What bothers me is if he really makes it in USA he'll have to completely change to appeal to american public and he'll probably ignore UK, something like natasha bedingfield. Taio and Jay made it because they made records that appeal to american public, there's nothing british in it, it's so american. is there any law that obligates radio stations to play certain amount of UK music, isn't there some rule in french that says 70%or50% of all music played on radio has to be french? Historically, UK music is the one that's been making changes and has revolutionized music like no other nation, UK has had some of the best and most important artists in the history of music. It's sad radio is ignoring UK acts and that some UK acts americanize themselves.

And it's all american. UK radios should play more UK artists. It seems to me they play more and more americans each year.

we're not overestimating her. CP almost reached #1, MYFML is selling constantly, her album did well. This song is doing well with public, it's doing well on airplay charts and in countries where it's been released (#1 Germany and Netherland) + she's got the hype as well. Also, it's a good song and different from other songs right now. I'd really like her to be #, the song is great and we really need some real good music to be #1. Ithink top 5 is a lock.

Umbrella is way bigger than anything rihanna has ever had. Sales are bigger nowdays that's why OG will surpass it. Umbrella was #1 for 10 wks. Nuff said. Does itunes gift card have effect on sales like in USA, is it that big and dramatic?

I think a lot of these songs are not bad or at least not THAT bad to be in top 50. But obvioulsy people got fed up and annoyed with them. So I guess it should be most annoying songd of 2010.

2 years ago there were reports she was broke. Obviously, that's fake. Only female artist swith 200m+ are madonna, mariah and celine, janet is also close. Obviously longevity and constans succes is needed. That's according to forbes magazine. Rihanna is never on any of forbes' lists, not even on top 20 young money makers. You see taylor, miley... but no rihanna. So i guess she doesn't make that much money at all. This is very interseting topic. So artist gets paid for a concert and concert promoters earn from ticket sales? I guess a performer get some percantage of those sales as well? Then there are contracts with label per each album and royalties. I know Michael and Celine had the biggest royalties, they received 20-25% of what their music sold. So i guess if album is 10$ they'd earn around 2$. Also, do artists get any royalties from radio/tv airplay?
