Bombo is so basic it hurts and she cannot sing to save her life. It would be an overwhelming embarrassment of Guri Schanke proportions at Eurovision. It might work if it were a Czech entry, but Norway can do so much better and have the option to do so with Margaret.

Sirkus Eliassen coming second makes me feel a bit more confident about Margaret winning this thing. Just got to hope Bombo doesn't suddenly become the favourite to win!

Gianluca seemed to emerge as a favourite last night, so I'd say it's between him and Kevin with Claudia and Davinia as outside contenders. I'd be quite surprised if any of the others triumphed.

My thoughts: David Lindgren - Skyline: There's no way this is missing the final, although I find it all a bit colour-by-numbers. He's basically a third rate Danny, with whiny vocals and that break down is a complete mess. Sweden will love it though, and with no entry from Danny in the contest this year it's probably going to come top 3 in the final. Cookies N Beans - Burning Flags: Much prefer this one to Skyline, especially liking the strings. Sadly it has got no hope. It's definitely a lot better than the similar sounding Abalone Dots entry from last year, more rhythmic and the chorus is punchier. Jay-Jay Johanson - Paris: Yeah, it may well come 8th but I really like it! It's got an air of A Place To Stay about it, which I also loved, but this is even more intriguing. Such a shame it'll be completely lost on most. Mary N'Diaye - Gosa: This would probably do better in the German selection, can't see Sweden taking to it at all. It sounds alright in it's studio form even if the chorus is incredibly annoying. Goodness knows what it'll sound like tonight though! Eric Gadd – Vi kommer aldrig att förlora: This could do alright actually as it's the only song in the heat that will appeal to a certain audience. I personally don't like it, but AC is definitely not out of the question for it. YOHIO - Heartbreak Hotel: This is pretty decent, probably will join David in going to the final. There's always a token rock track in the final and I assume this is probably as close to rock as we'll get this year. Anna Järvinen – Porslin: I fail to see what is apparently so special about this. It's pleasant enough, but it's 4th place at best here for her I'd say. I suppose there's a chance she could do a Caroline af Ugglas but she doesn't have the endearing craziness Caroline had in 2009 and therefore I think this will just come across as incredibly boring. Michael Feiner & Caisa – We’re Still Kids: I'm not a big fan of the saxophone, but this is my second favourite of the bunch. How well it will do depends on how good Caisa is at singing live. It could easily do a Hanna Lindblad/The Attic/Marie Serneholt and completely flop. Overall, a shockingly poor first heat compared to the last 4 years. There's a number of decent tracks, but there's nothing incredibly special here.

I feel like I've been watching this semi final for about a month, and we're only half way through the songs :drama: Claudia Faniello by far the strongest so far...

Quite a good choice. I rather liked her 2011 entry... YquctqSclFI Her live vocals aren't the best though.

From the short clip, it seems to be my favourite from the heat! I think it might do a bit better than most people think.

Disappointing selections of songs there, couldn't care less about any of them! :lol: I think David & YOHIO will go to the final, Anna & Michael Feiner/Caisa to AC, then 5th-8th: Eric Gadd, Jay-Jay Johnson, Cookies N Beans and Mary N'Diaye in that order. Seriously disappointed with that Mary N'Diaye track, could be a grower but at this moment in time it just sounds irritating.

Indeed, and I just don't think Europe will like the Solli-Tangen track enough either. We will of course have to wait and see what the third Norwegian heat has in store though! Susanne Sundfør? Gabrielle? :o (Probably not, but you never know!)

Thanks Liam! I've not heard the new Madness album, but I've heard good things about it! I'd definitely recommend getting hold of a Greatest Hits of theirs though! I do prefer Fjellfolk at this moment in time, but I would much rather Margaret go to Eurovision! It would be one of the most innovative Eurovision entries in ages! Thanks for posting!

Well it's probably going to be better than that AWFUL Lys Assia track. As long as the song is decent and more suited to her age this time, I think Valentina could do alright!

Hey! My comments: 8. Emmelie De Forest - Only Teardrops (NEW) (CR-8) It's early days, but this is the frontrunner to win at the moment. Not that it has any competition right now :lol: . It does stand a good chance though I think. 22. Daze - We Own The Universe (NEW) (CR-22) I was surprised at how good this song came across on stage! Definitely in my DMGP top 3 for this year. 25. Margaret Berger - I Feed You My Love (NEW) (CR-25) I was very worried that Norway would do the same to this as they did to Lise Karlsnes, so I was thrilled it won the heat! Unless there's something even more fantastic in the third heat, this has to be the entry they choose. I did prefer the Fjellfolk song, but in terms of what is better to send to Eurovision and what is most innovative, Margaret is leagues ahead! 31. Annsofi - I'm With You (NEW) (CR-31) This was quite a revelation! The ending is a bit lazy, but on the whole it's a very nice ballad! 39. Mohamed Ali - Unbreakable (NEW) (CR-39) I ended up getting more of a "Another Summer Night" vibe off this than an "Amazing" one. It's decent enough, but I'm so glad Emmelie was chosen instead! 44. Shackles - On Hold (NEW) (CR-44) A shame this failed, but ultimately the three best songs did qualify from that second heat 48. Gromth feat Emil Solli-Tangen - Alone (NEW) (CR-48) I actually don't mind this one! Emil's bits are really good, and he's a far more competent singer than his brother!

Nice to see Within Temptation climbing and that new Nelly Furtado single is her best in a while! :D
