Stone cold sober was what made me buy the album. Im glad i bought it. Plus i think shes one of those artists who has the potential to be HUGE. Would love to see what direction her next album will be. Has anyone bought Jennifers new album 'Love?'. Im considering it but im hoping the two singles arent the only good tracks on there.

I agree on the Nicki Minaj case. The first single had put me right off. Now that she's released songs like moment 4 life, right thru me and now superbass, i might actually purchase it. Not a fan of the colour pink though lol

I think dido is just gonna release her next album with only 1 single lol. I didnt get her last album, might give it a listen. Duffy really annoyed me with her second album. She left her management, completely changed her sound and it turn alienated her fans. Thats why i think no matter how many singles she would of released off this album, the end result would be the same. She should of stayed with the same songwriters lol

I started thinking about this topic in direct response to vidcapper's question. Has there ever been an album you have refused to buy due to the choice of 'debut' single? If so, what album and how many singles did it take before you finally purchased the album? I had this problem when considering buying 'The Beginning' by the Black Eyed Peas. As soon as they released their previous albums after the first single, i would buy the album straight away (From Elephunk onwards). Somehow, this time i found the debut single 'The Time (Dirty Bit)' a little difficult to get into as i was a fan of the song it sampled. But, after hearing further singles 'Just can't get enough' and the new single 'Don't stop the party', i am now more inclined to get the album. Opinions?

As a casual music buyer, i would prefer to see an artist release two singles before an album. That way i can get a glimpse of how different the album can sound rather than from the 'one' single. For instance, i refused to buy leonas second album 'Echo' after hearing 'happy' as i wasnt encouraged enough to buy it. By the second single, it gave me a better informed choice on what other sounds the album can have. In the other hand, the album should be released after the first single in the case of the fans (this should happen beyond their debut album) as it will in doubt capitalise on big first week sales
