  1. Dance music with personality 😎
  2. They were quite entertaining. They had a sense of humour too. The performance of Phorever People on the a Christmas Top of the Pops was great. 😀
  3. LSI was awful, I liked Boss Drum and Phorever People.
  4. 8 The Shamen - Ebeneezer Goode The Shamen didn't leave the top 40 between 18th July 1992 and the following January - such was their single release schedule. I like the verses. I don't really like the chorus. Finished the year as the 13th best seller. Colm's score 6.8
  5. The brass and the whimsical lyrics.
  6. 9 Right Said Fred - Deeply Dippy I expected this to get last place for 1992 but it's improved a lot over the years. While listening to it, I found myself wondering how it would sound if it was covered by the Divine Comedy. I think it would work really well. 12th best seller of 1992. Colm's score 6.7
  7. It probably sounds better in the sun 😎 🌞
  8. 10 Luther Vandross And Janet Jackson With Special Guests BBD And Ralph Tresvant There's nothing wrong with this. I just find it less interesting than anything else in the 1992 list. It was released in the summer so that might explain it's good chart performance. I thought I'd enjoy this more than I do. It finished the year as the 17th best seller Colm's score 6.6
  9. I think we could be looking at a surprise 10 pointer in 1992.
  10. 1992 is decent. Much more enjoyable than 1991. 4 number 1s amongst the bunch.
  11. oooh. I'm surprised that More than Words is getting such support. I thought I'd have been given some sort of warning for liking it :D
  12. 1 Diana Ross - When You Tell Me That You Love Me I know there's little difference between this and the likes of Wind Beneath My Wings or You Raise Me Up. I just like it. It would have been Christmas number 1 if Freddie Mercury hadn't died. Finished as 17th best seller of the year. Colm's score 7.5
  13. 2 James - Sit Down I've never really liked this song much until now. I still don't like the chorus. The verses are great in a sort of comforting, "we're all in this together" inclusivity way. The have, of course, many better songs and I particularly like their 1997 album Whiplash. 20th best seller of 1991. Colm's score 7.3
  14. 3 Extreme - More than Words I didn't think this would be as high as 3 when I started this. It's rather lovely. I know it will have few fans around here, and most probably, some haters. 16th best seller of 1991 Colm's score 7.0
  15. But the face morphing tech is on a different scale in Black and White. The idea was copied but I wouldn't discredit it because it was so well done.
  16. 4 Michael Jackson - Black or White This is so close to a 7.0 and some days it is. The video is a touch maximalist, which is probably the point. I do like that it's joyous and inclusive. The head morphing hasn't dated at all. 13th best seller of the year. Colm's score 6.9
  17. It's better than Justified and Ancient. 😁
  18. It's not even that I overplayed it.
  19. 5 The KLF - 3AM Eternal (Live at the S.S.L.) I find this quite weak compared to What Time is Love? and Last Train to Trancentral. Both of which are 10s. I thought that this would be an automatic number 1 for 1991 but assumptions can be very wrong, sometimes. I know I will be judged harshly for what I have placed above it. 12th best seller of 1991. Colm's score 6.8
  20. There may be one coming up very soon.
  21. Ok. If it's a sex positive or empowering song then I can forgive it. If art is useful or important it doesn't necessarily have to be well rendered.
  22. Of the stuff I know, Rock The Casbah is by far my favourite.
  23. 6 George Michael And Elton John - Don't Let The Sun Go Down On Me (Live) This is just ok. It's hard to quibble with two national treasures doing a live version of an old song for charity. Sometimes it's hard to rationalise how things like this were popular. Top 5 in dozens of countries. Finished as the 15th best seller of 1991. Colm's score 6.7
