Sorry guys this album is horrific and that is putting it nicely: The first album for X Factor runners up JLS is set to be released on Monday on the back of what will be two number one singles come Sunday. Here is my review. Beat Again – Their first number one single is a great track. I think it was the perfect single to introduce JLS to the market. It was also a relief they never went down a Westlife route. It was a shame after they won two MOBO awards based on this track that they could not even do a live performance. Everybody In Love – The JR produced track is on its way to the top of the UK chart this week. Although I think the song is kind of bland, I can understand why young girls would eat this up as it is very catchy. Keep Her – Probably the best on the album outside of the two singles. However, I am just left wondering is this the best it can get. This track is a complete rip off of Taio Cruz. Crazy For You – The first proper ballad on the album and it is a stinker. I’ve heard this all before and it doesn’t impress me in the slightest, even the vocals are poor. Heal This Heartbreak – The beat on this track is an improvement on the previous two. However, I am once again left completely bored. Honestly, material like this just cannot make it in a tough market. Close To You – Yawn yet another run of the mill ballad. This track would honestly not be out of place on an Aaron Carter album from ten years ago. This almost put me to sleep and almost made me want to stop listening to the rest of the album. Only Tonight – At least this track does not put you to sleep. However, it is yet more run of the mill bland rnb. I’m honestly struggling to find anything positive to say at this stage. There are so many other artists out there who are releasing similar material to this. However, that material is better and vocals are also better. One Shot – This track is an improvement and vocals have improved. That being said, there were better tracks on the Taio Cruz album I reviewed the other week, so if I can get better music from him, the question remains why would anyone waste their time buying this for reasons other than their image. Private – The production here is better. The track is also slightly catchy. However, it is nothing that I want to hear again. At this stage, I am annoyed an album with this much tripe was able to be released. Don’t Go – Yet another Taio Cruz rip off. I think JLS got a hold of his album and just decided to imitate his entire album here. The vocals are once again unimpressive and all the tracks so far have just blended into one. Only Making Love – It honestly sounds like a ten year wrote and sang this track, which in turn makes it kind of perverse. I am literally struggling to get through this tripe. Kickstart – I like this track which may be surprising. However, it is as close to the first two singles that they are going to get. Great little up-tempo number, which I can imagine having a great dance routine. Vocals let it down. Tightrope – Yet another dreary ballad which is of course a terrible way to end the album. The last note from Aston is the best vocal you get on this album. At this stage, I don’t have anything left to say as I am so utterly disappointed in this album. Singles: Beat Again Everybody in Love Kick-start Keep Her I’m not the biggest JLS fan. However, they did show passion and growth on the X Factor and I found their first two singles catch. Therefore, I gave the album a chance only to be so disappointed that I have gave up completely on JLS. Perhaps the fact that this is their first album can be used as a slight excuse but when you have debuts from people like Lady Gaga released this year and redefining pop, JLS just fail in comparison. Also, compared to boy bands of the past this attempt is utterly pathetic, for any long term success for the band they are going to have to do better than this tripe. http://ratedrworld.blogspot.com
  2. Also I agree with the poster who said this years X Factor winner has no chance. The winner this year is going to be terrible as none of the remaining contestants have star power. They will probably sell around 300,000 the first week then another 150,000 the week after if they are lucky. I can see the X Factor Finalists selling around 350,000 in the first week but from there it has no sustainability. I'm pretty sure the campaign was so successful last year as it had the media behind it due to the Help The Heroes charity as bad as this may sound the media will not constantly pimp a charity single for a hospital in London.
  3. Well Cheryl will pass half a million this week: 290,000>138,000>70,000 her sales are decrasing fast. The question is can she sell another 400k in 7 weeks and I don't think she can.

Haha Beyonce just accepted an award on the EMA's wearing the same horrific dress Cheryl had on for the X Factor this Saturday.

I believe they are. If they are trying to launch a new artist it is better to do it than January than in November when the charts are clogged up with X Factor crap. Mileys fake version was out for months and that didn't hinder its performance so I believe they should have held back on release.

The mind boggles as to why they never released Kesha in January so it could have a 'Just Dance' style run.
  7. Oh shut up haters this is amazing.

I love that JLS have not sold as expected that is what a $h!t vocal performance does even Cheryl was better. I'm pretty sure those sales are not far off Beat Agains first day so it doesn't seem the X Factor has worked for them. Why release Kesha now on a Tuesday? Record companies are retarded.
  9. Guys do not buy this. She is re-releasing it AGAIN on the 23rd November to include the Gaga track and video: http://ratedrworld.blogspot.com/2009/11/be...-album-dvd.html

I can't believe some of you people are laying into Pixie Lott yet praise Cheryl Cole. I am not a Pixie Lott fan and would never buy one of her records. However, I can safely say that she has achieved alot this year having two number one singles despite their low sales. A number one is a number one whatever way you look at it. Her album has not sold fantastically but can we please remember she has not appeared or had anything to do with X Factor. If you look at the album charts in the top 10 we have Michael Buble, Alrexandra, Whitney and Cheryl all of these albums are selling based on the X Factor. I think people need to give Pixie some slack she is 17 has a fantastic voice and gained a following in an industry that is credibility wise being destroyed by a tv show. Also JLS were pathetic on X Factor last night. Marvin for one cannot sing a note in tune and the dancing was just bad. At least they are good for something though kicking that talentless bint off the top spot.

I can't believe some people are debating whether the runner ups will sell records. The winner isn't even going to sell records this year as all of the remaining contestants are completely crap. The first four acts voted out are better than everything that is left.

Sorry for the spelling issues. I get bored writing sometimes and make mistakes lol. Give it a listen if you get a chance. The three I suggest should be singles are particularly good. Is this even getting a release here?

I have reviewed the album: http://ratedrworld.blogspot.com/2009/10/am...bum-review.html I think it is fantastic. It does get crap at the end but the first 8 tracks are fantastic. Swag Back is amazing.
  23. Just came across this fantastic video that shows Rihanna rehearsing Pon De Replay the night before she got signed by Def Jam. It is amazing to think how far she has come since 2005, from everyone thinking she would be a one hit wonder to having one of the biggest albums of the decade. Check it on my blog: http://ratedrworld.blogspot.com/2009/10/ri...rsal-prior.html

I have already bought it, I'm just confused why it is not showing up on the album chart either? To be honest I've not heard Cheryls song on radio yet so wasn't sure why anyone was expecting it to chart in the top 10.

This is the thing that is confusing me has it even showed up on the Itunes album chart at all?
