I think the video's absolutely stunning - possibly her best.... but moreso than ever, it's "Spot the Madonna pastiche / reference / rip-off" in every single scene. It's fun identifying which Madonna video she's copying through the whole 8 minutes, because there's quite a few - Express Yourself, Justify My Love, Like a Prayer, Vogue...to name a handful. The guy on the bed with her at the end is just astonishingly gorgeous, too, which helps matters....
And let's be honest, this is easily her weakest single to date (well, maybe behind the awful Lovegame).... the single sounds like Madonna covering an early ABBA b-side...... but it's top 3 at least I think, because she's releasing several formats including another of the gorgeous 7" picture discs.
I agree on 5 counts.
Great video. The idea of backlit dancers and the Sovietness of it all is great.

I'm not sure I agree, Sev. I'm still a big fan and will be buying the album the day it comes out but they don't really use the intelligence that they claim to have when creating the music - like say Blur or Radiohead do. And while The Holy Bible beats the crap out of nearly every other album ever made they don't have that fierce desire to make something great that those bands still have. To listen to them they'd rather be selling units rather than creating great art.
I haven't really enjoyed much since Lifeblood which took about 3 years to click. However I did listen to Know Your Enemy on Saturday and it's a great album swamped by bad sequencing and too many tracks.
I digress - a once great band doing what many other great bands do and that is continue to make average albums well after their peak.
As I said above - either a complete singles package or a comprehensive best of like Blur did would round things off nicely and then quit!

A lot of the songs im waiting for cant really get any higher in the countdown. It just really "Bad Romance" that im waiting to leave now.
I think that means I Got a Feeling and Sex On Fire are so high up that nothing can catch them
Looking back at the number 2s chart. I take it that two weeks at number 36 would get you more points than a week at number 2?

Very true. I included it in the calculation for the correct points but forgot to added it to the chart run posted so at least the points are still the same
Thanks for that. Its now been corrected.
You lot dont miss a beat do ya lol. Thanks again
Sorry. I know I was being pedantic. I figured if it wasn't me who said it someone else would. it was such a mammoth feat that a few errors are insignificant.
