bjsc_twenty six :: THE GRAND FINALE
Thankyou Freeze for the 4 points, you don't know how shocked I was when I saw I was given points, I had to do a double take :kink: Anyways, I always say if you are going to do something, then you have to do it right, so if I'm going to flop I would rather be infamous for coming last than to come somewhere near the bottom :P

True Blood | Season 5
That trailer is INCREDIBLE. It's shaping up to be the most action-packed and twisty, turny season yet. Although, I am going to try my hardest not to watch anything else as I want to be surprised by how the story develops. While the trailer is immense, it gives quite a bit away.

Come on Girls' Generation, the whole of New Caprica is behind you :cheer: just don't come last

bjsc_twenty six :: Final Voting
I think Push Push could be a wildcard in the competition, especially as the people who love it, really seem to love it. So I think if all those people have given it 18points, and if they are an example of the voting trends, then it could have a shot at Top 5. That's completely wild speculation on my part, and the same logic could be applied to other songs, so take it all with a pinch of salt. I wouldn't be surprised if it missed out on the Top 10 completely.

Unfortunately I don't see my attempt as breaking the mould of K-Pop flops is going to work. I will see it as a blessing not to finish last, my goal is not to be in the bottom 10, but I think even that is unachieveable after looking at people's odds and from the little pieces of convo I've seen about it, it doesn't seem as if Girls' Generation stuck in people's head. I think the biggest impact it would have had is if you watched the video with the subtitles, even I admit the MP3 version isn't strong enough by itself, without people understanding what they are going on about :P Plus, the video version hasn't got all the annoying chattering before and after, and there is a slight difference to some of the production. Oh, well, I will have fun cheering on my favourite :kink:

Fair enough :kink: and I've got to say, it's still a good song. And tell me about it, the bit that gets stuck in my head is when the chorus kicks in again at 1:51

That hook is good, but I agree with Addy! that U-Turn's initial sex factor wears off after multiple listens. I can think of much better hooks in the contest: I Like That for one :kink: and at least sixteen more.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
You should, I love New Moon and Eclipse. I have yet to read Breaking Dawn, should hopefully start on it after I've finished Wild Swans. But I might have to put off, because I might start to read more classic literature, in preparation for my interview for uni latter this year (want to do Eng lit) Oh, and my friend is far better looking than Pattison, and from the description given in the books, I always imagine him :kink: Ever since I've seen the films though, when I read them I now see Edward as my friend mutated with Rob
-
The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Yes he is actually, his chest and Edward in general, is constantly described as buff by Bella, who frequently describes him as if he has been chiseled from stone (can't remember the exact quote). For some reason, after seeing my friends amazing abs when we went swimming, I always picture Edward as looking like my friend mixed with Pattison. Wierd.

I am another person who uses the /10 system. Most of the time I spent ordering my favourites, my Top 5/10 pretty much never changed since first listen, just their order. Although there are exceptions, in the last day or so, some songs I wrote off I began to like. Actually, it was a real underdog that got my 18 points, it wasn't even in My Top 15 until last night :kink: Some songs really do need a few listens before their brilliance is unveiled.

Listened to all the songs properly twice now, and have some firm favourites, but I am undecided about the order and what to cut :drama: The file is finally downloading for me now, so will put all the songs on to my iPod and listen to them overnight and tomorrow before I make my final decision. I am shocked however at the odds, some of my favourites are doing abysmally :o

Inception (From the Director of The Dark Knight)
Exactly, and considering Nolan's previous record, and the fact that this is a movie he has wanted to make for years, I'm confident it will be this summer's best blockbuster, and probably one of the 2010's best films overall. Another thing I'm glad Nolan has avoided is using the 3-D gimmick, that every single film seems to be doing at the moment post-Avatar. By the way, I've replaced the youtube link for trailer 3 with one that works.

The Twilight Saga: Eclipse
Florence + the Machine and Sia  Judging by the name, hopefully Sia's song will be another Breathe Me and be this soundtrack's 'Possibilty.'

Caprica
Yes, as this is a whole new story and centers around new characters (however the boy in it, is a younger version of the main character in Battlestar Galactica) and is set before BSG. The only thing is, you might miss some in-jokes and it might take you a bit longer to understand the world of Caprica than had you watched Battlestar, but don't let that put you off, as the same can be said for most new shows. This pretty much sums it up; "Caprica differs significantly from its parent series, due to creative and commercial demands. Ronald D. Moore had strong feelings on the matter, explaining his starting point was, "...you don't try to repeat the formula," and going on to say, "...everything about Caprica was designed specifically to not repeat what we had done in Galactica." Although a critical success, Galactica had a predominantly male audience, and both Moore and the network felt the "war in space" backdrop was a major deterrent to female viewers. With these considerations and Caprica's storyline already focused on events taking place before the two Cylon Wars, the series has a different identity, with its own tone, content, and style. While Caprica contains some Easter eggs for Battlestar fans, the series is intended to be accessible to new fans, and, as such, no prior knowledge is necessary."

Caprica
By the way, for anyone reading this and is interested in what the show is about, here a synopsis, followed by three promos and four posters; "An astonishing breakthrough is taking shape on the planet Caprica. The rapidly evolving spheres of human and mechanical engineering have collided, along with the fates of two families. Joined by tragedy in an explosive instant of terror, two rival clans led by powerful patriarchs, Joseph Adama (Esai Morales) and Daniel Greystone (Eric Stoltz) duel in an era of questionable ethics, corporate machinations and unbridled personal ambition as the final war for humanity looms. The latest phenomenon from the executive producers of Battlestar Galactica (Ronald D. Moore and David Eick), set in a time over 50 years earlier, Caprica is entirely its own world - provocative, thrilling and startling relevant to our own." Caprica
To be fair, they are two different types of show, and it's clear they are trying to give this a different look/feel. Either way it was never going to better or match BSG, but it is better than nothing, and just from the pilot, it blows other sci-fi shows that have come out this year, like the awful Flashforward, right out of the water. But from what I've heard the show has a shaky start but gets significantly better as it goes along. Critics also seem to love this show. And considering I thought the pilot was terrific, I can only imagine how good it does eventually get.

Caprica
I was going to make this after I watched the pilot, but forgot, thanks for making it M!key :D I really hope it does get renewed, SyFy seems committed to Caprica according to this article http://www.capricatimes.com/renewal-rumor-...er-bsg-spin-off BSG has been a profitable series for them, and despite low ratings they seem eager for it to continue on top of creating further spin offs. Although admittedly, it's getting more and more bleak as time goes on. That being said, the universe they have created is extremely rich, and even if Caprica is cancelled, I can see them trying again. I've only seen the pilot and thought it was excellent. It was extremely well directed, acted and scored and it made you think. I loved when at the end, Young Will and his father hugged, and the "Adama family" music motif came back. I thought that was a nice touch. Looking solid and can't wait until I get time to catch up. I doubt it will better BSG though, which is my second favourite televison series of all time, but it helps to fill the void and add further layers to an already incredible universe.
