I really like La Roux's music, but thus far Ellie has been tactless when it comes to speaking about other artists. She may have strong opinions, but sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

I'm really excited that we will be getting new material again this year. She is really working hard to please her fans, and I know that some poeple think it is too much but as long as the material is fresh I think it will be successful. In future I think more and more people will follow with albums like the fame monster, the reduced number of tracks makes it easier to release more often.

I'm glad she will be suporting it :wub:

If she perfroms this on Oprah this Friday then she may have a shot to top the Hot 100 :)

I figured that, I didn't expect album sales to be as high as they were during the xmas period. Album sales didn't fall that much last year (4% decline?), but is that because there was an extra chart week (53 in total) last year? Normally there's 52 weeks.

I like 'wait your turn', but most people I know don't. It has no chance of being a single because it had so little impact on the charts. I think Hard is amazing, it could easily go top 5. Obviously it is more suited to the US market, but the same could have been said for 'Single Ladies'. That wasn't even given a release here, it was a b-side to 'if I were a boy' but it became a massive hit in the end due to radio support and of course, the video.

This era has been totally messed up by her label. All these rush releases are the reason the material is underperforming, especially in the US. Apparantly she is going to be re-releasing rated r or a new album this summer

It looks like Owl City may not be number 1 afterall, atleast not this week.

I would have thought that singles would have sold more throught the chart positions, but single sales seem to drop off faster then album sales, hence from 15 onwards album sales are higher. I'd imagine that next year singles will sell more throughout the chart.

I would love to see 'I see you' become a massive hit, it is far better then the material on 'echo'. Is it getting an official UK release does anyone know? It's likely to get an oscar nomination.

^It peaked at number 6 three months after release though, and that was because of the ads (can't remember what they were) it was used for!

Maybe top 10, but sweet about me was amazing and that didn't manage to sell that well. It was the most played song of last year though :)

Ignorance... The biggest export will be the artist who manages to sell the most worldwide. The strength of the US market is exaggerated, on a per capita basis the UK market is stronger.

Hard is the current single in the US, but Rude Boy is supposed to be the next UK single. Rude Boy is also going for ads (at radio) in the US next month(they seem to be rushing this era). IMO Hard is the better single choice for here

I'm really glad that dog days are over is doing so well on itunes :) It hasb't even peaked in the top 40 yet so hopefully it can maybe get into the top 20 next week, although top ten would be better. Why the surge though?
