Somehow I hadn't noticed Ur the Best Thing. They've done on the numbered series. It would make more sense than PJ and Duncan does.

I don't think we could have asked for a better dance disc than disc 3. And the fact that they didn't put any dance anywhere else makes that disc one of the most coherent and comprehensive discs anywhere in the Yearbook project. Is that enough hyperbole? 🤣 (ok, I think the PJ and Duncan could have been placed elsewhere and D:Ream close the disc instead)

I take photos of song titles. I welcome you to join me. This started when I was working near a shop called Under the Bridge in Dublin. One day, I thought to myself "I wonder how many shops or restaurants have song titles for names in Dublin". I took a wander around a few of the streets thinking I might find 5 or 10. I found 21 That was 5 years ago and it became a hobby since then. I now have more than 350. It has expanded way beyond shop names - posters, signs, app names, maps, street names, warning sings. Almost anything. Most are from Dublin but several are from Copenhagen, Brussels, Amsterdam, Bergamo, Waterford. I exclude books because it became far too easy to wander around a book shop and find hundreds. There are 3 rules It has to a be a song title that I already know and I know who it is by. I can't just take a pic and then try to find a song title to match it. The text must be on its own. It cannot be in the middle of a sentence or phrase. I can't take multiple pics for the same song - unless there are multiple songs with that title, like Stop or Go. I'm going to start posting them in batches according to the first letter. Please join me and post your own.

Well this is a nice surprise. Stem (without the Long Stem when it was released a single) has been one of my favourite pieces of music for decades. I was just mesmerised by it all and then even more amazed when I found out it was done with 100% samples. I hadn't really thought about entering it until last month but I had faith in Bravdo so I thought I would stick with that. Ever since the semis were announced gd kept saying that DJ Shadow will not fail. I had my doubts in even qualifying because this edition was touted to be a pop edition. What a rollercoaster the results were for the Spodic Empire...

I love These Are The Days of Our Lives. I love Sadness too. I think I have it on 7" somewhere.

The absolute best songs from those two bands. Both incredible and certainly highlights of the decade. Mel C's harmonies are so perfect and really poignant. And the video! ❤️

A controversial opinion. Sexy Boy is my least favourite song on Moon Safari and really breaks the flow :( Born Slippy wasn't an immediate hit with me. I found it a bit shouty and it sounded like a drinking anthem with the references to lager. It did grow on me and I do like the way the beats work.

I loved Love Will Tear Us Apart until I heard Atmosphere. Amazing top 10. I'm not posting mine because I am currently building my top 50 of the 80s and will have a thread on it soon.
