Today it is our pleasure to publish BuzzJack presents... Rave. Rave is a genre of dance music which evolved from acid house back in the early 1990s. It became characterised by its use of harsher synth sounds, accelerated vocals, break beats, and pianos. It often incorporated sirens, voice over introductions and crowd noise evoking the heightened atmosphere of the warehouses where early illicit raves were held. It exploded into the charts in 1991 and peaked in 1992. Disc 1 features the commercial hits from the era while disc 2 takes us through the harder material. Disc 3 showcases a plethora of euphoric piano rave before finishing with more downtempo tracks. Alas, our compilation isn’t perfect. There were many essential tracks not available on Spotify. We’d have included the following if they had been available. The Source featuring Candy Staton - You Got the Love - the New Voyager mix is available but doesn't have the right aesthetic. Bizarre Inc - Such A Feeling Messiah - Temple of Dreams Bassheads - Is The Anybody Out There? DJ PC – Inssomniak Three tracks weren’t available in their original form but we included remixed versions because they remained true to the original and are recognisably the same song with updated production values. These are Bizarre Inc - Playing With Knives Blue Pearl - Can You Feel the Passion? Dream Frequency - Feel So Real
  4. Are you worried about animals rights activist staging a protest?
  5. Hi. Colm here from the Spodic Empire delegation. Is there any truth in the rumour that Scotland 2's staging will include a 14 minute dance break, 17 blind doves, one small nuclear reactor and a bottle of Heinz low salt tomato ketchup?
  6. My potentials playlist has run dry. 😞

  10. Now have always been good with 1990, for some reason. They just managed to get the track selection right from what was available to them. Or maybe it just suits my taste. Their 1993 release of Now 1990 is very good. https://apopfansdream.files.wordpress.com/2.../now-1990-r.jpg
