Why is it closing? Just let it live, who cares?

I'm wondering what's going on with the whole thing? As expected Unity has curbed the discussion.
  3. so ridiculous. the Enya logo on that car is laughable. I LOVE Enya, but it's weird that he'd use [or they would use] his racing car to promote Enya. Weird.
  4. So she looks old! She usually looks ageless, but it seems as if age is catching her a bit. At any rate, I hope she treats us to some new music this year.
  5. Enya looks old in that photo.

Enya wrote May It Be in 2000 / 2001 FYI.....so the timeline is possible. Enya's personal life NEVER interested me, but it would seem unlikely she is married, at least, for this long and have it be unknown by so many in the media.
  7. What I WOULD WEAR is a baseball cap with a quote from one of Enya's songs. "for so great a treasure words will never do" or "all the stars are fallen embers" or "water shows the hidden heart" it would get people asking questions.
  8. As much as I love Enya....I wouldn't be caught DEAD wearing one of those.
  9. This album died the moment it was released. It's a cash grab, plain and simple, and Enya, Nicky & Roma clearly couldn't care less about it. It could have been special, instead it was mediocre. Here's hoping Enya's back in the studio working on another non-holiday album
  10. And you've choses Enya's most popular songs...but judging from your list...you seem to be a fan of pop music, so that's not surprising. Cool. That was a lot of work, thanks for sharing.

I believe you're absolutely correct in all of your assumptions Ben. I don't think Enya is a performer either. She's a studio-bound artist, always will be. It's certainly interesting to watch Aigle spin their way out of this discussion. I remember in one interview Enya said that the reason is that there were only 7 albums, like, that's not enough of a repertoire to choose 12 to 18 songs for a live show. The funniest part of the interview was, at the time, she cited 7 albums, when in fact, she had only released 5, haha. Anyway.....I've strapped in for the wait until she releases her next album. I heard that she's not in the studio at the moment so it will probably 2011 or 2012 until the next album.

Bigwig, for citing that this is flogging a dead horse, you've certainly have taken the whip and given it your best go. I believe this topic remains because, as aforementioned, EVERY TIME they release an album they talk about a live show. EVERY F****ng time! I don't buy the 'oh, she's just more comfortable being a studio musician' line, I just don't. As an artist, I would think she would JUMP at the chance to express her music in a different form. Also, Enya performing live shouldn't be about album sales. I don't get the argument that she doesn't need to because she's already sold so many cds. A live show should be about celebrating the music and offering it to your fans as something special, not sales. If Enya was to solely perform because of additional sales, then I wouldn't be behind the endeavor. The facts are, the Celtic Women [and others] have beaten Enya to the punch and perform her songs live, and they're not half bad. I'm a fan of choral music in general and there are some breathtaking groups out there that would render 'enya live' flawlessly. This wouldn't be difficult, Aigle is just stalling or not interested, yet, giving the impression of interest just until the promotional cycle is at an end. As long as they keep talking about performing live, this topic will always be front and center. If some are tired of people talking about then you should also be tired of Aigle talking about it as well. It's just that simple.

So, Enya's official online forum doesn't want to have anything to do with a live debate. My question to all of you here. Will Enya ever perform live? Why hasn't she performed live yet? Why do you think that Aigle [her recording studio] talks soo much about a live show and never makes good on their talks? An interesting debate was raging on Unity, and it was shut down, and most of the interesting comments were deleted. I'd like to discuss this here FREELY.

  15. I'm probably one of Enya's biggest fans but I guess, I'd be interested in seeing an actual formal album do well if it wasn't a re-release of past material. I don't care about another 'best of' charting well i suppose. When she releases her new album and I'm behind it, then I'll be curious about it charting well. This album was released by the record company and only benefits them financially.
