  1. Me too, but I'm not sure they are too sad to see the back of Sheen, it hints in the guardian article that he was abusive towards the crew, and CBS were/are still scared of lawsuits against them. They let them go so they aren't getting paid anymore. CBS had to pay the crew and also had to pay to keep the set in place while Sheen was pulling himself together in rehab, and the cost of keeping on doing this while Sheen showed no signs of calming his $h!t down was a big reason why they cancelled the rest of the season. Even if the show does come back next season, it will most likely be without him.
  2. Could someone PM me a link please?
  3. I just can't see Sheen pulling his $h!t together to be honest, even if CBS are warning him they are prepared to axe the show, and I don't think the show would work without him. I can't imagine how pissed the other actors must be.
  4. Thanks, once again, for your constructive comments.

  7. She's still at the top of US iTunes more than two weeks after it was released despite no video, so there's no way her sales are going to collapse anytime soon, she's already bucking the normal trend. Plus, she's getting fantastic airplay; despite the fact that her first few days of immense airplay are now no longer counted towards her AI, she's already gaining again. So it looks like she will be #1 over there for a while, especially with the video out on monday, and it's looking likely it will be one of, if not the, biggest hits of the year in the US. :o
  11. Source: http://www.pinknews.co.uk/2011/02/21/targe...lady-gaga-deal/ I think things like this, shows that GaGa isn't just exploiting the gay community, but is genuinely trying to use her influence to promote gay rights. YOU GO GIRL.
  12. It's natural for it to go down, it has held up remarkably well for a song that relied on the name to sell. She has yet to do promotion over here or release the video, so it's just a waiting game to see if it has already peaked. I can see it selling well in the long run regardless.

Oooh Trainspotting at the bottom, controversial. That seems to be universally seen (or at least by fans) as his best film. 28 Days Later I think is pretty overrated myself, although I haven't seen it in years, so maybe my taste has changed. Millions is another one I need to see. And Shallow Grave is also most certainly on my list, have read a lot about it, seems very much my type of thing. Seeing as how you ranked Slumdog Millionaire and Sunshine as your favourites I think you will really like this, it has the same visual flair and emotional impact as those.
  14. I'll be up for this too.
  15. O dear.
  16. Lady GaGa said Madonna's people sent her an email, just because this representative isn't aware of it doesn't mean it does not exist, and I very much doubt she would make such a claim on national television if it weren't true. And the rest about Madonna being angry just seems like media spin to be honest, until I hear it from the horses mouth, I don't believe it. This report has been out for a while as well, so I very much doubt that any 'spectacular response', according to this so-called-source, is going to happen.

haha I'm a bad sleeper anyway, so I'm sure it doesn't make much of a difference :P It's been on my to-watch-list for ages now, but whenever I get the spare cash to buy a movie, I always get the more recent releases and I always miss it when it's on TV (like I'll switch over and it's already half-way through), so it gets neglected. I may just have to get it now I'm in a Danny Boyle mood, although still need to get Transamerican as well (my local HMV didn't have any copies when I went in yesterday - we have such a $h!tty store).

Sunshine will always remain my favourite film by Boyle (though admittedly, I am yet to see Shallow Grave or Trainspotting) but I thought it showed all of his best qualities as a director, and I think it seems deceptively shallow. It's such a life affirming film. Personally, I'm torn between Firth and Franco, though at the moment I'm leaning more towards the latter. He gave such a naturalistic performance, and he could get across a range of emotions with just a look in his eyes. Maybe I was just swept along with the film, but I thought the score/cinematography/editing/lighting were all outstanding, and if I had to rank the scores it would be for me The Social Network>127 Hours>True Grit>Black Swan>Inception>King's Speech. Though like you said, they are all fantastic and it's a shame that Black Swan couldn't be nominated. I also think Danny Elfman's score for Alice in Wonderland deserves some attention, say what you like about the awful direction, but the score was at times a thing of beauty.

Wow, wow, wow, WOW. Just can't form coherent sentences about this right now, just such a visceral and moving experience. It had the same emotional punch that Sunshine had for me. This may not win the major awards, but none of the other Best Film nominees (yet to watch Winter's Bone) had such a kinetic, powerful flow to it that this does, other than perhaps True Grit. The choices of the songs where perfect in order to connect with not only his memories, but our own (well at least for me). A.R Rahman's score matches Tret Reznor's and Atticus Ross's for me as well, and it would be criminal if it doesn't get original song. It's a utter shame that this is getting overlooked in favour of Black Swan, King's Speech etc. Only The Social Network beats this for me very narrowly, with True Grit in third. Oh, yeah, I cried LIKE A BITCH. Edit: Just realised it's Dido who sings If I Rise, I thought I recognised the voice.
  20. It came out the same week as The Fighter on the 4th so, 17 days ago. It was barely promoted, and it wasn't shown in my local cinema (how I wish I had a local arthouse!) so you may have missed it.
  21. That was different because the single was building steam slowly instead of peaking and dropping, plus GaGa had already done promotion and a performance of it on Jonathon Ross not long before the video was out, so it was already Top 20 or higher on iTunes by the time the video premiered; so it didn't have as much of a climb as HIAM does. Normally, it depends on how popular the track is for a video to have the best effect, like Rihanna with S&M, that was already climbing due to how much it was being cherrypicked from the album, so by the time the video came out, it just helped it go faster up the chart the way it was already going. So HIAM has a harder job of reversing its trend downwards, and back up again, and it's doing pretty well so far.
  22. This. Releasing in the same time frame has had a far bigger impact on the pop scene than had they released further apart; it's like dropping two massive bombs one after the other. Better sales all round.
  23. If you haven't already seen it, you should check out the French horror film Ils (Them) that The Strangers was based on. Much more gritty, the closing shot of the movie is especially chilling. yFTbcDRkG1o
  24. She said on Jay Leno the video will be out within the week, so unless we are subject to countless delays a la Alejandro, it seems likely. GaGa also tweeted this rather lovely cover aswell. xG0wi1m-89o&feature=player_embedded#at=70
  25. As of thursday, BTW is #4 on US Airplay with an audience impression of 95,667,000 million (+ 11.5 million). So she should reach an audience of over 100,000,000 in a week beating the previous record held by Janet Jackson (with 70 million). Officially she has charted during her first week at #6 with an audience of over 78 million. Apple has also announced today that Born This Way has sold 1 million digital copies WW in 5 days to become iTunes fastest selling single of all time. http://www.mtv.com/news/articles/1658317/l...ay-itunes.jhtml Chart updates Canada (Hot 100): #1 Canada (Digital Songs): #1 USA (Hot 100): #1 USA (Digital Songs): #1 New Zeland: #1 Ireland: #1 Spain: #1 Finland: #1 Belgium (Flanders): #2 Greece (Nielsen Digital): #2 France: #2 Italy (FIMI):#2 Sweden: #2 Belgium (Wallonia): #3 Europe (Europarade): #3 UK: #3 Denmark: #4 Italy (Digital): #5 MEDIATRAFFIC: #1
