That could easily happen, but I think Marina is getting just as much hype as Ellie TBH. I think the sound of 2010 poll got it right with the top 2 they chose this year :)

I would agree that New in Town would likely have gone top ten in February, and that Remedy would have been the best choice for her debut single but the hype had not died down all that much by the time her material was released. Also, Florence released her debut alum and single (well Rabbit Heart was her breakthrough single) after Little Boots, and she didn't flop.

^ Is the charity single being released on the 7th then? Marina is releasing her single next week, I hope it can go top 5 atleast. I'm sort of worried about both Marina and Ellie...

Little Boots managed to flop with all the hype surrounding her last year! I want this to go to number one but I don't know if it is going to happen, I'm going to be optimistic anyway :)

I really like La Roux's music, but thus far Ellie has been tactless when it comes to speaking about other artists. She may have strong opinions, but sometimes it is better to say nothing at all.

I'm really excited that we will be getting new material again this year. She is really working hard to please her fans, and I know that some poeple think it is too much but as long as the material is fresh I think it will be successful. In future I think more and more people will follow with albums like the fame monster, the reduced number of tracks makes it easier to release more often.

If she perfroms this on Oprah this Friday then she may have a shot to top the Hot 100 :)

Although I don't like Iyaz's song, I hope that number one's this year have more longevity at the top then last year. 2007 and 2008 had many multiple week number ones, which makes the tend of one week number ones of last year all the more Bizarre. Bad Romace is at number 6? It is likely to pass out Just Dance sales wise

I figured that, I didn't expect album sales to be as high as they were during the xmas period. Album sales didn't fall that much last year (4% decline?), but is that because there was an extra chart week (53 in total) last year? Normally there's 52 weeks.

I like 'wait your turn', but most people I know don't. It has no chance of being a single because it had so little impact on the charts. I think Hard is amazing, it could easily go top 5. Obviously it is more suited to the US market, but the same could have been said for 'Single Ladies'. That wasn't even given a release here, it was a b-side to 'if I were a boy' but it became a massive hit in the end due to radio support and of course, the video.

This era has been totally messed up by her label. All these rush releases are the reason the material is underperforming, especially in the US. Apparantly she is going to be re-releasing rated r or a new album this summer

It looks like Owl City may not be number 1 afterall, atleast not this week.
