2024 Formula One Season
I haven't seen any mention of Verstappen complaining but it would be understandable given the other 16 drivers had no similar penalties. And when you consider the exact same thing happened between Lawson and Tsunoda last week. All drivers get lucky or unlucky with stewards to some degree. It's more that it appears Russell has contrived to get Verstappen punished that seems off.

2024 Formula One Season
They've penalised Max with a 1 place grid drop, for something no other driver has been punished for before AND thrown him a point on his license. All this despite George not being on a flyer himself. knowing Max was there and was going slow because of Alonso being there too and then accelerating to manufacture the situation. You have to say George has played the game very well here (but he should drop the innocent angel act) and that this will add fuel to the anti-Verstappen bias claims. Additionally, there were over 40 instances of drivers going too slowly during the sessions, involving 17 drivers yet only three were investigated - Tsunoda, Perez and Verstappen. Only one driver received any kind of punishment. And how they managed to issue a sporting penalty for a non-sporting 'infringement' AND deem it dangerous driving is beyond a joke. Verstappen seems to be getting the same sort of treatment that Senna did. As far as Russell goes... I wouldn't sit with my back to him.

The Trevor Horn Rate Results
Propaganda were brilliant but were royally screwed over by ZTT so badly it caused them to effectively split up, with Brucken leaving to form Act. The rest of them released an awful second album that's best ignored. Such a shame as the album A Secret Wish is a forgotten gem,

2024 Formula One Season
Qatar Providing Fernando Alonso takes the start on Sunday it will be his 400th GP. He will then have competed in 35% of all World Championship Grand Prix (36% if you exclude the Indy 500s run in 1950-60). McLaren can clinch their first Constructors title since 1998 but they will need a 1-2 in the Sprint and the GP, plus the Flap to win it regardless of what Ferrari do.

They immediately stated the Colton Herta was in consideration, which does make some sense but have added nothing about the second seat. I wouldn't be surprised if Ferrari may well have a say in things though.

Although I too will always prefer the David McWilliams version, Marc Almond's cover of Pearly Spencer is class. Grace Jones is a mid '80s classic and the T.a.t.u. tracks are decent. Starting to get in to the stuff I rather like now.

Apparently, if you spell Andretti as C-a-d-i-l-l-a-c all opposition to entering Formula One goes away just like that.

Yeah, that's fine. Will amend the list.

Voting for this is now closed. Thanks to everyone who contributed. After a few days compiling (and so as not to detract from the Trevor Horn rate), I shall begin with the results next week.

Band Aid - Do They Know It's Christmas? (2024 Ultimate Mix)
The biggest travesty is using the wrong version of Bono's line, it's the part the whole song hinges on neither he nor anyone else has ever bettered the delivery he gave it in 1984. Otherwise the production is fine, Dizzee's part is better separated from the main sections, so it doesn't break the flow so much. On the negative, some of the vocals are not the most memorable versions they could have picked, the repetition of lines is jarring the news clips don't help and it would have been better to use Bowie's lines from Live Aid than to use his spoken intro. They've tried to please everyone with throwing the names at it, when they should have cherrypicked better. It feels like it wouldn't be hard to improve this just by streamlining it a little.

2024 Formula One Season
The McLaren excels best a medium-high downforce circuits with long sweeping 'medium-fast' corners and the cars prefer higher temperatures generally. Hence, Vegas, with it's very long straights and super low temps was a nightmare for them. Circuits like Barcelona, Zandvoort, Brazil, Silverstone really suit them. They actually found the right setup for their final stint on hards where both drivers posted competitive times. Qatar should be better for them, the heat will help (and Mercedes will enjoy less of a boost because of it) but it also has a lot of slow corners in S2 which won't be ideal, but there are enough of the right type of corners that they should comfortably find a setup to put them at or near the front again. Losail is also a circuit that doesn't suit the Ferrari so they may be on the back foot from the off. I'd punt at the two McLaren's on the front row, possibly split by Max who'll be 3rd otherwise. Leclerc to line up 4th. Mercs up next if the heat doesn't kill them too hard. Plus it's a Sprint so nobody will have much time to explore setup options. (Watch this prediction go spectacularly wrong now!)

Murray Walker and James Hunt together was a class pairing. James may have been famous for his vicious criticism but his analysis was second to none too. As much as I like Brundle and am happy he's there, he's not on the same level and his partner, David Croft is a blitering idiot. zl-oAsDCGNA JMZhPtJ86Eo _L61MSxDCwY

Haunted by Shane and Sinead is glorious song sung brilliantly but I actually always felt the production was very bland. And for me, the orgininal version sung by Cait O'Riordan is still the best.

2024 Formula One Season
The right driver wins the title and it's probably his finest season to date. Shame Lewis ballsed up qualifying as he had the measure of Russell this weekend, otherwise. Already looks like next year could be anyone's if car development continues the pattern of these last couple of years, especially as Red Bull will get plenty of wind tunnell testing back.

Buzzjack's Greatest F1 Race- 2024 Edition Results
The last time I went to the British GP. I'll never forget the guy, two rows in front of me, who'd put £50 on Herbert to win at 100-1 odds. Possibly the happiest I've ever seen anyone.

Pointless: The F1 Edition II Results
Thanks for doing this Mack. It's actually very funny as this is one of those games where it's impossible to play strategy and a huge amount of luck comes in to it. If you actually play it like the TV show, someone else will have gone for obscure too and a glaringly obvious answer like Senna becomes pointless. You can also go wildly off track for any that are opinion based as it's impossible to be incorrect. Also some very interesting answers for the flop driver too!

Boybands Forever
As this is being discussed can anyone remind who the following band were? They were British, had a kids TV show around the late 90s or early 2000s and were like a Busted rip off. You know, like a imitation Punk type thing. Don't think they had much in the way of hits. And no it's not McFly or Son of Dork

Never been a huge fan of Damon's role. He's a nice guy and gives reasonable perspective but he is a bit dull and there's no great insights from him usually despite his experience. That being said I would have no objection to him carrying on if he could and would much rather some of the other individuals from team Sky left - Crofty and Kravitz in partcular are irritating beyond belief. I wonder if the team will be streamlined or there'll be a replacement (if only Raikkonen could be convinced to do it, the lineup needs someone with real personality)
