the photos used in the video were also used as cover art for various "versions" of the album. During live shows, Shaun Morgan has been known to dedicate the song to Dave Williams of Drowning Pool as well as Dimebag Darrell. "Fine Again" was featured on the 2003 video game Madden 2003, as well as Nintendo's 1080° Avalanche. Number 2 Seether - Careless Whisper (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces Re-Release) "Careless Whisper" is a 1984 single by George Michael (credited to Wham! featuring George Michael in the USA), released by Epic Records in the UK, Japan, and other countries; and by Columbia Records in North America. The song was George Michael's first solo single although he was still performing in Wham! at the time (the song is included on Wham!'s album Make it Big). The song features a saxophone riff, and has been covered by a number of artists since its first release. It was released as a single and became a huge commercial success on both sides of the Atlantic. It reached number one in nearly 25 countries, selling about six million copies worldwide. Number 1 Seether - Fake It (Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces) "Fake It" is the first single from Seether's album Finding Beauty in Negative Spaces. The single quickly rose to number one on both the Billboard Hot Mainstream Rock Tracks and Hot Modern Rock Tracks charts. It also reached number 56 on the Billboard Hot 100, the second highest of their singles after "Broken", which reached number 20. The single was certified platinum by the RIAA.
