M83 'Hurry Up, We're Dreaming' ıı October 17th
This album is revelationary to me; Midnight City took a few plays to stick and I have never heard of them before that, but the album as a whole blew me away on first listen, I enjoyed every track, and was overwhelmed by the music a good few times. The highlights for me atm are the Intro; Where the Boats Go (stunning short piece of music); Wait; Raconte-Moi Une Histoire; Soon, My Friend and my overall favourite Echoes of Mine. Glorious - I don't think I will be listening to much of anything else for a while.

The Woman In Black
Watched the play last October with my English class, I wasn't expecting to be scared at all. No film has terrified me more and we were front row - being chocked by the smoke machine was a particular hightlight  No way will the film be as effective, but I am interested in seeing what they do with it, my mum is a massive fan of the book (and ghost stories in general) so I will probably end up seeing it in the cinema.

Austin Powers 4
Mike Myers is clearly running out of work then.

[Rec] 3: Genesis
Hah! :D Surely he must have clocked on though eventually? My brother managed to convince me The Blair Witch Project was real when I was younger and showed me the fake website to convince me, then said there were other cases like that near to where we live: terrified doesn't cover it. The curse of older siblings <_<

[Rec] 3: Genesis
The first two films are among my favourite horror films of all time, and easily my favourite in the zombie sub-genre. Still need to see the Romero films; I've only seen Land of the Dead, and while I can't remember much about it, I remember liking it at the time. The Dawn of the Dead remake is fantastic though, blew me my 12-year old mind away; even though I've only seen it once, it has still stuck with me all these years. Here's hoping [REC.] 3 doesn't disappoint, it certainily sounds interesting. So it will work as both a prequel and sequel? And for the first time there will a different prespective other than first person, that should keep things fresh especially now we've got a new location and it's set during the day. I wonder how they're going to wrap the series up though; maybe with a mass exorcism

Which was the last DVD you watched?
Oh, I really like that film, very atmospheric and foreboding, and the editing/pacing was mighty good; pretty good twist too.

Florence + The Machine // 'Ceremonials' October 31
Like the picture, hate the font. Also, a studio version of Strangeness and Charm will be on the second album.

Florence + The Machine // 'Ceremonials' October 31
My heart burst listening to it; the melody in the chorus is so utterly gorgeous. Just as good as the live version suggested.

This is how I see it; GaGa is making her way back to her Nebraska guy (Lüc Carl) and has to leave her childhood behind her in the process, and ends up stopping at a crossroads, unsure of whether to go on. We also see 19 year old Stefani (GaGa with the black hair) becoming the artist and person GaGa feels she is today (the mermaid representing herself as something special/magical) through the help of Frankenstein Luc (played here by a total hunk); GaGa has stated the obvious recently, that he has been her muse for her whole career, Born This Way is dedicated to him, and it just represents that omnipresent influence on her progression visually. The GaGa and Jo scenes demonstrates her ability to love herself, and as I see it, embracing her italian ancestry aswell (something else that she feels is a huge part of her). The video ends with GaGa choosing to/feeling ready to go ahead with the relationship as she starts running down the road; her getting married to the hunk showing her ultimate fantasy (being together with Luc). Personally, my favourite video of the era, and I loved Born This Way and Judas.

MTV Video Music Awards 2011
"...don't miss "MTV First: Lady Gaga," an exclusive live Q&A on Thursday, Aug. 18 at 7:49 p.m. ET. to watch Gaga discuss her "Yoü And I" video, her upcoming VMA performance, and make a special VMA announcement." So her performing isn't the special announcement; other than hosting, I don't know what else it could be.

THE HARRY POTTER RATE
I think it's safe to say Bellatrix is going to walk this!
-
THE HARRY POTTER RATE
Aragog: 08 Sirius Black: 09 Lavender Brown: 08 - v v funny, her fling with Ron was handled perfectly. Cho Chang: -01 - Bland, bland, boring - her character is annoying enough but at least she has a bit of fire in the belly in the books. Colin Creevey: 08 Vincent Crabbe: 00 Barty Crouch: 03 Barty Crouch Jr: 09 Fleur Delacour: 07 Cedric Diggory: 05 Dobby: 10 Aberforth Dumbledore: 01 Albus Dumbledore: 07 - Compared to the books, Michael Gambon just didn't get him right for me (where was the warm, flamboyantly fabulous aloof side to him) and he was overlooked in DH. Dudley Dursley: 06 Petunia Dursley: 10 Vernon Dursley: 10 Argus Filch: 07 - Reduced to comic relief; the running in GOF for example, I felt was a bit too slapstick and I think his scene in DH2 didn't fit the tone well. Looked and sounded the part though. Seamus Finnigan: 03 Mundungus Fletcher: 03 Firius Flitwick: 04 - First two movies got him SPOT ON, having the choir teacher in POA suddenly be the new Flitwick from there onwards was an awful decision. Cornelius Fudge: 09 Hermione Granger: 10 - The only issue I have is the subtext Steve Kloves gave film Hermione that she has deeper feelings for Harry. Although, I love him for giving us the Harry/Hermione dance scene, the most tender, touching and reflective scene of all the films. Grawp: 08 - He was sorely missed in DH. Griphook: 09 Gregory Goyle: 00 Rubeus Hagrid: 10 - Coltrane IS Hagrid. Kreacher: 06 - It would have been EPIC if he had led the Hogwarts' House Elves into battle; I guess that's the consequence of cutting a lot of subplot out of the later books - when it comes to the payoff in the finale, they got stuck trying to hit the same great beats that the the book did. Viktor Krum: 07 - HAWT. Bellatrix Lestrange: 11 - She lived that character, the best screen adaption by far. Gilderoy Lockhart: 10 Neville Longbottom: 07 - His arc wasn't handle as well in the movies, they still couldn't help but make him the bumbling idiot in DH and his speech was a bit WET. Luna Lovegood: 10 - Fanstastic. Remus Lupin: 07 - Underused. Draco Malfoy: 10 - When the hell did Tom Felton become so good looking? That's what popped into my head whenever he was on screen during DH. Lucius Malfoy: 10 - Jasson Issacs was fantastic. Narcissa Malfoy: 02 - Her two lines were quite well delievered in DH. Minerva McGonagall: 10 Alastor ‘Mad Eye’ Moody: 09 Moaning Myrtle: 08 Nearly Headless Nick: 08 Mr Ollivander: 08 - This string of 8s makes me realise just how well adapted/cast the characters were in the first two films. Peter Pettigrew: 09 Poppy Pomfrey: 08 James Potter: 01 - He didn't have much of a role in the movies, and I still don't get why the actor hired for James and Lily were the same age as Lupin etc, even though they died young. Nitpick. Lily Potter: 06 - Handled well in DH. Harry Potter: 10 Quirinus Quirrell: 09 - Giggles @ the name. Rufus Scrimgeour: 09 Kingsley Shacklebolt: 04 Horace Slughorn: 06 Rita Skeeter: 10 Severus Snape: 10 Dean Thomas: 06 Sybill Trelawney: 10 Nymphadora Tonks: 00 - They shredded her character. I don't blame anyone who hasn't read the books to be saying WHO?! right now. Dolores Umbridge: 10 Lord Voldemort: 09 - I think he was a bit too CAMP - hearing Fiennes say he wore stockings underneath his robe during shooting and flashed his thigh occassionaly doesn't help matters. Arthur Weasley: 08 Fred Weasley: 09 - The twins weren't quite how I imagined them, which is why I knocked off a point, and I am bitterly disappointed with his death not being handled properly. George Weasley: 09 - ^ Ginny Weasley: 05 - So much more fierce and well developed in the books; the 'chemistry' between her and Harry was dead in the movies, and her role was reduced to little more than damsel-in-distress, lover in waiting - and I was peeved with her lack of concern when it seemed like Neville plunged to his death in the last film. Molly Weasley: 09 - Would have been 10 if it weren't for her poor delivery of her most infamous line. Percy Weasley: 03 - Was played great when he was in it, a shame his storyline in the later books was cut. Ron Weasley: 10 - Like Neville and Filch I think his character was played for laughs quite a lot of the time - plus, a lot of his great lines in the earlier books that actually showed he has a brain in his head was given instead to superhero Hermonie by Steve Kloves (her No.1 fan). Overall though, Ron was well adapted. As an aside though, when did Rupert Grint become so sexy! SWOON. I wouldn't be against marriage. Oliver Wood: 07 - Embodied the character well.

BJSC XXXVI - Semi-Finals: The Results
Thanks Ghosthunter, C.R., Dandy* and especially RFC for the points; If You Forget Me is my favourite entry to the contest, so I’m glad that you all enjoyed it. Boats & Birds and Promises both got through, so I’m happy about that :D 01 point - Greenfroze: Mimi Blix – Forever The only song I voted for that didn't get make it.

I would quite happily give points to my Top 16 if I could. Definite bloodbath.

BJSCXXXVI - Semi-Finals: The Voting
Semi Final 1 12 points: The background music reminds me of Snow Patrol's You Could Be Happy, which is a good thing in my book. A song that stuck out from the beginning; the emotive vocals (when they explode in the last minute I get genuine goosebumps), the heartfelt and earnest chorus and the lyrics themselves are wonderful; one in particular is one of my favourites I've heard for a while. A few tears were shed. 10 points: No one can seem to decide on this in the odds, and I fear it will get overlooked, but the song is beautiful. I think that's the best word to describe it; lyrically the best of the lot and the acoustic melody was refreshing and wonderfully dreamy. It was close to getting 12 points at one point, and I would hate for it to DNQ. The person who entered this is now responsible for two of my favourite discoveries. 08 points: Probably the most talked about of the contest so far, while I loved it on first listen, my enthusiasm has cooled a bit when re-listening. Flows very well, and the chorus is grand; a downbeat, haunting song. 07 points: Distinct, throaty female vocals and great beat and chorus. I've got a lot of love for this track. 06 points: I am unsure whether I think this is merely good or top points material. The production is great, but I find the chorus slightly grating, then the last odd minute happens and I'm thinking why the hell I am not giving it my 12!? Ultimately though, I don't like it as much as the ones that came higher. 05 points: My favourite foreign language song of the semi, fantastic song and the middle 8 is *.* for some reason, I get a Natasha Bedingfield vibe from the last bit in the midde 8 as well. 04 points: Retro, cheeky, fun. It's grown so much on repeat listens that it's gone from being a non-contender for points to me thinking given more time it could be my favourite song in the whole damn thing. I'm sure this will be in the final though, so it could be getting more points from me there. 03 points: Great dance/pop song, another song that grows with each listen. Rather anthemic actually - when I blast this I get swept away. If this gets through, it could also be getting more points from me in the final. 02 points: I'm unsure of what to say for this song, it's downbeat dance with a great middle 8. I grew bored on repeat listens, so it's fallen a couple of places to the growers. 01 point: Another grower that I dismissed as cack at first; I was uncertain whether this, or one other song, should get the last point; but while I think the other one might need it more, I find this to be too much of an unresistable pop/dance song to ignore, and that breakdown/middle 8 makes me confident I'm making the right decision. Quite Pixie Lott-ish vocals I think.

Harry Potter & The Deathly Hallows: Part 1 & 2
I think your underestimating it slightly; both series moved from autumn releases to a summer slot with their third movies - while POA stumbled and declined and became the least grossing Potter film to date, Eclipse coped fine with the move and became the highest grossing of the series in the US to date. Now with Breaking Dawn being marketed as the last one, and seeing how much of a bump that gave the Deathly Hallows movies during their opening weekends (DH 1 took $125m) I think there's a reasonable chance that it could break it. The last Twilight films and The Dark Knight Rises are the only films I can see having a shot before Avatar 2.

Desperate Houswives (Season 7)
To be honest I can't really remember much post-Season Two, I wouldn't say it's a show that really requires you to, although Season Seven does bring up two unresolved storylines that fans had been moaning about for ages, and that no really cared about anymore by the time they got round to it. But the 'previously' bit would fill you in anyway. I would just continue from where you left off if you can remember, or just start afresh from Season Six.

Desperate Houswives (Season 7)
Oh Jark, I would give Season 8 a chance, the finale suggests great things, it really was classic DH. Tbh I don't know why I've stuck with it for so long, but there are still good moments hidden in it's tired routine. I really hope this one is the last though, and that is goes out on some sort of high.

'Yoü and I' • 4th Single Thread
Her album sales are fading in the US, as is the public's goodwill towards her theatrics, she needs to push a single that would appeal to the casual buyer aswell as her fanbase. You may think it goes against her artistic sensibilities, but she has talked numerous times about how she loves stadium rock and how artists such as Queen inspire her, and this just shows it more than any of her other tracks. My opinion remains the same, it may not be her at her batshit crazy best, but then radio aren't playing her anymore at her batshit crazy best. If she gets a hit out of this, it would help in the longterm and make sure that her star (in the US) doesn't fade. Also, I think it's hardly her worst track, that honour goes to Money Honey.

'Yoü and I' • 4th Single Thread
You can watch the radio interview here too; and you can see what goes on when she arrives and they meet, and what they talk about between the breaks which I always find fascinating to watch. I love how she directs the interview, that that she lets a fan come in and get an autograph and how she gets into her own songs; she seems so carefree and laidback throughout, plus she looks adorable  http://www.ustream.tv/channel/lady-gaga-kat-103 I've said it before, but I really do think You and I is the most logical single choice; she needs to regain public faith and favour before she puts out something like Scheiße and this has the potential to be a big crossover hit, especially if she performs it at the VMAs; we shall see. I love the concept of the video too, and that they're shooting it on location; I think it could be, along with EOG, GaGa's most personal yet. "It's really cinematic and beautiful; I have never seen light on film the way the way it looked here in Nebraska - I mean it just looked like God's light was shining right through that barn." Can't wait.

BJSCXXXVI - Semi-Finals: The Voting
I am struggling to order my Top 10, and other songs have grown on me too. The only thing that remains certain is my top pointer, I'm utterly in love with it.
