  1. I think it's done so well because the lyrics, video and production have combined to make a really strong single, the "yeah, yeah, yeah" is a great catch, and I agree with the comparison to Kids. I think it will appeal to lots of different people, regardless of their prefered genre, I think at the very least it will go Top 10, but then again I've only been a part of the BJSC for 2 contests, so my opinion might not be that valuable. And oh dear, me sounding like a loon, and I only found out they exsisted today through Unknown Pleasures! when something has a big enough impact on me though, I go crazy in learning more about the artist/listening to their other songs. I've already played them 33 times today not including youtube, and they are already my second most played artist of the week on Last fm :D I think you should listen to All Of This, which is their most known song after Young Blood, the video for that is visually stunning, and I'm already liking it as much as YB  All the videos I've seen so far have been breathtaking, and the lead female singer Alisa Xayalith is so cute. The Sun is lyrical genius (although that can apply to all their songs) "Here it comes, the unavoidable sun, of what's just happened and what's been done." And it builds to a pounding cresendo. There are other good tracks on their CDs, like Serenade (which is quite different and upbeat) but All of This and The Sun are early stand outs for me (they are the videos I posted before).
  2. True. I've been listening to their back catalogue, and it's all incredible, I hopefully will have downloaded their two CDs by the end of the night :D if you entered Young Blood I think it will be another win for you, it seems to be universally loved, the positive reaction and the No.1 hit in NZ is quite surprising considering it's a through and through alternative song.
  3. Interesting, after hearing them for the first time on the Unkown Pleasures contest in the Indie forum, I've already become a bit of a loon for The Naked and Famous, and was going to enter either All of This or The Sun by them. 1WSCKI4WqO8 mCHuNpkGvSo I did have a feeling though having already been entered for a BJ song contest, and after the succes in NZ, they might be a lot of interest in them. So it's no surprise when I say Young Money gets my vote, my favourite song of the year so far. That video just seems to be bursting with energy and life
  4. I meant it will follow a similar pattern, in that it will peak high in its first week and then drop quickly, it might very well stick around in the lower ends of the chart longer than Once did, but that's not the point I was making. All Night Long is a very good song that was a fan favourite before its release and was selling at first based on cherry picking and good word of mouth, that positive reaction is why it had longevity; Start Without You is weak in my opinon and general opinion seems very divided among her fanbase, hence why I think the chart run will be poor.
  5. I'm going to watch all the videos first to familiarise myself with them, then put the mp3s into a playlist, and loop it until I've listened to them all a good few times each, before I start eliminations. edit:  @ Britney. I've listened to the first fourteen songs, just over half way through and it's very varied and there's not one song I dislike, will listen to the rest later on tonight and put the mp3s on my iPod.
  6. Young Blood gave me chills, that video is amazing

I disagree with this, American TV has gone from strength to strength over the last decade.
  8. Here's a brand new trailer that came bundled with the new, LEGO Harry Potter: Years 1-4, game. It's only a minute long, and is mainly clips from the previous two trailers re-packaged, but there are a couple of new scenes. RKAkrO8-dds
  9. That is incredible  and strangely emotional.
  10. Hope it's alright if I enter, I'm uploading a song now.

I love you  so glad you liked it, it is the greatest TV show to grace our screens by miles. That and BSG will most likely never be beaten for me. 01) Six Feet Under! AEK7-yZovUM&feature=player_embedded#! 02) Battlestar Galactica q2x14ZhEc9k 03) True Blood 04) Lost 05) Buffy the Vampire Slayer 06) South Park 07) 24 08) Damages 09) Angel 10) Caprica Just started watching the West Wing, and it is pretty darn impressive.

I don't think it will be a complete rape, if it follows the original enough it can't be; but if it is a shot-by-shot adaption then it will be soulless, and its existence regardless is entirely unnecessary, just as much as the [Rec.] remake was. There's just no point to it, and there's no defense to that. Just watch the original! Also of note, the morse code at the end of the trailer translates to 'help me'.
  13. I agree with you that BB8 and BB10 had more unlikeable people (although I loved Hera, really wanted her to win ). I guess it's more this week, a lot of people have gone down in my estimations, or frustrate me, especially during crispsgate, but you're right when you say we haven't really got 1 any dimensional characters this year.
  14. In most cases, new housemates don't get very far, or make much of an impact, unless they're eccentric or likeable enough not to get lost in an already formed group of housemates e.g. Brian, Bea, Sara, Aisleyne and Eugene. I'm actually beginning to tolerate Shabby, but I still believe she is playing a character she came up with before entering the house (all housemates do that to an extent, but I've never known someone do it in the way she's done), and still find her to be very manipulative. After Govan left, she commented that she thinks Caoimhe is portrayed as two-faced and a bitch on the outside, and that's why their group is unpopular (and why Govan left) and since then there has been a noticeable change in her tactics in her personality and 'storyline', especially towards Caoimhe e.g. her talk with her about Sunshine (which is funny, seeing as how Shabby ripped into her that night just as much as Caoimhe did); in effect she's thrown her under the bus which has worked. I'm also finding pretty much everyone to be more and more unlikeable as the show goes on - Coirin, JJ, Ben, Steve, Ife and Sunshine are just the best of a bad bunch.

I know, still doesn't stop the teaser from being $h!t and absolutely laughable. I just hope that with such talent behind it, the film itself will be measurably better.
  17. That would be perfect casting.
  18. This is a important reason why I think it will have such a high peak and decent first week sales, although I can't see it sticking around much after that inital surge. I think it will follow a similar pattern to Once.
  19. If the promo is good (which will most likely be the case), then ordinarily, the first week sales would be strong enough to top the charts for that time of year, but it will be blocked by what I think will be a monster hit for Taio and will have to settle for a #2 peak. After the inital first week surge, I can see sales dropping off meaning it will have a pretty bad chart run. I don't think the song is strong enough to be a single, let alone a lead single, and won't be a song that will stick around.
  20. The amazing actress Mary McDonnell (President Roslin in Battlestar Galactica) has just been cast. Hell yes! http://1.bp.blogspot.com/_t6XXVrt631U/SReyc9IwwVI/AAAAAAAAFec/LmmndHUmmqI/s400/mary-mcdonnell_l.jpg Source: http://www.variety.com/article/VR111802132...yid=13&cs=1

I agree with this tbh. It's looking like 3D prices are going to rise pretty soon, it's becoming ridiculous <_<

Started anoter topic before noticing this one. There is a hidden clue in the teaser, there is backwards writing on the mirror at the back of the room, but that's not all that's happening in the mirror: unlike in the real room, the baby is standing up in the crib and is looking at the rocking chair, which is going back and forth. Spooky. Here is a pic of the room from the teaser, that has been turned upside down so you can see the writing, which reads "What is happening to Hunter." Hunter is most likely the baby. http://img41.imageshack.us/img41/4994/pa2j.jpg Empire article: http://www.empireonline.com/news/story.asp?NID=28245 Official movie site: http://www.paranormalmovie.com/

Sorry RyanJL and mods, I thought there was only one for the first film, should have checked.
