As accurate as HDD always are these are not the official numbers, Billboard will have the official numbers by tomorrow so it could have sold more, or less. I personally hope Britney/Eminem hold the record, though. Regardless she breaks or not the record, those figures on this sales climate is more than impressive an achievement for Taylor, and also I believe she must hold some sort of record for having 3 albums exceeding the million mark on the opening week. I think she's still pressed that Artpop's sales/hype never lived up to her expectations. She was expecting huge things for it with all that "it's my best work to date and a form of art" bullshit and she thought the media was going to be all over it and it failed. It doesn't surprise me, though. She's immensely talented but relied too much on gimmicks to stay relevant, instead of focusing on delivering a great pop album, and the media and the public fell for that for the first two albums (both of which also resulted in great music) but were done already by the third (which didn't particularly deliver anything new or game-changing). Now it seems safe to play the "I'm leaving the pop world and I'm doing this classy music now cause I'm an artist" card.
