RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
It was about time, I was getting a little impatient  But it would be even more important for it to stay in the Top 10 all of next week, right ? Fingers crossed ...

Jups, thanks for the report and pics. Glad to hear you had a fantastic night. Congrats Scotland for having the loudest crowd so far ! :D :cheer: I can imagine Rob being touched about it, aaww, bless him. Shame Rudebox didn't go down very well, but I sort of expected that. I think it has got a mixed reception at most gigs since he started performing it. Some go and  and others are more like this

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
And why does Rob love them so much... In all fairness it should be said that new releases in Germany come out on a Friday, so Rudebox has got its release there on September 1st already and probably therefore it was also available on their itunes earlier than in the UK (don't know that for sure though). Talking about hype: I still don't understand why Germany has got that Rudebox van cruising through the country but it obviously doesn't come to the UK ... Also, although I have yet to see it myself I was told there is an ad for Rudebox on German telly. It makes me wonder if EMI Germany do their own thing on the marketing front, almost seems like it.

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
Well, it doesn't help in the UK but - Rudebox is at no. 2 in the German itunes chart ! :o :cheer: I didn't expect that, I mean the reaction of the German fans was similar to everywhere else in the beginning ie. hearing Rudebox a lot of them were like this :puke2: Either many have been converted (now going  ) or there are a lot of young and hip non-RW fans downloading Rudebox in Germany :D

Robbie: "I'm competitive. I want to win"
Thanks so much for posting this ! Yes, this Angels-Lovelight thing is a bit scary... Of course Lovelight can never mean as much to people as Angels but it could be the "dance-Angels" if you know what I mean. Well, I hope he's right about it. Because Lovelight is really brilliant and also I don't want him to be disappointed... Only I wonder- if Rob thinks Lovelight will be so huge, why is it not the first single ... ? Has Nigel gone from being "the spawn of Satan" to being Santa now ... ?

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
Hi there, Rock DJ, glad you decided to join in - and share total confusion with us. At least you know I haven't exaggerated  no. 14 on itunes, that doesn't sound so bad. Fingers crossed the upward trend will continue

August 2006 News
I quite like that headline "KING OF POP IS BACK". Has a nice ring to it... About Mr. Walsh - correct me if I'm wrong here, to my knowledge his biggest acts were Boyzone and Westlife. None of those were really successful outside the UK & Ireland. Ok, maybe they did alright with some of their songs in Europe, but never ever were they as big as Rob is in the rest of the world. So, that says it all to me. B)

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
I do know that this is their comeback, but still I think there's much more hype about them now than there was in 2004, that's just my personal impression. The times when Rob got really good charts positions with whatever he releases have been over for a while I think and I'm not only talking about Sin here. Single-wise his best time was during the Sing When You're winning period, that was when he got top 5 with everything.

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
I don't know much about the Scissor Sisters' music, but the impression I get is that they are just THE big thing in the UK at the moment, very hip and trendy and all that. And I'm afraid our Rob is far from being hip at the moment, the overall attitude is more like "10 years is enough, go away now" ... So I've got no doubt that Scissor Sisters will go to the top spot and I shall be praying that Rudebox makes it into the Top 10.

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
I know I'm repeating myself saying this, but - I preferred the good old times when the official singles charts were about physical sales ONLY, especially if this explanation is the right one ie. When ALL the week of downloads count for the charts and not only that one week before the actual single release, it just wouldn't be fair considering not all tracks are available for download for the same period of time. :(

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
As far as I know there are some who want to buy the cd AND download Rudebox as well.

August 2006 News
They took this from one of our Austrian magazines, published last week. I didn't even bother to post it because the article was just total rubbish. -_-

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
@hotfudge: I'm seriously offended now - not, of course I know you're only joking :P Probably I'm a bit old-fashioned but I think I preferred the days when charts were decided by physical sales only... Another (possibly very stupid  ) question to one of those charts experts: Does a single which doesn't get anywhere in the download charts have a chance of topping the official charts by physical sales only ? Or is that hardly possible nowadays ?

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
Oh my, this whole download and charts business is really complicated. I think I'm getting old

RW Single. Rudebox (2006)
Same here! I was like that ever since Rudebox was released to the radio. Sometimes I think oh, it will be alright and the next minute I'm dreading it will be a disaster. I think I've never been that nervous about a single release of Rob before and that's because of those mainly negative reactions in the early phase, wasn't very encouraging :puke2: I wanna do everything I can to support the single, so Scotty please keep us informed on when and where from we should download it.

Anastacia and Rudebox
to Anastacia, a woman with good taste. Rob and her were in Vienna at the same time, she was promoting her clothing line. Shame she didn't find time to attend the gig, hearing this now probably she would have liked to. :)

August 2006 News
At first all the stuff that has already been written, but the last bit is probably the most interesting one, because - unlike the Mirror- they apparently have a comment from Robbie's people. Taken from Dotmusic http://uk.launch.yahoo.com/n Robbie 'set for song legal battle' (Thursday August 24, 2006 11:10 AM) Robbie Williams is reportedly facing a legal fight with Rod Stewart's stepson Ashley Hamilton over a song on his new album, Rudebox. Ashley claims the popstar has nicked the tune She's Madonna, which the duo came up with when they worked together in LA, reports the Daily Mirror. He says Robbie then took the half-finished track to the hit band The Pet Shop Boys to complete. The 31-year-old songwriter, whose mum Alana was Rod's first wife, has apparently hired lawyers Dean & Dean to dispute the case. "We came up with this idea over coffee one afternoon. Robbie said he had an idea for a song about some girl he used to date, Tania Strecker, and how she was dumped by Guy Richie for Madonna," Ashley is quoted by the paper as saying. "That was a smiley thing to do, so I said, 'Why don't we make a joke song about it?' "That's how it started. We worked on the lyrics together at home and at the studio. "The next thing I know, a producer's ringing me up to say congratulations for getting my song onto Robbie's record. I just said 'I don't know what you are talking about'." Williams, 32, says he wrote the song after seeing Madonna at the MTV Europe awards last year. "She's Madonna is a collaboration between Robbie and the Pet Shop Boys," a spokesman said. "We have not had correspondence from Dean & Dean." <_<

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Let's hope the article in today's Mirror is rubbish because if not we might miss out on She's Madonna... :o

August 2006 News
Do you know what it sounds like to me ? The Mirror being pissed off that Rob gave the Sun an exclusive interview. -_- Of course I might be wrong and if there's any truth to this I just hope Rob will give Ashley credit for the song and save himself a lot of trouble.

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
And as long as he does not only release covers as singles. I'm very happy to hear the Louise won't be a single for the reasons Scotty already mentioned. I'm hoping for She's Madonna to be released. Although I don't even know the song yet, after everything that has been written about it so far this track could be huge.

August 2006 News
Such a lot to read again! :o Almost hard to keep up, but I'm not complaining. :D I don't know much about Mr. Walsh, only the bit that is mentioned in Feel. But Rob's comment about him now is very cheeky.

"Rudebox" - THE ALBUM
Jupiter, I wouldn't be so worried. First of all, you don't even know yet if you won't like the album. The other thing is with Rob that sometimes he changes his mind as often as his underwear (that's how I see it) and we also know that he always is very enthusiastic about his current album and then rubbishes a previous one. When he released Intensive Care he was exactly the same and I don't think he always means it, or probably he means it for the moment but not forever. Besides, when you read stuff in print only and don't see him talking you always have to be careful, it won't come with a warning like *Robbie-being-ironic- or-funny-here* NOW this is the music he wants to make and is passionate about, but it could be different again in 3 or 5 years or whatever time and we might get another album like his classics. And about the interview he gave VN : jupiter, you think it doesn't say much for his integrity - I think by doing this he showed that he is not as childish and vindictive as she assumed he would be and that's very positive to me

August 2006 News
To be honest I hope what Rob says about the TT boys is all going to be positive. I don't want World War III to break out again and the press having a field day about it. :puke2:
