BJSC 187 Semi Final - the results!!
Delighted to get through. I wasn't confident at first but the reaction at the listen through gave me optimism. All my 10 got through to the final.

Now That's What I Call Music!
Thanks but you have managed to misunderstand my question a third time. Enjoy your yearbooks!

Now That's What I Call Music!
You answered it by explaining the sequence of your preference or the sequence thus far. I wasn't challenging or asking you justify your preference. My question was much wider than that. Just simply why do you care about the order? If they get released in some other order, is that a significant inconvenience to you?

Now That's What I Call Music!
I think you're missing my question. I'm not asking you to explain your justification about the sequence of release with years and decades. I'm asking why you care about the order at all.
-
Now That's What I Call Music!
Ok but you're not telling me why you have a preference. Why is the order important? Surely it just matters that they get released.

Now That's What I Call Music!
Can I ask why the order of release is something you have a preference for?

My Eurovision rankings, country by country
Bulgaria is an all time top 5 Eurovison country for me now. I'm delighted that they finally got their win. Water certainly seems to be a lot more engaging than most other stuff that year. Quite hypnotic. Glad it did well. Never liked Beautiful Mess. But you can't argue with the jury and televote throwing points at it to such an extent. As gd pointed out, imaging getting +600 points and only coming second. It was a weak year I guess so the whole continent had eyes/ears for only a handful of songs. Angel Si Ti has a fairly ordinary chorus but I love everything else about it. The verse melody, the dramatic strings, the piano. A flawless vocal too. I find myself watching the winner's performance of Bangaranga more than the original performance. As discussed on Youtube, it couldn't have been any better if it was directed - the improvisation in the green room, by Dara and the dancers. The way she perfectly arrived at the top of the stairs to sing the first verse. The triumphant walk down the stairs. The way she skipped along the catwalk with the flags flying. One of the best Eurovision moments ever. Notable songs Tears Getting Sober ⭐⭐⭐⭐ If Love Was a Crime ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Angel Si Ti ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bones ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Bangaranga ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐

How many months should I wait before I send my 24 minute electronic masterpiece? Ps - it does not sound the same the whole way through.

How many song contests have you won on Buzzjack?

How many song contests have you won on Buzzjack?
Someone on CHC/Cool Clarity - which I joined 20 years ago this year. I've now known Dandy* and a few others for 2 decades.

How many song contests have you won on Buzzjack?
Zero. I sorta know what I like but I never know what others will like. I messed up a few times. There was a Club Bizarre edition on acid house/80s dance so, with my Unknown Pleasure hat on I went looking for something obscure and when the entries were announced I knew most of them and The Beloved won. I should have been able to do well in that. I came second in a spin-off. There can't be many people on this site that named two of the contests (Buzzjack Nuggets and The Best Song Contest in the world...Ever!) and never won anything.

Everything I do is a work of art. It's been this way since the very start.

If I had a street, this would be right up it. Narrowing down the options that I have.. Looking forward to discovering new artists.

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts of the 1990s
It's astonishing that the average Spice Girls single sold 800k copies.

BJSC 187: Confirmations
Because that's not their aim. I would hope that getting veto points isn't anyone's aim but here we are ....🤣

Top 100 Best Selling Singles Acts of the 1990s
I lived through the 90s but I It can't be far ahead of Frozen as that ended 1998 in a similar end of year position as Beautiful Stranger did in 1999.

BJSC 187: Confirmations
I wasn't suggesting that we should all find songs with zero veto points. I would say many of mine would have racked up a few.

BJSC 187: Confirmations
That's a fair point. I have put stuff into Spolfest that I didn't know was very well known. I was just going by the chart peak.
-
BJSC 187: Confirmations
There's literally hundreds of millions of songs available to enter - why is it so hard to find one that doesn't rack up the veto points?
-
BJSC 187: Confirmations
In the spirit of disclosure, I might as well state outright which countries' entries I never listen to out of choice. Just so you know.... Zantimony, or whatever it's called. You can literally hear everyone's eyes rolling during the listen throughs. Ronseal KFC - like, WTF? No wonder they don't qualify any more. So-predictable-asma - the Sovarasma curse is so bad they managed to NQ a song that won dozens of other online contests.
