She's Madonna the single
Not so happy about the charts position in my native Austria, that's UK-ish.  But I'm hoping it can climb like it did in Switzerland. Besides, for our charts that's still a very good chart entry for a single that is already the third of a new album. So SOTB was at #14, I was already wondering about that. Yeah, would be nice for She's Madonna to do better than that. All fingers crossed for no. 13

March 2007 News
I know what you mean, rather unsettling to read something like that in The Mirror. :o  But don't forget, it didn't come from the 3am girls. I'm sure we'll get another lovely article from them on Monday, where they will go on about how his career is finished after She's Madonna only charted in the Top 15... <_<

March 2007 News
jups, that bit from the Daily Record cracked me up. And I hope it's true what that Lisa says, that he has no plans to release new material before 2008. Scotty should be happy about that too, right ? It's what we've always said. He shouldn't throw out album after album, particularly not now after what he's been through. He should allow himself a long break and at the same time give the Brits time to miss him and realise what they've got in him. I have not given up hope yet that they will one day. -_-

She's Madonna the single
:o :o   Well, it would have been to good to be true. But I guess it can do no harm if non UK fans continue downloading from there, just in case it does count. About your question dazzleland: I'm not British and I could be totally wrong, but if my memory of cultural studies at college doesn't fail me Jersey is a small island (channel island ?). But surely someone from the UK will be a more reliable source to answer that.

She's Madonna the single
IMPORTANT !!!! To all non UK-fans, there is a way to help Rob's sales in the UK charts. You can follow the link to Tesco Downloads http://www.tescodownloads.com/servle...menu/start.htm (then type in Robbie Williams She's Madonna into the search field) and apparently if you download from there it should count towards the UK charts. Please take that opportunity folks ! I have already done 3 downloads from that site, it was quite easy.

She's Madonna the single
I'm pretty impressed with no. 4 in Germany. I think that's his best chart position there ever for a single that has not been the first one of an album. Although I'm not sure where Road to Mandalay/ Eternity went, but Eternity was a new track, so... well done to the Germans and Rob As for the UK, maybe Never Touch that Switch should have been the new single. Or Bongo Bong after all. I'm trying to laugh about it, otherwise I'd have to cry. Although I have to say, I was expecting even worse than Top 20, hope it can maintain that until Sunday. Of course the press will scream FLOP but they would with every RW release that doesn't sell bucketloads, Top 10 still wouldn't have been good enough. -_-

How unkind of you, jups to make fun of his fingers. The man has just come out of rehab. <_< Not too happy about the new tattoo  Other than that he looks absolutely GORGEOUS. And I also hope he is as well and happy inside as he looks on those pics.

She's Madonna out on March 5th in the UK - BUY IT!!!
Things aren't looking good so far  , so every support is needed. Please download She's Madonna on itunes uk (best more than once) and buy one or more copies. Show Rob and the world that there are still loads of RW fans out there and also such that actually buy his records. This is probably useless because the people who come here regularly would have done it also without this reminder, but I'm getting desperate, so... anything, that could help.

She's Madonna the single
I agree he needs a long break. It's just so sad that (should he disappear off the scene for a long while) he goes off like this - with the Rudebox flop and rehab being the last memory on people's minds probably forgetting how much he has achieved. It's just NOT fair.

The Sun: Send a card to Robbie
Read whole article here: http://www.thesun.co.uk/article/0,,4-2007090532,00.html I doubt Rob will really get those cards as they say but I'm going to send one anyway just to show I care. You never know with Newton, if she doesn't get flooded with cards for Rob a week later she might go "No one gives a f*** about Robbie" If you're not willing to do it by mail you can also leave an online message (you should find that option when you follow the link to the article above), but you have to be registered on the site to do that. The Sun is the biggest selling British paper, so I think we should show them that loads of people support Rob.

She's Madonna the single
Scotty, everything you said about what EMI have done wrong again with this single is true. But things are not very different in the rest of Europe, so how do you explain that She's Madonna is doing really well there ... ? We have got no more promotion than you do but for one our radio stations love it which is a big advantage. I don't mean to blame everything on the UK again, but let's face it - right now Rob is pretty much f***ed in this country :puke2:

She's Madonna the single
Talking about Germany's love for Rob and viceversa: She's Madonna is at no. 9 in the download charts this week (was #14 the previous week).

She's Madonna the single
Can't say I'm surprised, but still miserable. Apparently She's Madonna is doing really well in Europe while it looks set to flop in the UK. :puke2: Like Scotty says, I think there's a number of reasons for that development, the negative press certainly being one of them but probably not the only one. I bet there are many who still love Rob and have written messages of support when they hard the rehab news, but who will probably not buy the single. Sadly the sales figures are what he is being judged after and if She's Madonna bombs in the UK (which I'm afraid it will the way things look now) the voices of "Robbie's career is finished" will get even louder ... :arrr:

February 2007 News
I find the Telegraph article very interesting, they've certainly got a point. It also made me think that not only Rob had longevity (which is what the hip artists of the moment have yet to prove) but during that time when he had huge success it was like no other male artists (at least from the UK) ever came close in reaching his level, there was almost no competition if you ask me. Looking at it now: At first it was James Blunt making it big, but now it almost seems as if he is "out" again because it was not long until James Morrisson took over and now there's also this Mika bloke. They might be successful with their music but who would want to put a poster of those up on their wall...? Well, I certainly wouldn't. :puke2:  To me those aren't popstars, unlike Rob - he is a real popstar with all the good and bad that comes with it...

Robbie in Rehab Press Stories
I find this all very frustrating at the moment. Bad enough that Rob is in rehab, but that means he's getting help and will be alright hopefully. What's doing my head in are brainless idiots like the Gallaghers or journalists who claim it's all a big joke and Rob only went into rehab for publicity or sympathy. :arrr: IMO the point of time had nothing to do with the Brits, but with his birthday that happened to be one day before the damn Brits. And if Liam feels that the news stole the show at the ceremony and overshadowed them, which seems to p**s him off, then it just serves him right. :P

Robbie in Rehab!
Have to agree that one bit of Sally's interview does sound scary  and I don't want to think about it too much, but like Twinkle said, he's got help now and that's a good thing, he will be alright eventually. Also I totally agree that something should be done about The Mirror, it's despicable that they can't even be decent now, it's like kicking somebody when they are already on the ground. :arrr: I'm glad Guy made it public that the latest Mirror article was plain lies, good on him. Also nice to see that celebs are showing their support. :)

Brits 2007
Rob has been misinterpreted a million times about things he said or didn't say about TT and has been slagged off for it, so now they see what it's like. -_-

Messages of Support for Rob
Dear Rob, take all the time you need to recover. Your fans are thinking of you and we love and support you all the way through. You're the best. Take good care of yourself.

Robbie in Rehab!
AAAHHH, so the manager talking to the press has been NMS ? :o :puke2: Well, at least he managed to find some nice words, doesn't change the fact though that I'll always despise him. -_- Just to let you know, the German speaking media have been really supportive, no bad word so far. I think the British press have no clue how loved and appreciated Rob is in the rest of Europe. Ignorant morons. @Jackie: Good to hear your comment made it on The Sun site. I so understand why you don't want to watch the Brits. I mean, we don't get a broadcast here but even if I could watch it I wouldn't want to.
-
Robbie in Rehab!
:o Brilliant. That's all we need. And Rob of course. But my personal guess is not NMS but Kevin Kinsella, he's the one who's always liked to blab about Rob in public. Either way, it already makes me sick now. I'm dreading tomorrow's press. Think about all the "close pals" and "insiders" who will share their wisdom with us... :puke2: :puke2: :puke2:

Robbie in Rehab!
D'you know what ? I'm not sure if I want him to win that award. The general attitude will probably be oh, they only gave it to him now because he's in rehab. It's sad really. There's so many basically successful artists out there who have had flops at some point. But with Rob you get the impression it's a crime to only get ONE Brit nomination and having an album with lower sales than usual (but still sales that other artists would wish for..) :arrr: What has he ever done to deserve the kind of treatment he is getting these days ? -_-
-
Robbie in Rehab!
Have already thought about that too. <_< And I bet TT won't get through the night without being asked about it. :puke2:
-
Robbie in Rehab!
It's a bit of a shock really. I wish the bloody press would leave him alone, at least now, but they are loving this, it will be even worse. How dare anyone say this is a publicity stunt ? :arrr: :arrr: :arrr: A publicity stunt would be dating Britney Spears or something like that, but not checking into rehab. F***ING bast*rdS !!!

youtube clip: Very young Rob as Artful Dodger
I think that's a clip that deserves its own thread. (Thanks to Dazzle on TRWS for finding it ! ) It shows Rob (aged about 14, I don't know exactly) performing as Artful Dodger in an Oliver Twist play. I had already seen this, as the whole performance belongs to the most precious pieces of my video collection, but I think it's great that now a wider audience gets to see this through youtube. It's a real treat. I think you can see clearly that our Rob has always been a natural on stage. :yahoo:

February 2007 News
God, help us... the kiss'n'tell I mean, not the charity gig. You're right jups, I guess it's been to long, so there had to be another one of those stories that present Robbie as a wordclass lover and total weirdo ...
