According to billboard Taylor will sell over 1 mln copies this week. It will be her second album with more than one million sale in first week, only 3 acts achieved it before her ( N'Sync, BB, Eminem).

US iTunes Top 100 [JUL-DEC 2012]
Billboard. com still thinks that 1D will be around 300k, in my opinion they should sell more.

US iTunes Top 100 [JUL-DEC 2012]
It would be great if each of this 4 (Taylor, Adele, Psy and 1D) sell more than 300k.

US iTunes Top 100 [JUL-DEC 2012]
Presently, industry sources suggest that "Gangnam Style" might sell between 270,000 to 290,000 downloads by the end of the tracking week on Sunday. Maroon 5, however, may shift 155,000 to 175,000. Not in the running for No. 1, but targeting a top 10 debut, are One Direction's "Live While We're Young" and Taylor Swift's "Red." The former hit digital retailers on Monday, Oct. 1 while Swift's track went on sale the following day. One Direction might sell around 300,000 downloads, while Swift should move more than 300,000. The airplay for "Live While We're Young" is still building, so it's not a contender for the No. 1 slot on the Hot 100. The same goes for Swift's "Red," which is another pre-release single from the same-titled album, due out Oct. 22. billboard. com If Taylor sold 600k copies of We are.... and Red has even better 1st day of sale, I think Taylor and 1D may sell much more than 300k.

iTunes Weekly Thread: W/C 30th September 2012
Last year thanks to preorders 1D sold 82 k copies in two days, and now they had even more preorders. So if they will have around 90-100k copies after 2 days it's imposiible that PSY or Rihanna will have no.1 at the end of the week. Let's be honest that PSY song is some kind of joke, and Diamonds are far far away form Rihanna's best single, they doesn't have any chance with power of teen and preteen girls.

Mumford & sons according to Billboard will sell 600k in their first week of sale.

The Wanted & One Direction - American success
I highly doubt that 1D will sell 500k copies of their album, I think it would be 300-400k, and you have right that Taylor wouldn't sell more than N'Sync I just wanted to say that she will have biggest opening week in digital era.

The Wanted & One Direction - American success
Judging on iphone in America poor quality does not affect the sale

The Wanted & One Direction - American success
First prediction for Justin also was around 500k, so I think that 1D might be overestimated. And Taylor for sure will have best selling 1st week in history.

The Wanted & One Direction - American success
Nothing had been left to chance by Sony Music, with the band's hit album Up All Night selling over five million copies. 'The songs, publishing, discs, DVDs, merchandising and endorsements brought in huge profits, with the five members of the group together estimated to have earned nearly £100 million ($162 million). :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o :o Naturally, Sony and Syco raked in much more.'
