Predicta: Avicii - The Days
Random question! But does anyone know what actually happened to this song!? Can't seem to find it on iTunes at all, can't seem of find any news of its release being delayed or cancelled...all I can see is its sister track 'the nights' is doing well on iTunes. Did it just flop??

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
I've warmed to him a lot, at the time he was so over-hyped that I (probably unfairly) disliked him. Now he seems to be quite chilled out with his decline in fame, and has carved out a decent theatre/musical career for himself.

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
I'd expect them to slip back further as downloads take over. I can't imagine either song picks up many 'catalogue' sales. Will Young even publicly hates 'Evergreen' and rarely performs it.

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
Its cringe worthy, but oddly I think this was the shows best year. Even the ones who left early can hold a tune.

At least Scott Mills has admitted the error!

Ruth Lorenzo isn't on this XFactor charity song though is she??

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
Its another song that was performed live on the XFactor and got a sales boost in the busiest sales period of the year. I agree it was nothing more than a average hit.

Amazing song, the beat still sounds cool and fresh all these years on...sign of a classic record.

Such a shame that Joe doesn't have that star appeal to be a pop star, his voice is pretty much a perfect 'recording voice'

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
Yes, a lot of people don't seem to remember the song. I bet if you did a random poll and asked people which All Saints song would be on this list, nearly all would say Never Ever and struggle for a 2nd song to name.

All Saints: Pure Shores, a very underrated song, ahead of its time IMO.

I love Teenage Dirtbag! really takes you back to the very early 00's and all the 'teen' movies like American Pie, and the pop/punk American bands. The fact that American Pie now had a reunion film out makes me feel very old indeed.

Its far too cold and grey outside for California Gurls, this song was made for summer BBQ's!

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
Victoria Beckham once allegedly sang it at Jordan at Old Trafford, back at the height of the trashy WAG-wars.

Top 150 Best Selling singles of the 21st Century
the big issue with this countdown is how single sales died in the mid 00's and as a result we are going to see a lot of songs from the last 4 or so years dominating. I like 'Earthquake' but there is no way it is a bigger hit than James Blunt's 'Your Beautiful' which was no1 for weeks and massive all over the world.

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (Part III)
Indeed, every pub I went in last night had 'Good Feeling' or 'Levels' on, along with LMFAO, Moves Like Jagger, We Found Love, Yeah 3X and all the other 'club bangers' from this year. So its no surprise to see them all getting a boost on iTunes now. always does amaze me that there are still people who haven't bought huge selling songs like Moves Like Jagger though, its like they've missed the 6months of heavy airplay and being iTunes top 10 and only heard the song for the first time last night!

Why? it hasn't been around for that long has it?

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (I)
According the TV Guide they were meant to be performing Charlie Brown on Graham Norton, but instead they did Paradise (no doubt due to its recent re-surgence) I would imagine they will do Paradise on XFactor too, maybe as a medley with Every Teardrop (as per the CIN concert) great to see such a good song getting belated sucess, it should have been top10 ages ago.

iTunes Chart: December 2011 (I)
Why is Coldplay's Paradise making a surge up the iTunes chart when it has been out for weeks? don't get me wrong I love the song, but they are about to move on and promote 'Charlie Brown' so this late surge seems random. Has it been used on a popular TV show this week or anything?

R1 average listener now 32
Radio1 has the big advantage of not having to play adverts, yet they waste this advantage by having their presenters drone on and on instead of playing music. I can drive all the way to work and listen to only 1 song on Chris Moyles, as they are busy having dull quizzes, 'banter' and newsbeat. I appreciated that on Breakfast shows in particularly they expect the presenter to inject a bit of personality in to the show, but there surely has to be a better mix of music and chatter? Overall though (as others have already pointed out) Radio1 will be suffering from the fact that young kids now have iPod's, Mobiles and iPad's to be able to listen to music on, so it is no surprise that the average listening age is creeping up...

Poll : Coldplay - Mylo Xyloto
250K, their festival appearances went down really well this summer and they seem to have converted some previous doubters into fans. the album is also getting good reviews from the press.

YTD Airplay - Radio & TV + Airplay Mids
Based on airplay you'd have to put 'Cee Lo Green – Bright Lights, Bigger City' as the flop of the year so far. Big airplay, the airplay no1 for 2 weeks and it still only got to number 13. Maybe people had already bought the album...but for whatever reason it just never caught fire.

Double-A Sides
Interesting how some songs were 'wasted' as the 2nd side of the double A Side. Its Only Us and The Road To Mandalay would have been top 10's on their own for Robbie Williams and 3AM was one of Busted's better (and Rockier) efforts.

Who Has/Will Flop This Year
IMO Matt Cardle should be aiming for music in the style of a 'one man' Bon Jovi but brought right up to date. The kind of big rock power ballads very few are releasing now...those big sing-a-long numbers that people go wild for when they are drunk and/or at a live gig. His version of "When Love Takes Over" on the XFactor was a good example of doing a song in a Power Ballad style and bringing it right up to date.
