Pulp - More
I want to like this more than I do. Hopefully there's something on the album with a bit more spark

Indie/Rock Track of the Week: Week 15
A somewhat reluctant vote for Ghost. I had hoped Pulp's new one would be great but it's really underwhelming. Same for Arcade Fire and Green Day. Personal favourites this week - Garbage - There's No Future in Optimism SNAYX - Strut Slung - Class A Cherry

Buzzjack's Ultimate UK Number 7 Single - The Final
Teen Spirit is one of the most important records of the 20th century and a deserved winner. Creep is great but not in the same league. Would have preferred Pulp 3rd over Abba as it's nowhere near my favourite of their's but I won't deny its brilliance. Great fun to watch these results and good to see a fairly alternative top 10, nearly all of which I like on some level (sorry but Avril can do one) Thanks for doing this Rollo

Top 10 Hits that reference a company or business in the title
Since the definition of top 10 and product versus company has gone out the window Run DMC - My Adidas Korn - A.D.I.D.A.S. I know neither were top ten but... T.Rex - Jeepster (well, if Corvette counts!)

2025 Formula One Season
Keeping it clean is the key you're right but there have been plenty of rookies do that - Russell, Leclerc, Norris and Bearman all spring to mind but none had a car that was comfortably a top 10 finisher. Antonelli is in a very rare position of having that in his debut year. Magnussen is a good shout too but if we're honest that McLaren had no right to finish 2nd and 3rd in Australia that year and wouldn't have done had others not suffered issues. Arguably the fifth best car that year so points for finishing were never certain.

2025 Formula One Season
It's a shame that Andretti doesn't count, really. He was born in Italy and officially an Italian until 1965 when he became a US citizen at the age of 25. Mind you he really threw himself into being as American as possible from his teen years.

2025 Formula One Season
I agree Antonelli looks to be a future contender for the title but I wouldn't place too much stock in the points in first three races stat. It sounds impressive but reliability is so good these days that pretty much any driver starting their career one of the top 4 teams should be able to do this if they can keep it clean. Antonelli is the first driver I can think of to start his rookie year in a top car since Lewis Hamilton, so it's not a surprise to see him as the last driver to do it.

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
The votes in full if anyone has a quibble on the tie breaks. Apologies I assumed highest votes settled it rather than most
-
The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
Didn't realise that. Dinosaur Jr got 8 votes compared to Halocene's 5 so you were 19th anyway

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
And thanks to everyone that voted for Emma Conquest. Was genuinely worried I might win at one point which would have looked very dodgy, but relived by the last few voters giving it very little 😅

Thank you everyone for the points and attending. Hope you all enjoyed it and discovered something you love

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
Rachid was a thoroughly deserved winner and a track I remember hearing years ago and thinking was great but completely forgot about until this, so thanks for the excellent reminder! Some fun stats - Most 12 pointers – Rachid Taha and Emma Conquest Most 10 pointers – Clubdrugs Only 7 voters out of 23 didn’t award any points to Rachid Taha

And so the last two sets of votes revealed will decide the winner. Anyone of the top 5 could win it but the voter behind Kelsey Lu cannot vote for themselves, obviously ruling them out

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
Bjork gave us Ms Amos giving us her take on R.E.M's breakthrough hit. Will the big points go to Sylver or Rachid Taha? Emma Conquest gets the 12 (Thanks!) with nothing for Sylver and only 5 for Rachid. Bjork (Tori Amos) 12 Emma Conquest 10 Groove Armada 08 The Breath of Life 07 Kelsey Lu 06 Dinosaur Jr 05 Rachid Taha 04 Chicks on Speed 03 Clubdrugs 02 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 01 Gigi D’Agostino Emma Conquest moves up to 2nd but Rachid's lead drops to 4 points only. The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
A maximum possible score of 36 points is available and so it's still wide open at the top and bottom. But as there were an odd number of voters the next set will be revealed on their own

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
There are now only three voters left to be revealed and it remains very close at the top.

The Best Song Contest in the World... Ever! Part IX - Results
Up next we reveal the names behind the two front runners - and neither get any points from their rival competitor! Addy! gave us Sylver's Abba cover and Brer was the one behind Rachid Taha. 12s go to Nina Simone and The Breath of Life Addy! (Sylver) 12 Nina Simone 10 Gigi D’Agostino 08 Groove Armada 07 Adam Lambert 06 Tori Amos 05 Clubdrugs 04 West End Girls 03 Dolly Dots 02 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun 01 The Breath of Life Brer (Rachid Taha) 12 The Breath of Life 10 Kelsey Lu 08 Clubdrugs 07 Tori Amos 06 Gigi D’Agostino 05 Emma Conquest 04 Dinosaur Jr 03 Nina Simone 02 Groove Armada 01 Sophie Ellis-Bextor Suddenly it all closes up again with Nina Simone moving up to third. Kelsey Lu drops away but Emma Conquest stays in the fight and Clubdrugs keeps the pressure up. Despite another 4 points Dinosaur Jr can't lift themselves off bottom. Scoreboard 90 Rachid Taha (Brer) 85 Sylver (Addy!) 81 Nina Simone (Julian_) 79 Emma Conquest (Severin) 76 Clubdrugs (clubdrugs) 76 Kelsey Lu 73 Gigi D’Agostino (Dobbo) 67 The Breath Of Life (Jade) 53 Tori Amos 53 Groove Armada (AH Gold) 46 West End Girls (gooddelta) 46 Chicks on Speed (Chez Wombat) 44 Pentatonix (Herbs) 42 Fratellis (Mango) 40 Adam Lambert (Scene) 39 Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Jester) 36 William Shatner 33 Halocene (Cowtzy) 32 Paraorchestra with Brett Anderson and Charles Hazelwood (Suedehead) 27 Dolly Dots (WoW73) 22 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun (Cody Buckley) 20 Dinosaur Jr (Jimwatts)

AH Gold and gooddelta now with Groove Armada's Madonna track done for a BBC Live Lounge and West End Girls version of the Pet Shop Boys and Dusty classic (my favourite song by PSB incidentally). Chicks on Speed and Gigi get the 12s. AH Gold (Groove Armada) 12 Chicks on Speed 10 Fratellis 08 Kelsey Lu 07 Rachid Taha 06 Emma Conquest 05 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 04 West End Girls 03 Clubdrugs 02 Sylver 01 Tori Amos gooddelta 12 Gig D’Agostino 10 Rachid Taha 08 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun 07 Chicks on Speed 06 Sylver 05 Groove Armada 04 Dolly Dots 03 William Shatner 02 Emma Conquest 01 Sophie Ellis-Bextor Rachid is back at the top by 5 points over Sylver as they continue to trade blows. Emma Conquest looks to have made a gap between 3rd and 4th and isn't quite out of the running despite dropping back. Mr Ed's big 8 points from gooddelta sees Dinosaur Jr drop in to last place (undeservedly if you ask me but what do I know?) Scoreboard 90 Rachid Taha 85 Sylver 74 Emma Conquest (Severin) 66 Nina Simone (Julian_) 66 Kelsey Lu 63 Clubdrugs (clubdrugs) 57 Gigi D’Agostino (Dobbo) 54 The Breath Of Life (Jade) 46 Chicks on Speed (Chez Wombat) 44 Pentatonix (Herbs) 42 Fratellis (Mango) 40 Tori Amos 42 West End Girls (gooddelta) 43 Groove Armada (AH Gold) 38 Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Jester) 36 William Shatner 33 Adam Lambert (Scene) 33 Halocene (Cowtzy) 32 Paraorchestra with Brett Anderson and Charles Hazelwood (Suedehead) 24 Dolly Dots (WoW73) 20 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun (Cody Buckley) 16 Dinosaur Jr (Jimwatts)

Dobbo and Jester next who entered Gigi D'Agostino's Nik Kershaw cover and Sophie E-B's Pulp song respectively. 12s go out to Nina Simone and Gigi. Shatner gets a big 10 and Sylverdoes too. Dobbo (Gigi D’Agostino) 12 Nina Simone 10 William Shatner 08 Clubdrugs 07 Halocene 06 Sylver 05 Rachid Taha 04 Pentatonix 03 Adam Lambert 02 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 01 Emma Conquest Jester (Sophie Ellis-Bextor) 12 Gigi D’Agostino 10 Sylver 08 West End Girls 07 Paraorchestra 06 Fratellis 05 Clubdrugs 04 Tori Amos 03 Kelsey Lu 02 The Breath of Life 01 William Shatner This puts Sylver back at the summit with Rachid sitting 4 points behnd. Nina Simone and Emma Conquest aren't out of it yet and Clubdrugs edges ahead of Kelsey Lu. The bottom remains unchanged. Scoreboard 77 Sylver 73 Rachid Taha 66 Nina Simone (Julian_) 66 Emma Conquest (Severin) 60 Clubdrugs (clubdrugs) 58 Kelsey Lu 54 The Breath Of Life (Jade) 45 Gigi D’Agostino (Dobbo) 44 Pentatonix (Herbs) 39 Tori Amos 38 West End Girls 38 Groove Armada 33 Adam Lambert (Scene) 33 Halocene (Cowtzy) 33 William Shatner 32 Fratellis (Mango) 32 Sophie Ellis-Bextor (Jester) 32 Paraorchestra with Brett Anderson and Charles Hazelwood (Suedehead) 27 Chicks on Speed (Chez Wombat) 20 Dolly Dots (WoW73) 16 Dinosaur Jr (Jimwatts) 12 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun (Cody Buckley)

Scores now from Awardinary, who did send an entry but after it was vetoed they withdrew, which is a shame, and also from dandy* who entered Clubdrugs stab at Portishead. 12 points here go to West End Girls and The Breath of Life. Awardinary (No Entry) 12 West End Girls 10 Sylver 08 Fratellis 07 Paraorchestra 06 Rachid Taha 05 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 04 Emma Conquest 03 Adam Lambert 02 Clubdrugs 01 Groove Armada dandy* (Clubdrugs) 12 The Breath of Life 10 Nina Simone 08 Rachid Taha 07 Paraorchestra 06 Tori Amos 05 Emma Conquest 04 William Shatner 03 Kelsey Lu 02 Adam Lambert 01 Sylver Rachid Taha returns to the top by a 3 point margin over Emma Conquest. Sylver and Kelsey Lu lead the chasing pack whilst Nina Simone and The Breath of Life remain strong contenders. Paraorchestra pick up a handful of points to leap well clear of last, leaving that once again to Mr Ed. Scoreboard 68 Rachid Taha 65 Emma Conquest (Severin) 61 Sylver 55 Kelsey Lu 54 Nina Simone (Julian_) 52 The Breath Of Life (Jade) 47 Clubdrugs (clubdrugs) 40 Pentatonix (Herbs) 38 Groove Armada 35 Tori Amos 33 Gigi D’Agostino 30 Sophie Ellis-Bextor 30 Adam Lambert (Scene) 30 West End Girls 27 Chicks on Speed (Chez Wombat) 26 Fratellis (Mango) 26 Halocene (Cowtzy) 25 Paraorchestra with Brett Anderson and Charles Hazelwood (Suedehead) 22 William Shatner 20 Dolly Dots (WoW73) 16 Dinosaur Jr (Jimwatts) 12 Mr Ed Jumps the Gun (Cody Buckley)
