I hope your song wins too, after hearing him in Unknown Pleausres as well, I've fallen in love with the guy  Also, shocked that you said your No.1 is one of the best you heard in the last 10 years, very random you found a song that good amid the rest of the songs you hate.

What Are You Listening To.....

I'm so glad you love it Jark, it's such a long wait for the second half of season one! Can't wait for you to start on Battlestar Galactica now to see what you think, as you are the first person I know who is starting with Caprica instead of the other way round.

bjscXX:VIII / FINAL / zagorasta:KOPEČKA
"Catchy-ish but not really my sort of song There's nothing at all interesting/memorable/stand-out or at all appealing about this song, it's just 'there' Memorable chorus but the rest of it didn't appeal to me at all" I think one of these is me gooddelta, although I'm probably well off. It would be a great end for New Caprica if Flyleaf could top Girls' Generation, or better yet, finish outside of the Bottom 10 completely!

Inception (From the Director of The Dark Knight)
AMAZING, AMAZING, AMAZING! That's all I've got to say about it, I need more time to digest it and need to see it at least once more before I make up my mind completely, but one of my favourite movies already. If you think of that scene in The Dark Knight (possibly the best one) when Nolan confidently moves the story around the three targets that the Joker wants to kill, as the tension builds up to when he breaks into the party: magnify that by 100 and you will start to get the idea of how masterfully directed and edited the inception dream sequences (which take up one half of the film) are. Nolan has had romantic storylines in his other films, but he has never done one this beautifully and tragically, that is the beating heart of the film. The ending really did leave a tear in my eye, the final image we are left with was just inspired  The themes Nolan deals with; reality and death, are explored wonderfully. Also this set of characters he has created are possibly the most fleshed out out of all of his movies, even if Ellen's character is really just one big plot device (her acting was still great regardless). One thing though: no sequel please, the ending really is perfect and one isn't required.

Caprica
Nope, and I am totally disgusted, they completely messed up and I didn't expect Sky do something like that. No word as of yet, the first season will have 19 episodes (down from 20 due to budget) and the second half will be shown starting September. Word is they will make an announcement about Season 2 at this years comic-con.

top 10 TV shows?
Nicely put, and nice to see some more Damages love, I'm devasted it's increasingly looking like it's going to be cancelled. I really want to watch In Treatment, I've heard nothing but good things.
-
Caprica
Firefly :( I'm still bitter Fox cancelled that.... <_< Also, Alias is great, but gets a bit silly to say the least towards the end. I'd say watch BSG before you watch Caprica, it's fine to watch it without seeing the former first, but if you already plan on watching BSG, it will be a better viewing experience for you. Plus, BSG special effects are just the bomb, and absolutely gobsmaking for a TV show. This is like, the thousandth time I posted this video, but it's worth a watch if you haven't seen it already, and you can see what I mean about the effects, especially with the clips of the war scenes at the end  q2x14ZhEc9k

Inception (From the Director of The Dark Knight)
Totally agree with you, it's a shame that tracking suggests the weekend gross will only be around $45million, but that's pretty decent considering it's got a complex concept compared to most blockbusters. Hopefully word of mouth will mean it will have the legs to make a decent profit. I believe it very well could be a masterpiece, this is a film he has been passionate about making for a while now, and it seems to be very intimate despite the action, and seems to be tackling some interesting themes and subject matter in a unique way, through the idea of dreams. The Prestige (one of the best twists) and Momento are both classics, and like you said, Insomnia is his weakest film, but I still enjoyed it. It also seems that he has blossomed into directing action, which bodes well for Batman 3. I may not a get a chance to see this tomorrow as I will be busy getting ready to leave, which is a shame, I would have to watch the first showing, but I will have to skip a lesson that I can't afford to miss. And damn straight about the Oscars, the only reason it got a chance to be nominated in the first place was because of the change in rules following the uproar at The Dark Knight snub. Nice to hear that, I hope you enjoy it :)

Do you like to Watch Animated series?
South Park is one of my favourite television series of all time. Can't wait for the second half of Season 14, it's been too long  I also love Family Guy (even though I can't stand Seth MacFarlane), American Dad!, The Simpsons and Futurama.

Never Let Me Go (Based on "The best book of the decade")
Director Spike Jonze has seen early footage of the film, and said it made him cry. "It seems like this film is amazingly under the radar right now. But when I was in England, our good friend Mark Romanek was filming a movie adapted from the book of the same name by Kazuo Ishiguro and I got to visit him on the set and sneak into his edit room on a weekend and see some of it. I don’t know what I can and cant say about it but I love the story. Even just a few scenes he showed me on their own were really moving. The combination of a science fiction film handled very subtly and naturalistically that also made me cry and is beautifully photographed (Adam Kimmel) is a trifecta. Congrats Mark!! We will post more as we can. Here is a shot stolen from the edit room that gives some sense of the look of the film and Mark at lunch on weekend. We had insane Japanese food at a place called Roca on Charlotte street." Source: http://theplaylist.blogspot.com/2009/11/ea...e-go-makes.html edit: I can't stop listening to the piece of music they used in the trailer, Peter Vronsky's Reprise, which was taken from The Door in the Floor soundtrack, so beautiful  l_xqCT7j5Og

The Writer | 4th single
You Got The Love was at first only a b-side to Dog Days, she also did another a cover of Hospital Beds for the b-side of her first single Kiss With A Fist too, so she didn't record it just for the sake of having a hit. It only got a single release due to how many people cherry picked it off the album and the positive reaction the song got when she performed it on tour. She was just giving the people what they wanted.

top 10 TV shows?
Which of the two shows have you watched out of interest? And yeah, you definitely should, The Wire is fantastic, I've only seen the odd episode here and there, but what I've seen has been compelling. I've not a heard a bad thing about it. One show I would say you have to watch before you die, and the best of the last decade by a mile, is Six Feet Under: it's essential viewing. It's created by Alan Ball, the same man who wrote American Beauty, and its theme tune is composed by American Beauty composer Thomas Newman. The soundtrack in general, the acting, the direction: everything about it is perfection. It's a shame really, we do documentaries very well, I don't know why we haven't got much diversity when it comes to drama shows. There was an interesting discussion about this on newsnight a while back.

top 10 TV shows?
The Sopranos, Angel, The West Wing kicked off the decade - then you got Curb Your Enthusiasm, Alias, Band of Brothers, CSI, 24, Six Feet Under, Firefly, The Wire, The Shield, Arrested Devlopment, Battlestar Galactica, Lost, Deadwood, Supernatural, Dexter, Mad Men, Breaking Bad, Damages, Sons of Anarchy, True Blood and more I can't think of at the moment. American TV is fantastic, compare their original dramas to ours, and it really shows how our television series are really, just crap. We do well with costume and one-off dramas - but long running TV shows, aside from Doctor Who (which I think is awful) what do really have to show for?

The Writer | 4th single
Really? I think Flo is easily the best out of all the recent indie chicks; she has the more distinctive voice, and the best and most powerful lyrics and sound. Marina is a not-to-distant second, Boots third and Ellie last - her voice is quite bland, any edge is lost with the electronic tinkering she does to it: she has some strong lyrics, and beats, her voice is just unexciting imo. This Love (Will Be Your Downfall) is the only song I love by her  I actually really like the melody at the start of The Writer, the verses are okay, but I don't like the chorus much if at all, although there are some nice lyrics.
