  1. January is by far the better option, look how it worked out for Issues. Ego will struggle to even go top 10 in the middle of Xmas and Xfactor fever, the max it'll probably get is #8 and it'll need to be the best-selling non-Xmas/Xfactor single of that week to even get to #8, it's very worrying TBH and a huge mistake. There's a 75% chance it'll miss the top 10 and be overlooked at its release date, where with a January release it'll be the complete opposite. The label is really f***ing things up for them.

I think Not Good Enough would make the ultimate 4th single and era closer. <3 It's the most stunning ballad I've ever heard! The lyrics bring me to tears and their vocals on it give me goosebumps, it absolutely has to be released! :o
  3. Oh, just noticed the song's back on up for a change on iTunes. A huge rebound Irish iTunes it's now #23 after being #53 just 2 days ago! Also #27 on UK iTunes! :cheer:
  4. Which makes you think how well If This Is Love would've done with the equal amount of radio support seeing it didn't even make it past the top 30 on the Airplay chart.

If they had a proper Christmas single that wasn't on the album it could have been huge and like JCGE they can then re-release the album with it on it which will regain the missing much needed interest and hype. And then they can release Ego in January and the era's success would have been safe.
  6. A bit better today, but still disappointing. I guess we have to start getting used to the freefalling now :(
  7. It's in the latest issue, they look absolutely gorgeous and the article is brilliant too. Definitely worth getting a copy, especially if your a fan of course. Some scans thanks to Lou from their official forum: http://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae177/lottielou86/th_SDC13392.jpghttp://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae177/lottielou86/th_SDC13400.jpghttp://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae177/lottielou86/th_SDC13402.jpghttp://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae177/lottielou86/th_SDC13402.jpghttp://i969.photobucket.com/albums/ae177/lottielou86/th_SDC13408.jpg
  8. "Girl Groups Have To Work Hard" http://images.digitalspy.co.uk/09/24/160x120_the_saturdays_01.jpg The Saturdays have said that girl groups have to work much harder than boybands in order to look good. The five piece, who released new album, "Wordshaker" last week, claimed that they are forced to spend longer time getting read than their male counterparts. "Being in a girl group is completely different to being in a boyband or rock group," Rochelle Wiseman told the Daily Record. "I think we work harder because we get in earlier to do make-up. There is the glam side of things. They can just turn up in whatever they want and still look cool. We're not always dressed up and we love to dress casually but there is a lot more work involved in being in a girl pop group because people are interested in the glamour - compared to being in a rock band, where you can just sing and go home." The star added that their busy promotional schedule means that they get very little time off. "Most of our time off is spent sleeping, seeing family and getting rest. We work really hard and we've had one week off in two years. Sometimes we're up at 5.45am and keep going until 1.30am the next day," Wiseman said. 9. I think they could just and hopefuly pull off a longer run than Get Sexy, which I completely agree is utter and definitely up with Untouchable as the two worst songs of the year! I'm confident that Ego will walk all over About A Girl though, it better! :P
  10. #27 UK iTunes #53 Irish iTunes #22 Today's Midweek
  11. FIO was #14 last week not #9 but great to see there's hope for another week in the top 20. :D

I'm so confused LOL. In Jack's update The Sats are #22 but on my feed they're #25! Now what's their actual position? :drama: Hopefuly the former!
  13. Well said, you took the words straight out my mouth! Completely agree with all the above, like I said its been extremely rushed, they should have waited till the 2nd or 3rd single before releasing the album and the 2nd single needs to come out in January and not December. The worst part of it all, is all the fault lies with the label and not the girls and if they were to get dropped from that I'd take a serious stand against it if I were them.

The Sats keep going in the wrong direction! :snif: Forever Is Over (the song of the year) really doesn't deserve to be that low in its 4th week of release, does anyone know where the album version is on iTunes? Hopefuly high enough to keep it top 15 in tomorrow's midweeks :magic:
  15. Indeed. Lady GaGa will probably also push it down to #24 by the looks of things now, ugh! :(
  16. #23 UK iTunes #43 Irish iTunes
  17. I think The Sats have established themselves very well from their debut alone, maybe they're not as established, but they're establishing and with four top 10 singles from a top 10 album does say something about how big of a fanbase they're getting, even the front-loaded Wordshaker sales prove this as well. I see the points you and Steve are making though, IMO I just don't see them being dropped so early, they're not exactly Leon Jackson-esque flop yet. They've done f***ing brilliantly in their debut and I doubt Ego will flop even if it is released in the Xmas/Xfactor rush. But I've said before and Steve also pointed it out, January would be FAR better. I think The Sats are still too new and their debut's been too good for them to be dropped if they don't comeback with strong album sales after Ego (which I highly highly doubt  ). Each era was started off with the wrong lead single, which is a fault the label made, not the girls, so the girls shouldn't take the fall for their label's mess-ups, because they've certainly done their part exceptionally, where the record label hasn't came close. I think they'd be wise enough to recognize that they were at fault and the girls can comeback well if they handle things smoothly instead of dropping them if they consider it if Wordshaker flops.
  18. Peak > Sales > Weeks On Chart for me. A good peak means great first week sales anyway but charting length is just a bonus actually. On paper it comes down to peaks and sales really.
  19. ^ I agree with you and FIO deserved to be their best peaking single so far in my eyes. But The Sats are very capable of having decent chart runs if you look at their previous era which is now disappointing if you look how FIO is holding up now comparison. Peaks mean more than chart runs for me but I'm just rooting consistant sales for it, it deserves to surpass 200k really and ATM I'm not quite sure if that's going to happen! :(
  20. Haha sorry, wouldn't visit that forum if it were the last on here. If there's 2 groups I can't stand its GA and the Sugas, The Sats are just THE girl group for me. I think I'd make a great mod as well but I don't know how you become one? Still a little new around here.
  21. Not a good on iTunes today I'm afraid. Now #22 on UK iTunes and #41 iTunes. :(
  22. Yay thanks Aled you're like a super-mod!
  23. Yeah, thanks. Just a pity my loong post regarding this topic is now in the other thread because this one was locked LOL.

It's not exactly a flop yet, its only been out 2 weeks! Even if last week's drop was really bad and floppy, it still did well in its opening week and it will comeback even better IMO after Ego is out. One bad week in sales doesn't make the album as a whole a flop. People are jumping to conclusions way too quickly on here! :o Seems like I'm the only one who has faith in it, and ironically I was one of few who had the same faith in CL this time last year.
  25. In response to Mushy in the other thread (I don't know why it was locked :/ its worthy thing to discuss about) You're very wrong IMO. If you look at the album falls this week: 12 1 2 Editors In This Light & On This Evening 14 3 5 Madonna Celebration 26 7 4 Barbra Streisand Love Is The Answer 28 4 2 Shakira She Wolf 34 14 2 Taio Cruz Rokstarr 40 9 2 The Saturdays Wordshaker Not only The Sats freefalled, so does that mean it's the end of Editors/Madonna/Shakira ect as well? And it's a result of a high trend in front-loaded sales, the album hasn't been marketed much also - their core fans only bought in the first week. Their other markets will only start buying after the second or third single is out like they did with Chasing Lights which also freefalled fast but recovered, which is going to happen with Ego and when the other singles are out. It's a brilliant alnum, it's not a Catfights & Spotlights which deservedly floppeed and the second single couldn't save it either because it was as equally awful as the album was. Ego is not a No Can Do, it's the obvious "Up" of this era. The album will comeback, anyone whose clued up on the album's quality and how the album sales pattern is ATM will agree with me. There is plenty of major hit-single material left on the album as well. I think you're just going a bit too ahead of yourself and jumping to conclusions which people jumped to when CL fell in a similar pattern. As Steve said, Little Boots also saved her album with her second single as an example. So, The Sats will have anything but problems when Ego (and I'm not being optimistic, it's blatently obviuous  ), they are definitely not over. They're the in and future of girl groups in the UK. Based on your conclusions the Sugababes should've been "game over" as well after C&S but they're not and the Sats are not that far behind the Sugas in terms of popularity and their fan bases keeps growing bigger if you look at Chasing Lights chart run it'll substantiate this, they dropped out of the top 75 within 4 weeks! And came back against all the odds that they were up against if its anyone who knows how to comeback commercially it's the Sats! :D
