  1. Even if Madonna is not a big hit as a single, I'm hoping it could help the album sales. Geraldine, I've had the same thought that because of the PSB-link the press could say he's trying desperately. But they could turn anything into a negative, if he didn't release singles anymore they would say he's given up, so I guess it doesn't matter. If they want to bash him they'll always find something. :arrr:
  2. I'm quite happy with how the album is doing in my homecountry Austria. Still no. 2 in its third week. So far it was 1- 2- 2
  3. Oh well, it will be a chart flop but at last the clubbers like it. Don't find that very comforting. To be honest I'm shocked about the dowloads success of TT. I never doubted they would do well with the physical release, but I didn't think that their fans were the download type- unless they have won over that generation now as well. -_- I guess we always knew that the RW fanbase (if it's still there  ) is not really keen on downloading. Thanks for the chart update, Dory. Maybe I shouldn't have asked. :puke2: Still, I'm glad JT won't get a 2nd no.1 single. Bad enough that he charts so much better than Rob. :(
  4. :o :yahoo: Maybe I shouldn't get too excited as long as it's not official but it would just be ace. She's Madonna becoming a single and Rob actually performing it live, for the first time in a long time he'd be doing exactly what I want him to do.  I guess Scotty will be over the moon with those news, he took the Bongo Bong rumour really badly as did I. :puke2: I'm praying the information is accurate. I'd be furious if it turned out not to be and we'll get Bongo Bong after all...
  5. I guess that's radio airplay, right ? Nice one. If it was the other way round, I'd lose faith completely. That new JT single certainly isn't something for the radio, if you ask me. Shame only he will get a better charts position than Rob. <_< BTW, who's on course for no. 1 ? I'd really prefer anyone to JT having a 2nd no. 1 single (even *whisper* Westlife, sorry Scotty :o  )
  6. Is there any show that TT are NOT on... ? I've often envied you UK folks in times when Rob was on TV a lot. Right now I'm really glad I don't have any British channels, I think it would make me sick. :puke2: I had that thought about the Rolling Stones too. I wasn't sure about how much they really sold, but I always got the impression that it wasn't a lot lately. Yet when they tour there's always a mega hype. I guess it's kind of good knowing that the "fans" (not sure the term applies to the likes that Jackie told us about) are still out there, but still it's annoying to know that they have not bought or have no intention of buying the album or singles. Because that's just what Rob's success is measured by, just like any other music artist, fair enough. As much as I hate it, but could you really blame the press for saying his fans have run off. Because that's just what it looks like when one looks at the charts. -_-
  7. No, it really can't. What a humiliation. :puke2: Lovelight only being at 8 is bad enough (and who knows, it might be lower at the end of the week) but TT being ahead on downloads only, that's just too much too take. Although I was already expecting it and now it's like my worst nightmare coming true. I wouldn't mind so much about Lovelight not doing well if at least the album was a huge success, but if we're honest that's not really the case either. Last year Advertising Space only got to no. 8 too but at least IC had sold really well at that point. It's like jackie said, where has his large fanbase gone... ? Is it all because of that one Rudebox song, is that the reason why he is being let down like this ?
  8. According to a member of purerobbie Lovelight is at no. 8 in the UK midweeks :( Not what we were hoping for, but personally I said I'd be glad if it made it into the Top 10. My expectations have become pretty low. I guess it will give the press another opportunity to scream flop... :puke2: :arrr:
  9. Don't really find that funny. I guess it's not 3 million but probably the sales figures would look slightly better if CD WOW orders counted towards the charts. <_< Wow, a TV ad. I bet that was the first and last time they played it.
  10. I think that's probably best, at least that way we know for certain it will count to the charts. jups, of course you are excused if you can't get the single anywhere nearby. :D Geraldine's post is sad but true I'm afraid. :( At the moment Rob has neither good promotion going for him nor supportive fans, or at last not enough of them. I wonder if they are still out there just NOT buying his records or if many have left the RW fan world completely. Either way, it's just really sad. To be honest, I never expected this to happen, maybe I was being naive thinking the RW fan base would always stay strong and supportive. -_-
  11. We know there won't be any promo before Xmas because of the Australian tour leg. And I'm pretty sure he will have time off in January. I'm wondering if we will get to see him somewhere on the telly after that, doing some serious promotion. I guess it's possible, but we just don't know anything about plans for 2007 yet which I find scary anyway. I mean last year we knew there was going to be the tour and this year it's a bit like ... I don't like that at all. Rob, we know the world tour is not finished and you deserve a break but could you please get your ass over to Europe in the new year, get those Rudebox songs out there and make everyone realise that it is an amazing album ! -_- If only he listened to auntie monsoon...
  12. Brilliant. The complete opposite of Rob's promotion then which is almost non-existent. I've had it up to here. :arrr: Does anyone have an email adress of either Rob's management or EMI (UK - bcause they seem to be doing the worst job of all) where one could write to complain ? I suppose it won't have much of an effect (unless maybe hundreds do the same) but maybe it would make me feel a bit better.
  13. I've just had a terrifying thought. Could it be that TT will beat Rob in this week's chart on downloads only ? They will go to no. 1 the following week anyway, the press will already be gloating enough about their single bing no. 1 and Rob's not, but TT being ahead of Rob based on downloads would just be TOO much  :puke2: If anyone on here is considering downloading the single, could they please wait until next week - for Rob, please...
  14. Christina Aguilera's new one is out this week as well ? I'll say no more <_< To be honest, I'm sort of glad Lovelight charted on downloads at all. Of course I'm not happy with Akon and JT being ahead but it's not like it's a big surprise. -_- If you're in the UK, get as many RW fans as you know to buy the single or download it. Em, wait a minute- isn't that EMI's job ... ?
  15. oi, no. 9.... The fact that there were 7 new entries helps a bit I guess, but still  I'm really worried that it will be out of the Top 10 next week and will drop into nowhere pretty soon :puke2:
  16. Wouldn't surprise me. Fans like us who don't use the internet regularly might have no idea about it. -_-
  17. Going to get my DVD tomorrow, can't wait. :yahoo: I'm wondering how long it would take to watch the whole thing in one go...? I think I won't have time for that tomorrow, I'll just watch the few bits that I've never seen before, really looking forward to that. If we assume that the big RW fanbase is still out there but many reject the new style and only want "the old Robbie", then this DVD should be selling better than the Rudebox album. Just a thought.
  18. What, Eminem & Akon is out in the same week too ? Oh, what a good week EMI has chosen again, brilliant timing... <_< I think I read somewhere that Emma Bunton's charity single is out on the 20th, wasn't that listed in the same week as Lovelight as well once ? Well, I guess it doesn't really matter, Lovelight won't be no. 1 anyway. I just hope it won't be JT at the top spot, so I'm going for Eminem&Akon as well. Anyone knows how Lovelight is faring in the downloads, I guess it's nowhere near the Top 10 right... ? I'm getting really worried about the final charts position, I mean in a way I could understand why a track like Rudebox would flop but Lovelight is such an amazing song - it would deserve to get into the Top 5 at least and Rob would would deserve it of course. But sometimes I'm even scared it won't make the Top 10... Is it still getting airplay on the UK music channels ? I remember when the video was just out, everyone said it was getting loads of airplay - well, we would need that now. Just nothing's going right these days... -_-
  19. Guess what, Rudebox is still at no. 1 in Germany. I'm not as sure as last year that Rob will win an Echo Award (which goes to the best-selling artists) but I think he's got a chance. Timberlake was pretty successful in the single charts but his album never made it to no. 1 in Germany. We'll see...
  20. Well, even if Vicky made it up, at last it's more of a positive article again while the 3am girls either make up nasty stuff or repeat the same old sermon over and over again in their articles... :puke2: I don't think Rob & Kylie will spend Xmas together, but I'm hoping for her to do an appearance on Rob's stage :)
  21. It's extremely frustrating that the UK reports don't focus on Rob's achievement enough, but it doesn't surprise me. It just doesnt fit into their current theme of telling everybody how Rob's career is on the wane...
  22. Brilliant news UK acts dominate album sales list (bbc.co.uk/news) Robbie Williams took three Platinum Adwards in 2006 British acts have so far dominated the European album market in 2006, according to industry figures. Artists such as The Kooks, Sugababes and Katie Melua have scooped 19 of the year's 36 IFPI Platinum Awards for selling one million copies or more. The top performer was Robbie Williams who took three awards, including one for his latest album, Rudebox, which sold two million copies in one week. The US had 12 acts on the list, including UK-signed Scissor Sisters. The British Phonographic Institute (BPI) said the results underlined the current boom in new British music. Six of the 19 UK Platinum Award winners are 2006 releases. Euro Top Sellers 1. Robbie Williams - Greatest Hits - 5m 2. James Blunt - Back to Bedlam - 5m 3. Robbie Williams - Intensive Care - 5m 4. Coldplay - X&Y - 4m 5. Madonna - Confessions on a Dancefloor - 4m BPI Chairman Peter Jamieson said: "These latest figures confirm that we are going through a golden age for new British music, even by our own high standards. "The success UK music is enjoying today bodes well for future years because, as ever in music, it's the hits of today which pay for the hits of tomorrow." He also said the UK's haul of Platinum Awards for 2006 is likely to go even higher when releases by Arctic Monkeys, Snow Patrol, Corinne Bailey Rae, Keane and Razorlight are finally calculated. A Platinum Award is given for any album which exceeds one million sales, or a multiple thereof, within the given period. :cheer: :yahoo:
  23. This is defenitely in the right place susie. If that's not nasty I don't know what is. :arrr: :puke2:
