  1. I'm wondering if anybody else sitting without a review wants to swap? It's a lot more fun to make a cd if you actually get some feedback on it.

I've awaited that cave scene very eagerly, Oh my is she a fox. Overall my favourite episode of the season so far, interesting plot developments all over, especially the struggle for Sansa is interesting and will continue to be so for a few more weeks I predict. Furthermore it's impossible not to commend what an excellent father Tywin is, and how amazingly Charles Dance fits into that role.
  3. Have I miscounted or have quite a lot of participants gone over time with the reviews in this rendition?
  4. A few people will have to hurry up with their reviews soon, deadline is tomorrow.
  5. What Are You Like I rate songs on a scale of 1 to 4, with 1 being songs I won't listen to after this post has been made, 2 being decent songs that will likely feature slightly in my rotation but fade out, 3's are good songs that I will listen to for a long time, and 4 is for favourites. 1 - Really great intro. Excellent pop song, although it's in English I'd hazard a guess and say Swedish singer, in part because the singer reminds me the tinyest bit of Robyn.. 3/4 2 - More pop with female lead vocal, this one is quite decent too, a bit more electronic and possibly slightly danceable. A good song, although it will probably fall out of my rotation at some point. 2/4 3 - Yet more female vocal indie-electro pop, this one is quite catchy and good as well. 2/4 4 - More pop, this time a bit more pompous and less electronic, and with a mix of male and female vocal. Interesting song, that I will likely tire of quickly though. 2/4. 5 - My favourite of the album, recognized it as Bastille fairly quickly. It seems to some sort of cover of Rhythm of the Night, and a rather good one. Go give it a listen. 4/4 6 - Straightforward and slightly up tempo female pop. It's decent, but won't get many plays I reckon. 1-2 / 4. 7 - Reminds me of "Ai Se Eu Te Pego", not a positive thing. -9 out of 4. 8 - Decent straight forward male lead pop song. 2/4 9 - Swedish pop song with female lead, very fine song actually. 2-3 / 4 10 - Very poppy pop song, female lead again, goes on about buying a Golden Retriever. I can see why it has a certain charm, it's not really in my taste though. 1/2 11 - More female pop, slightly more alternative this time and less light in its mood. I'm gonna make a wild punt and claim it's called Original Love 1-2 / 4 12 - Wupti more female pop, very low-key, and once again I can see a certain charm to the track, but it's not something I'm gonna find myself listening to. 1 / 2 13 - More female lead pop, I get the impression this song and perhaps even more the previous two, could be quite a few years old, as they don't really follow the modern sound. 2/4 14 - Back to male lead, a sort of low-key and oldfashioned pop song, not bad at all. 2-3 / 4 15 - Very sugary duet with 2 artists I don't recognize, it's pretty good, although perhaps a bit too sugary for my taste. 1-2 / 4 16 - Once again we return to poppy pop music with female lead, and as usual, it's really good yet not something that's likely to remain in my rotation for too long. 2/4 17 - Sounds like a 90's pop song, likely some female pop group, although I'm not sure I recognize the artist behind, I may do when I see the tracklist though. 1-2 / 4 18 - Another 90's/early naughties pop song, reminds me a bit of Faith Hill or similar based on sound and composition. I suppose given the type of song it's not bad, but a bit too repetitive for my taste. 1-2 / 4 19 - You probably hadn't guessed it, but it's another pop song (poprock possibly). Very dramatic sound, I may recognize the artist when I hear the name. Bonus points for a pretty nifty guitar solo. 2 / 4. 20 - Continues the dramatic style from the previous track, which I absolutely love as the ending of the album. This time it's possibly even more dramatic and a bit pompous. I like it, but it will probably quickly fade from my rotation. 2 / 4 Overall the music is really not my genre, I think a pop connoisseur would love the album however. Even though it's not my style, a few of the songs have caught on and overall it's been a very pleasant listening experience. I was initially somewhat at a loss as to who compiled the album, as I'm not aware of any Swedish participants. Instead I saw the Bastille song as a clue, as it is not on his newly released album, I assumed whoever included it must be a fan. As Gooddelta mentioned the song in the pop forum, my guess is that he made the album. (Which I dare say was almost confirmed when I took a look at his blog.) Overall rating 6/10
  6. I'd like that one Cal, if you could send me the link.
  7. Not mine, and I'll hazard a guess and say it's not Thomsen's either.
  8. I expect to have mine done by sunday.
  9. First reaction was that I didn't like it, but that was probably expected, it'll get more chances.
  10. It's possible to listen to the entire album at Pitchfork now. http://pitchfork.com/advance/62-shaking-the-habitual/
  11. I think the person who got mine is gonna be on the fence, but ultimately gonna end up liking it, I also have a fairly good hunch as to who sent the album I received.
  12. I have what I'm fairly certain is a Bastille cover of Rhytm of the Night on my album, surprisingly good actually.
  13. Holy #¤%! that's a fast review.
  14. Could be a decoy Eyes. Turns out my gifted album "What Are You Like" is poppy pop sprinkled with a bit more pop on top. Majority of upbeat female vocal tracks, not the type of music I listen to a lot normally, so should be interesting. Whoever gets mine could easily be able to guess it with a bit of research.
  15. Downloading 'What Are You Like' as we speak, let the listening commence.
  16. Mine is gonna be neither as long or as good as I had planned, will get it sent later tonight.

Saw this recently, started out slightly slow, but really is an incredibly good movie.

The ending was great, I really like the way they've developed Lily, amazing delivery at such age, and only makes sense that she'd be that way, given how her parents talk about people.
  21. I'm in, would prefer not to know who I'm making the cd for.
  22. Glad you liked it. Was worried it'd be too wellknown, and it probably was, but searches of the forum didn't reveal a whole lot of mentions and it has very few plays on youtube.
  23. I think it'd be a shame to take away the anonymity, as it really adds an extra edge, especially in guessing who sent yours. Furthermore I quite enjoyed receiving an album that was quite a bit away from my ordinary taste, and it has expanded my horizon a bit musically.
  24. Finally got my votes off, one of them is somewhat a guilty pleasure. Given the very low amount of listens (3) for the songs that didn't catch on immediately, I do fear I'll notice one or two late bloomers at some point, but so be it.
  25. Hoping to send my votes tonight.
