    Listen Through!?!? I demand one
  3. Congratulations Dandy. Thanks for the 18 and the 12 in the semi 😁
  4. Chart fans of a certain vintage will know that this was, for a time, the best selling single of the 1990s that didn't make the top 3, spending a 1/4 of the year in the top 12. 😁

Of course. It's definitely worth raising to be discussed because who knows how many other people depend on reminders - rightly or wrongly.
  6. 05 - Reel 2 Real featuring The Mad Stuntman - I Like To Move It Ok. So we all know how much I hate reggae. It might come as a surprise than I kinda like dance hall. This is not pure dancehall but it mostly is. The chorus is a bit of a drag but boy, those verses are wonderful. I couldn't get enough of this in 1994 but it was a case of the law of diminishing returns; they never touched gold as much as they did here. Chart fans of a certain vintage will know that this was, for a time, the best selling single of the 1990s that didn't make the top 3, spending a 1/4 of the year in the top 12. Finishing the year as the 15th best seller. Colm's score 8.0
  7. 06 - Mariah Carey - All I Want For Christmas Is You You already know how you feel about this. We kind of take it for granted that this exists so it's worth reflecting on how it sounded in 1994. Answer: effortlessly joyful. 1994 had one of the best Christmas top 2s ever - maybe even the second best after 1987. This finished as the 14th best seller of 1994 and is never ever going to go away. Colm's Score 7.8
  8. Yeah - the top 7 are all very good (I'm sure there will be disagreements about that) Each time I listen to anything in the top 6 I say to myself "I can't put this as low as 6th"

A side note - the ability to keep this contest going in such an efficient manner month after month is nothing short of astonishing. I know it's a well oiled machine but the effort put in appears superhuman to me.
  10. I prefer Who's That Girl to La Isla Bonita but both are very good.

Not to mention Bombalurina to Del Amitri.
  12. The absolute best ones

    What a teaser!
  14. 07 - Ace of Base - The Sign While it's not as good as All That She Wants, it is a decent song. Listening back, it's not as satisfying as I remembered. The USA seemed to love this band in 1994 - appearing 3 times in the top 10 of the year, with The Sign topping the chart. I didn't know that chorus of this song is a common misheard lyric, with some people hearing 'I saw the Sun'. This finished the year as the 11th best seller in the UK. Colm's score 7.1
  15. It was mid.
  16. AI: Your mum does the prompting
  17. I have my shredded wheat ready, Bre.
  18. Fljótavík should start prepping 184 now

Looking forward to this. You've put so much work into it. 🙂
  20. 08 - Come On You Reds - Manchester United & Status Quo I actually like this. This would definitely have been top 4 of 1993. Finished 1994 as the 12th best seller. This is a very cramped top 8. Colm's score 7.0
  21. I'm favouring anonymity for one contest, not to combat favouritism or unconscious bias. Just because I think it would be fun to be part of.
  22. That's a great idea. Are there any downsides?
  23. How can Sasha & Because Of Art // Fused not be in the final!? I am handing back all my BJSC trophies in protest!
  24. Glad you got through. Loved your song.
