Strongly dislike Sprints for many reasons. The drivers consider them meaningless and most couldn't care less about the result. They reveal the competitive order for the Grand Prix before qualifying for the actual event even starts. This usually makes the main event more predictable and less interesting as a result. The majority of drivers often play it safe for fear of incurring damage that will compromise their race proper. They are usually boring, with no element of strategy or risk. The only interesting part is the first lap or two. The only interesting ones have been because of the weather, not because of the Sprint. If a driver receives a penalty or heavy damage during a Sprint it will compromise their race, even though the two events are supposed to be disconnected. They prevent teams from having the time to optimise set up - bizarrely I want to see the drivers competing at their best - in favour of a gimmick. Several drivers have been disqualified from successful races due to the lack of time the team was allowed to adjust their set up for the specific circuit. They don't respect the history and tradition of Formula 1 and Grand Prix racing. They diminish the prestige of a Grand Prix win. They take away the equality of the circuits. All GP weekends should be of equal value points wise and not have some give more points than others. They exist primarily to make money. The lie that they are to give fans better value for money is revealed by the increased costs of tickets for Sprint hosting GPs. I genuinely enjoy watching practice and seeing how a cars setup is dialed in by the best drivers over the 3 sessions and I miss it on Sprint weekends. At least they're not reverse grids though, and I can ignore them if I choose.

Animals is the oft overlooked gem of their 70s output. Not as instant as Dark Side of the Moon or Wish You Were Here and not as personal or 'close to a solo album' as The Wall. It's Floyd's last true co-operative effort between all the members, even if Roger took the lead, and Gilmour has said he thinks the album contains his best guitar work. The album rewards repeated listening more than anything of their others, from that era.

That's a Sabbath track. I'd say there's a lot more highly rated Sabbath tracks than that - Black Sabbath, NIB, War Pigs, Iron Man etc Solo wise - Bark at the Moon, Crazy Train, Mr Crowley, No More Tears

There's another issue with that though, and I think you're more than likely correct, but Glastonbury has been notorious for decades for refusing to put Rock, and particularly, Metal acts on the bill regardless of how much they like to claim to represent all the contemporary performing arts. Sure, they'll toss the odd booking in the direction of Metallica or GNR and both went down very well but they'll shy away from putting more than a token gesture on the bill. You'll find a decent number of Jazz or World Music acts on the bill and yet their sales in the UK are dwarfed by Metal and Rock. You only have to look at the recent stadium tours by Iron Maiden and Slayer to see that they can still sell out stadiums - Iron Maiden sold 75,000 tickets and Slayer - a band not noted for big hit singles - sold 45,000 per show. The there's the Black Sabbath farewell show too, and other stadium sized bands like Rammstein, Stereophonics or Green Day If Glastonbury, for example were more open minded Sleep Token, Ghost or BMTH could easily headline the Pyramid, given that in the past acts with a equal or lower popularity have. The problem isn't that Rock and Metal have lost popularity or mainstream pontential, it's that the mainstream media began shying away from those genres in the 2000s as they chased being cool and trendy and in essence began dictating that people didn't listen to it. First Radio One and the like stopped playing it on daytime scheduling (except the very lightweight stuff like Killers or Kings of Leon) and then the broader public forgot there was more there, they whole thing began snowballing and now newer bands are finding it harder to be heard. Rock is like Bindweed, you can cut the top off and starve it of light but underneath it's still there thriving away and will appear again and again just as healthy even if some people don't want to look at it.

If ever an album warranted a 10/10 it is here. A groundbreaking, hugely influential, masterpiece
