Well, after initially being fairly nonplussed about Glorious, I absolutely love it now! Really hope it wins tonight, although I do like all the entries apart from Söhne Mannheims. Cascada and Ben Ivory appear to be the favourites tonight. From what I've read, they are doing the best in the polls. The Amazon sales ranking for the singles is quite interesting too... #34 Ben Ivory #47 Cascada #51 Blitzkids.mvt #52 Saint Lu #72 Finn Martin #73 Nica & Joe #90 Betty Dittrich #95 Söhne Mannheims Mobilee's entry has been out for months so it's hard to tell how popular their song will be, it's currently way down the sales rank though. Mia Diekow and Die Priester haven't released singles for their entries and LaBrassBanda seems to be doing absolutely nothing at all.

I don't think anyone has said anything about actually considering to go that strict with the vetoes. We're just presenting what the scenario would be if we were that strict. Obviously it wouldn't be a pleasant one so we're highly unlikely to do it. To be honest, I haven't been looking too closely at voting trends. I just said that I had to try and persuade any that might exist to stop. That said, I have questioned the patterns of a handful of nations, but until I find time to go through everybody's votes (Which will be never, I barely have enough time to post in here let alone put a microscope over every single point that's being dished out between 50+ countries.), then no names will be mentioned, as these patterns I have picked up on might be the same across the board. Like I said, I thought I'd mention it anyway to try and put a stop to any that might exist. The wrong semi effect has been the bane of my life in this contest :drama: Yeah, The Deserters isn't that catchy, but with such wonderful instrumentation I wouldn't have thought how catchy it is would have come into it. But then, this forum's definition of a good song (apparently, it's Georgia) eludes me and has done for the best part of a year.

We have to draw lines in the veto process somewhere. If it were up to me alone, I'd rather this contest had more focus on the "unknown" side of songs than it does now with tighter rules, but I know the majority of people don't want that to happen so it won't. In all honesty, I just wanted to let off some steam a bit. Sorry it came across a bit rude, but it was meant to be tongue-in-cheek. When one finds a song that's not a million miles away from stuff that qualified (Two Men In Love, Fools), not a million miles away from stuff that's won in the past (Riverside, Video Games), and not a million miles away from previous fairly successful own entries (Wear It Like A Crown, Lady Marlene), yet still manages to majorly flop then one has to wonder why it's happened. Add this to the fact that being a BJSC mod is not the most rewarding job and can be very time consuming, then it can get annoying if your entries keep failing. Especially when you can't figure out why that is. In the end, one has to weigh up whether the work that's put in is worth it. Yes, maybe I am feeling a tad bitter, but I think anyone would if they put so much in and got very little out.
