I was really impressed with last night's show. Ended up downloading 3 out of 4 competing songs, Beady Belle surprised me so much - loved that one, she was like a Norwegian Roisin Murphy. Obviously, Monument is the song to send - it's got Eurovision winner vibes all over it despite it being so early in the season. Unfortunately, I do think TIX might cause an upset in the MGP results - unless a jury vote could potentially take him down? Even then though, the song has a sensibility that it could appeal to a jury anyway. Norway would crash and burn in the semis at Eurovision with TIX though I reckon - it feels like some kind of in-joke to anyone who isn't Norwegian! I've heard that he will translate his entry to English should it be chosen, so perhaps it would have more international appeal once that happens?

I can envisage "Jodel Time" becoming some kind of yodelling/multi-language lip sync challenge.

Grandfather Clock: Joe Hart/David James (I flit back and forth between them as I’m not a football expert, but these feel like the right fit) Harlequin: Gabrielle (It surely must be? The vocals are identical!) Robin: Aston Merrygold (So many clues point to him - performed with Westlife on X Factor, JLS had an album called Outta This World, played for England Youth and has done Soccer Aid, did an impression of Michael Jackson on Stars In Their Eyes kids...) I wish I’d had the same foresight! I’m clearly very out of touch with what is and isn’t veto-worthy these days, pretty despicable for a former mod, but then that was the main reason why I stepped down :lol: Most of what was being vetoed was completely unknown to me, and it’s still the same now! I’ve made some great discoveries from the veto list alone since rejoining the contest. Time to think of another entry then!
