I think London Nights would have been my preference too but Requiem felt more deserving. Turn Up the Bass was on the long list.

What an amazing playlist. Great work, Wardy. Solid gold compilation. There can't be many compilations in the world with Frank Zappa and Girls Aloud separated by just two other songs.
  6. Absolutely. The hand claps, the bassline, the samples.
  7. Jack Your Body is easily the pick of the top 10. Although, I do like Is This Love? and Sometimes also
  8. Yay!

The originals wouldn't have fitted there either, though.

Great idea to post it here, Dandy. Thanks Are we to assume that anything on Disc 4 is disliked by you? :D Of course, I will judge your sequencing in the manner that I judge sequencing on Now compilations :arrr: Please make it stop :snif:

Ferry Across the Mersey isn't on Spotify. In general, we included most number 1s unless the artist has had more than one number 1. Buffalo Stance has been reserved for 1988 so that we could have that and Manchild included in the overall project. Likewise, Good Life was included in 1989 so that we could include Big Fun in1988. I actually really liked 1989. I didn't feel I had to reluctantly include much apart from Jive Bunny. I would listen to more than 60 of the songs included. There was a lot of slow songs but I liked many of them. It's a difficult task but I don't think that the Now Yearbook 1989 will be any better than what we've come up with.

Our intention is to replicate what Now should be doing but are not. ;)

In addition, both 2023 and 1989 can each be listened to as one complete collection - for those of you that might like to save playlists to your library.

We've decided to include Personal Jesus as we feel that it deserved inclusion after discussing the matter.

If anyone has trouble viewing or playing the playlists on Spotify, can they let us know?

Quite. 1989 was mosty my work so I must take the blame for this. There's a multitude of factors involved in track selection and we're hoping to improve our skill at this aspect (the most important aspect) of the project. When you've been juggling the same long list of songs for a few weeks your perspective starts to disappear, and this seems to have impacted my ability to cut out the right 20 or more songs to get the list down to below 85. I'm sure things will evolve to be more inclusive in the future.

Is there anything you feel is missing? We'd love to hear suggestions as it will help us with future compilations.

She was on the long list. As was Personal Jesus. We Didn't Start The Fire is on disc 3.
