Rudebox - #1 album in Europe for 3rd week
Dory, I think it was already certain that there wouldn't be a physical release of the Rudebox album in the US. Probably they would change their minds if the album got a lot higher on the download charts, who knows. no. 16 is really not that bad considering he is almost unknown in the US, would be nice if it made it into the top 10.

October 2006 News
Nigel :arrr: :puke2: What the man doesn't get is that Rob probably wants an apology too for being treated like s**t for 5 years, but unfortunately he can't sue him for that.

October 2006 News
Aaaaww, we all love each other again. No honestly, it's kinda nice, Gary I mean. And obviously its good to see that Vicky acknowledges that the first sales figures for the album are a success - unlike showbiz columnists from a certain other tabloid... I'm not even going to read the article by you-know-who (just heard it existed), they are a complete joke anway

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
What a b****y relief ! :yahoo: That's fantastic news, I'm well pleased. Typical that the press have to mention sales are much lower than IC's in its first week, but who cares. Rob will have another no. 1 album which counts most to me right now, and a big F*** YOU to all the haters. :P I'm still hoping Rob will do some sort of gig where he plays material from the new album live, I think that could help boosting sales. And of course some decent promo, but I'm afraid if we rely on EMI for that we will be let down -_- Let's hope word will spread what an amazing album this is. Go Rudebox ! :cheer:

Lovelight - Released Nov 13th
I'm not sure fans are aware that it is already on itunes, because it is pretty early. If the video made it to no. 1 on their chart the song itself should at last make it into the top 10 - one should think, but the RW world has changed I'm afraid, so I'm not sure of anything anymore -_-

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
I'm a bit confused after reading this article. Is this tram in Germany or in Switzerland or both? At first it says "German fans", but the only city mentioned is Zurich, which is defenitely in Switzerland. Anyway, it seems there is more promo everywhere compared to the UK which is both sad and shocking. Really dunno what those EMI people are thinking. <_<

Take That
 That's exactly what my mum said when she first heard it. She was like "that bit is totally annoying" and I can only agree. About all the rubbish from the press: I really can't say I like it, you all know how I feel about it, but in a way it is logical. Rob has been around ever since TT left and has done very well, now the general public is probably pretty fed up with him (I think it wouldn't be much different without the Rudebox album and the new style) and everyone loves TT who were gone for 10 years and it's like F*** off, Robbie, we hate you now." Sad but true I think. I also think the British will only learn to appreciate Rob again if he retreats completely for a few years. Maybe then people will realize that there will never be anyone like him and that they should be proud of having him. -_-

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Oh. Do you think we will get news about sales figues tomorrow or will it be Wednesday ? I want it to get over and done with.

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
  jups and Scotty, you should get Linz' computer, I prefer what that says

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
BTW, what is no. 1 on Amazon UK then ...? Anything that's out in the same week as Rudebox ? What was the best selling album this year so far, was it the Scissor Sisters? How much did they sell ? Not that I'm execting Robbie to top that, not this time... and not with the press he is getting. <_<

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Just had good news from my Sunday paper. It says after first sales the trend shows that Rudebox is set for no.1 in Austria's album charts. We're not really a big or very important music market but it's nice to know that the Rudebox album is doing well in my homecountry. :D I'd easily swap it for a no. 1 in the UK though. -_- I agree with Scotty. Think there will be many countries where the album will be more successful than in the UK. If you say all of Rob's previous albums were no. 1 on Amazon before the release and now Rudebox is not things don't look too good. BTW, what else is out this week (apart from the PSB's album) ? And how is the competition from albums that are already in the charts ?

3rd Single
I'm going for She's Madonna. A lot of people said that it's not really anything special as one would think after the paises it got but at least no one dislikes it. And many love it, including myself. Besides it's radio friendly unlike other album tracks plus there is a chance that Madonna might do a cameo in the video, that would do no harm. Could get the single loads of publicity and maybe some Madonna fans might buy it too (especially if the CD includes the video). I don't think he should release any rap songs.

Lovelight - Released Nov 13th
Not bad, is it ? Let's hope it will make the Top 10 soon. Or would that be too early at this point and not good for the charts position when it's physically released? See, I still haven't grasped those download rules, I won't even pretend I did

Rudebox, the album: The reviews
Thanks Linz, good to get another nice one. So the score is not looking bad. Too bad though that there are still so many articles floating around all carrying the same annoying line "RW, whose album Rudebox has been panned by the critics..." Wants to make me :puke2: Get real you ignorant journalists, it is getting brilliant reviews as well and that by the likes of NME and Musicweek -_-
-
Rudebox, the album: The reviews
As long as someone is copying a good review I don't mind  They better not take anything from the Guardian or Independent though <_< Yes, the reviews are pretty mixed. Trying to sum this up (papers or magazines only) Q, Guardian, Independent, Mirror Mojo, Music Week, NME, Times, Daily Express , Star  Sun (Vicky gave it a good review but the one from yesterday's edition wasn't so positive) Did I get this right ? Hope so, because then the score would be 6-4 for the positive reviews

Oh, that's a bit of a surprise that it's already on itunes. Not sure if this is good. -_-

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Funny, really. In those articles about the problems with the 90s it always said if the album had to be delayed that would be a huge problem because a lot of money had already been invested in a "massive international promotion campaign" ... WHERE IS IT NOW ??? But it seems that EMI UK is doing the worst work here. I have to say that in Austria and Germany there are loads of ads, mainly in newspapers and RTL (one of Germany's biggest TV channels) has an ad, so I can't really complain there. It was the same with the Rudebox single. Scotty, hope you'll still have a roof over your head by next week   I hate to say it but right now I'm not sure of anything. :puke2: Even if the album makes it to no. 1 (crossing everything that I've got) they will compare his sales to his previous standards and I bet if they are not anywhere near 300k the press will scream "FLOP". Today's Sun has a short article about the MTV Latin Awards and in the end it says something like in a week we'll know how the Rudebox album has done in the charts. Sounds like they can't wait for him to fail. :arrr:

Rudebox, the album: The reviews
Those latest reviews ... I wouldn't really worry about if we could rely on loads of people buying the album, but this time I'm not so sure about that either, so I'm getting increasingly worried :(
-
"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
:o I admire your optimism, Scotty. I guess I'll be glad if he makes it to no. 1 somehow and I'm afraid the sales will be much lower compared to his usual first week standards

Latin VMA Awards
Wow, I'm really happy that he won that award! :yahoo: The performance was good, but I'm a bit disappointed that he didn't do Lovelight -_-
-
"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Oh-oh, that doesn't sound good. Only no. 3 on amazon, no ads... I'm seriously dreading the first sales figures

Rudebox, the album: The reviews
At least parts of it are up on rw.com Rob will be so pleased about this one :D So they really did not change their minds about the whole album after that mini review they had a while back :o :yahoo:

Rudebox, the album: The reviews
The Channel 4 one - I think even the parts that are meant to be complimentary don't really sound like it. A strange review if you ask me, although it gets 7 out of 10 the whole write up dosn't sound very positive to me. But maybe I just don't get it  Anyway, the Australian review sounds fab, this one doesn't get me confused
