  1. Fingers crossed for a Top 40 finish.
  2. No problem. 😁
  3. Did you not receive my votes?
  4. Voted. My top 6 were the same in the semi and in the final - in the same order.
  5. I discovered some of my favorite ever songs on a Now album. In particular, Depeche Mode - Enjoy the Silence, Smashing Pumpkins - Disarm. I also got into Crowded House because they were on Now 26.
  6. Not a strong country for me at all. City Lights was a favourite for a long time but it has dimmed over time. Because of You was such a joyful transformation from the national final. When it won the national final most critics thought it was too dated to qualify. Before the Party is Over is wonderful and spent time at the top of my 2024 ranking for a while. I have a question, though. Why do broadcasters internally select singers who can't sing their song? They need to go and watch the performer live. It's rare that someone is so off key on the Eurovision stage. I always thought the song would suit Duncan Lawrence. Notable songs City Lights ⭐⭐⭐ Because of You⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Before The Party’s Over ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  7. Hooverphonic - Release Me was my least favourite that year. I didn't love their 2021 entry much either. That 2019 entry - were they trying to recreate the vulnerability of Blanche?
  8. Same. Them and The Pixes.
  9. They do try, now and again. 2015 to 2017 was quite a successful time for them. I could never understand the popularity of Rhythm Inside. I still see it in 10's top 10s on YouTube and it seems to be a lot of people's favorite of 2015.
  10. Can you please announce the DNQs with "decision is red card"?
  11. Kylie - All the Lovers. I remember slagging it off at the time.
  12. I know predictions are not a barometer of quality but Wax and Wane not qualifying would make my heart sore. 😕
  13. Not as much as they did at the start. I
  14. I despised Lighthouse Family until High. Great great song.
  15. Notable songs
  16. I can't figure out whether you support Canada's introduction or not. 😀
  17. Globevision
  18. I want to feel like I am not gatekeeping. Maybe I am.
  19. It seem like every decision the EBU has made over the last few years serves to dilute Eurovision. It's all about money now because it continually has to prop itself up due to the fall out of those decisions. Just pitch-correct the singers or allow them to lip-synch and be done with destroying the whole thing in one step, instead of this slow tortured erosion. As gooddelta said yesterday, Eurovision is irrelevant now. Once it was at the forefront of progress and inclusion - a platform for normalising and celebrating LGBT+ entertainment. For giving visibility. It could still have been politically brave by excluding Israel but instead it chose to allow that country to instrumentalise the contest.
  20. I never really liked Don't Leave me This Way. The Chicken Song is far too low.
  21. Summer banger(anga) has been submitted. All fit boys, please take your tops off and dance in the blazing heat.
  22. I can understand why you would hate those 😄 Boys Do Cry is one of my favourites of 2022. What I hated was Not the Same
  23. Such an odd country in the contest, They sent nothing that interested me until 2017 when they manged to send my favourite entry of the year. I love Özünlə Apar and really like Fade to Black also. Although Fade to Black's studio version is offensively pitch corrected in places and the lyrics are terrible. Notable songs Fade to Black ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Özünlə Apar ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Skeletons ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
  24. Austria were intermittently amazing in the 10s. Very obviously, winning the jury twice with Conchita and Cesár, and the gorgeous Loin d'ici. But, my the lows were low. Walking on Air is so mid that even Ireland would have rejected it. And to go from Nobody But You to Limits in 2019 was quite a comedown. Vincent Bueno might as well not have turned up in 2021 with Amen. It was just charmless and self-conscious. But that all changed in 2022 with Halo. It's certainly not the best thing they've ever sent but I liked it a lot. There was a ring of Marina and the Diamonds to it and I'm always up for that. Of course, it was doomed due to the shambolic live rendition. But dance music is generally not a strong performer at Eurovision, even when done well - see also Czechia 2022, Sweden 2026 so there was a limit to how well it could have done. That failure didn't deter them because they then entered their "Ireland in the 90s" era, submitting 3 absolute crackers in a row, all of which spent time as my winner. Edgar is utterly unique - what more can I say? We Will Rave is textbook retro dance heaven for me. Wasted Love is one of my all time favourite entries.. That leaves them firmly my favourite country at Eurovision. I don't anticipate having to score 7 notable songs many times in this thread - apart from my home country. Notable songs Loin d'ici ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Halo ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Who the Hell is Edgar ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ We Will Rave ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Nobody But You ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Wasted Love ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Rise Like a Phoenix ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐
