  1. I think there was more than one market involved. Take That had entered at number 1 before and would probably have entered at number 1 with a weaker track but with very strong song, a high profile slot at the Brits and pre-release radio play this fed into huge sales. Think Twice was a different beast altogether. Interesting contrast, though, with Think Twice having broken some all-time longevity records and Back for Good setting some precedents.

True but Don Salsa deserved to be in the final.

    Das Boot?
  6. Amend your ways 😁
  7. Wow. This is the best I have done in any competition on BuzzJack. I'm happy that a piece of music that blows me away went down so well with many of the voters. Congratulations to Terra Avium - a nation that I follow with great anticipation in BJSC main and spin-off. Thanks to Noche for wonderful hosting. 😍
  8. Doing so much better than expected. I thought the length would be a deterrent.
  9. Thanks for the points, everyone ☺️
  10. Thanks Zanma and Abel for the points.
  11. I'd love to plot the average chart peak of the tracks on each of the numbered editions, over the years. I'd put money on it peaking in 2000.
  12. Now 45 was one of the best ever.
  13. They're all insane. The same songs that they already have if they have the numbered series and probably several other places too. They'll buy anything with the letters, N, O and W on it.
  14. Yep. Certainly one if my favorite boy band singles of the decade.
  15. Going for broke this time - sink or swim
  16. Was there a Christmas gift card effect at that point in the 80s?
  17. I'm glad Caught in the Middle didn't appear on the worst list.
  18. I'm glad I didn't go for a piano track
  19. I think I might go for a 1990s song this time.
  20. I've messaged Julian separately about this as I hadn't noticed this thread but Mixcloud has over 200 recordings of the BBC Radio 1 chart shows presented by Bruno Brookes, Mark Goodier and others from the 80s, 90s and some from the 2000s. I'm in the process of gathering links (over 200 so far). They are by no means a comprehensive set so it wouldn't be a systematic endeavor like the listening sessions have been. We could just get random.org to select maybe 5 and we vote on which one to listen to.
  21. It's an astonishing piece of music. I only discovered it a few years ago.
  22. Oh, I guess it should have been vetoed. It was such a last minute thing that I didn't even search the site to see if had been entered into another competition. I'm completely fine to be disqualified from this edition.
  23. Representing the Spodic Empire in this competition is Nils Frahm, who describes his composition as Hans Zimmer and Enya making a trance tune together.
  24. Britney Spears - Overprotected Robbie Williams - Feel Ainslie Henderson - Keep Me A Secret Blur - Out Of Time Missy Misdemeanor Elliott feat. Eve - 4 My People (Bassment Jaxx mix)
