Thanks to those who voted for Eivor, especially pleased to see it being very well received amongst the early voters, and I’m very happy with a top 20 placing for our 50th and final entry. It was great to rejoin the contest while being furloughed, and if we go into lockdown again then I’ll probably be back, but I’m finding it hard to take in each contest fully now so this feels like a good natural conclusion for our nation. I’ve done the same for ABBA, think I’ve bought 14 versions of that so far, but I don’t go as mad for any other acts. If I buy multiple copies of an album for anyone else, it’s usually just a CD and a Vinyl. If the sales gap is incredibly low between the two and Steps clinch it, then there’ll probably be a lot of fans out there feeling that it was justified spending so much money :kink: The Deluxe CD. The individual CDs have gone into a display cabinet, replacing the individual TOTD CDs, the rest have just been stored away in the rest of my collection.

Their remixes of Euphoria and Neon Blue complete my top 3.

Btw, if anyone downloaded Heartbreak or Slightest Touch off of the album on iTunes, then it’s only £3.41 to get them an extra sale by “completing your purchase” of the album :P

At least 60% of the album has to be downloaded to count, so don’t just download the mixes folks, download everything!

Just bought and downloaded the remix bundles. Also downloaded all of the digital versions that came with the CDs I ordered from their store, in the hope that they might also be added to the sales total? :unsure: Probably not, but heck, it’s only an extra 8 ZIP files if they don’t count but 8 extra sales at no extra cost if they do :lol:

Finally got round to listening to the album after being on holiday and it being held hostage by the neighbours! Initial thoughts: - The extended intro to Take Me For A Ride REALLY elevates the whole song, and takes it into lead single worthy territory for me - Wasted Tears is decent enough, but I’m not sure it’s single material… - A Hundred Years of Winter is bloody gorgeous, absolutely stunning. It gives me Call The Shots vibes and feels like it could be their magnum opus if it is indeed the next major single release. I hope it has a really good video to do it justice. - Living In A Lie is very ABBA by numbers, but it feels a little forced and false as a result? - The covers of A Million Years and Victorious are fine, I don’t understand the hate for them I’ve seen all over Twitter. Claire’s money note in Victorious though… omg - High is the only real dud here. - The Slightest Touch should have had a bigger push as a single. I haven’t listened to the remixes yet, but I do love the aesthetic of the individual covers bundle. Not surprising to see them falling behind to the Manics, it does feel like this campaign hasn’t got the momentum behind it as the first part had, and casual fans are possibly confused about what this release is?

I’d probably buy a second set if they released an unsigned bundle :lol:

I was very tempted to send it, but I think it was the right decision to send the English version in the end given how close it was to NQing and my track record on non-English tracks isn’t great! Also, it’s not available on Spotify or YouTube which would have been a nuisance for hosts! I still wanted to share it though as it’s an equally as lovely track in the native language.
