I completely agree. It gives it another dimension to that song. For me Ellie Goulding's instrumental of starry eyed 'blows my mind'. Thats also the reason why i bought vinyl versions of songs as they had the radio edit, acapella and instrumental version. As you can tell im a massive dance fan lol As for acts like darude and european dj's, i bought their albums (Before The Storm, Rush, Label This!). My favourite from darude is 'The drums of New York'.
