  1. I agree with all of this. The video is geared towards a very niche audience, but I'd much rather have something that is challenging and controversial, than a generic video of her dancing around with her past lovers on a beach. Some people don't like it as the video is not 'summery' and I find that sort of criticism shallow. She has moved past the days of generic videos like Just Dance and Poker Face, and it would be a step back if she ever went back to those kind of videos. As corny as it sounds, she's portraying her artistic vision, and even though as a result the video becomes esoteric (Google is my friend), I think she should be praised for it. I find it refreshing that we have a video that we can actually discuss in terms of symbolism, story and message. EDIT: 'Using blasphemy as entertainment is as cheap as a comedian telling a fart joke.' Looks like Katy Perry didn't think much of it either.
  2. I thought so, but I haven't read the book since it came out, so I wasn't sure if they heard it over the secret radio channel or something. And I agree with you, I really hope the writers take the chance to explore the inner workings of the Death Eaters, which J.K didn't really get the chance to do as she was resticted to Harry's point of view. Rowling compares them to the Nazis, so it will be interesting to see if they take that metaphor further by showing us the hierarchy and how they manipulate the media. Sorry, your right, I paused it and it's just a Death Eater. I just assumed from the billowy cloak that it was V.
  3. Well Big Brother remains my favourite reality show, closely followed by The Apprentice.
  4. I think this was confirmed a while back, but Yates said the final, final decision won't be made until he finishes editing, so it still may change. It is the most logical place to end though. And the trailer was fantastic, and is that Lord Voldemort standing in front of the Hogwarts Express? I take it he is going to search the train. Was that referenced in the book, or is this a whole new scene? I'm really looking forward to the film for the fact that we get a different perspective than from the book, so we can see the events actuallly happen, instead of the trio just hearing about them while in hiding.
  5. The way that video clip remixes the song is immense, makes it so anthemic. I wish someone would do a full remix like that.

He left after the whole 'Run Joey Run' incident, although I did a double take too. The only reason he came back to McKinley High at all after spring break was to get Rachel to find out about Shelby.
  7. This exactly. I really do hope it flops on it's arse.

Any Way You Want It / Lovin' Touchin' Squeezin' is possibly my favourite Glee song ever. I was looking forward to it, but I had no idea it would be this good
  10. I thought New Moon was a solid teenage flick, just like the first one, and I think they are great for what they are. I agree though that Kristin Stewart is the highlight. My favourite scene from either movie was when Bella was in her state of depression after Edward leaves. Possibilty was a fantastic choice of song for that scene, but the soundtrack in general was amazing.

I vowed not to watch another trailer, but I gave into temptation; and I'm so glad I did. The final ultimate fan trailer, gave me actual chills. It was so well put together, it works in its own right, I could watch it over and over again. One of the best previews for a TV show I've seen (well it is HBO, the trailer for Six Feet Under's final season was art in itself) And :o at Anna Paquin's body, oh my Lordy. I'm also bouncing off the walls at the prospect of more Pam, the bitch is fierce. I cannot wait for this, thank God I am off school at the time the premiere airs, I will be up early enough to watch it as soon as it comes online. And Medicated Soap, is your friend's podcast just for True Blood, if it is, could you hook me up with a link please.
  12. When they say sign up, they do mean sign up to the Live Feed don't they? Not the Channel 4 website? They most likely will ask you to put in your credit card details, they want as many people to sign up as possible, which means more money, as I can imagine a lot more than 1,000 people will be trying their luck. Also, can someone send me a link to the pictures please?

He's talked about the sequel for a while now, so this is no big shock. I enjoyed Avatar (I've seen it in both 2D and 3D), but not as much as the intense this-is-a-game-changing movie crowd. I still don't buy 3D, and I don't believe any film needs it. I much prefer strong writing, directing and acting. It also frustrates me when critics critise blockbuster films for not using it (see Empire's review of Prince of Persia).

Oh, yes please if that's alright :D it would make my day actually, was so gutted when it didn't have subtitles. I watched 'I Love You, Phillip Morris' instead though, and that is now one of my favourite films, so it's not all bad :P It's a shame it didn't live up to your expectations.

    * sorry double post.

That's what I tried, all the rips I found are from the DVD that has already been released Spain, so the quality is incredible. But as a consequence there are no subtitles, so I'm just going to have to wait unfortunately.
  17. You're right, I forgot to mention this point, but it's probably one of the biggest reasons why they shouldn't win. Also it seems that Mercedes, Quinn, Puck - pretty much everyone but Rachel - are being really complacent about the whole thing. I think the shock of them losing is needed to get them to push themselves, I just wonder whether the writers will let them win despite all this, to make people think, did they really deserve it? I've read that, an extra revealed in the ending version where they win so unless this is made-up, or they re-filmed it, it suggests they are going to lose.
  18. Sorry Tyron, I was mistaken, Figgins said they have to place at Nationals, which means they will have to win Regionals. My mistake. I think either of these can happen; 1) They lose (I like the theory that VA and ND both lose to a random third team), the club is disbanded, but they manage to find a way to start Glee over again, giving them a second chance. Proper auditions are held again for everyone, which fits in with the rumour that Now with experience, and fresh determination, they will come back bigger and stronger, and will win Regionals. In Season Three they attend Nationals in New York, and Rachel must decide between a career in broadway, or to stay in Glee to compete in Nationals. The stakes would be raised with the best teams from around the country taking part. Ryan Murphy says they have material for three years, so this seems the logical process. 2) They win, and go to Nationals, and the stuff that would have happened in Season Three, happens next year. Also despite VA losing, they will be invited to Nationals as defending champions, which means Groff and Menzel can stick around next year, and also fits in with the fact they are . Next year they will lose, and start the process all over again, like Friday Night Lights. I also like the theory that VA win, but in fact, ND won but Sue refused to read out their name (or switches/meddles with it somehow). Someone comes across the actual card with the winning name on it (Jesse?) but doesn't tell anyone. ND logically should lose. They A) have lack of experience. They have never been to Regionals before. B ) Haven't got the technical skill that VA has, they have Artie in a wheelchair, and Quinn, who is about to pop. C) They only scapped through Sectionals by the skin of their teeth, because of the stupidity and bigotry of the judges. However, to fit in with the cynicism of the show, they should lose for a stupid reason, such as Sue's manipulation or something else equally unfair and ridiculous.

Not only is there a second, but their making a third as well. I loved the original, and I even managed to get my science teacher to play it during the last lesson of the year, after everyone started talking about how much they wanted to see Quarantine :P I'm so glad the sequel has been getting such positive reviews. I was reading the Empire review, and they said that there is a twist that expands the world, but as a consequence 'loses some of its realness' and will divide viewers. Without giving too much away (unfortunately I will have to wait for the DVD to see it) what did you think of 'the twist'? And is it as controversial as the review made it out to be? ? Lastly, have you seen the French horror Martyrs yet? If you haven't, I think you would really like it.

A run of three great episodes in a row; loved 'Funk' the storyline was great, and I loved how close the group were (and backs up that ensemble shows work best when all the characters are working together, not against each other) Plus, the final performance gave me chills, and sums up the message of the Glee club, and the show in general. And I really enjoyed the cover Good Vibrations, although after such a long wait Quinn's solo was a bit of a let down, I prefer her previous three. Plus we got a lot of comedy, and Sue was all kinds of epic, the schemeing she and Will did was a lot of fun to watch, and I LOL at the Mexican maid, typical Sue :P Also confused Brittany chasing Jacob was a highlight - "Love me!" Can't wait for next week, 'Funk' did a great job of upping the stakes. The only thing that seemed kinda pointless was Terri's return, I wonder if she will be forgotten about/written off, or if the plot between her and Finn will be devloped next season.
  21. 'Love Generation' is amazing, and a song I could imagine myself buying and listening to. 'One' however is bland, it may be a grower, but I struggled to get through it. So my vote goes to 'Love Generation'
  22. Flyleaf being my favourite artist at the moment, naturally won out in my Internal Selection to represent New Caprica. But after narrowing down the songs from their two albums, I've hit a snag as all five songs are equally as amazing to me. So I thought you lot who aren't blinded by loon-dem (I only know one other Flyleaf fan on here) could help me make a decision. 1) All Around Me is the most commercial sounding, shown as it their most watched video on youtube. 2) So I Thought is the only 'ballad' out of the four and the most soft. 3) Missing is quirky but has the most 'traditional' chorus 4) Again is a pure rock song, but remains catchy. 5) Cassie is the least commercial, and will most likely, be a love/hate song given that is not 'soft' in the slightest. All Around Me xN0FFK8JSYE So I Thought HZuskwmcQGg Missing -X5lbZi6UUo Again KbdCeWoEH1U Cassie S5X0cWsC8rY

I think a Six Feet Under style sequence, that shows their deaths in order of who dies first, while showing glimpses of how they lived their lives in between, would be nice. Like a 6-minute bonus clip on the DVD or something.

That's what it reminded me of as well. Escpecially, because Susan wasn't allowed to come to heaven yet as she 'wasn't ready' even though it was C.S. Lewis basically saying 'No sluts allowed' :P It reminded me very much of what happened with Susannah, Jake, Eddie and Oy in The Dark Tower series and the characters in Narnia. It doesn't remind me of Spielberg in the slightest. I urge all Lost fans to read these DT books, if you wish to fill the Lost sized hole in side of you. Well, I've just finished watching the finale, and I thought it ended fantastically. The overarching themes of Lost (Life, death, rebirth, redemption) were explored and the characters had a fantastic send-off. The last image of the show, was predicted by many, but was still excuted extremely well. The idea of the alt timeline being a place where they will all meet after they die, and they 'move on' to heaven together, puts the whole show into context for me, and I liked how the real timeline ended with Hurley and Ben becoming the new Jacob and Richard; Frank, Richard, Miles, Sawyer, Kate and Claire leaving the Island for good and of course Jack dying in reverse of how he woke up at the beginning of the show. I agree that's its a very poetic and satisfying end, and manages to put everying into context, which makes some of the rot in the last couple of seasons better in effect. However, Season Six as a whole doesn't better some of the earilier seasons, although 'The End' is my favourite Lost episode. Season One Season Three Season Six Season Two Season Four Season Five In terms of finales it still doesn't top 'Everyone's Waiting' for me.
