After the My Oh My release I checked this out, I really like it. Orville has a voice that is a nice contrast to Kylie, the chorus has a great melody, production is good. I've actually played it a few times since giving it a spin yesterday.

You cant help but laugh at how naff their social media posts are. That video is embarrassing.

Haven't ordered anything from the new merch, sad to say they have lost me. I totally know there is zero option to do anything as Geri is worse than Victoria now (Vic would do Glastonbury and let the documentary be released) and the other 3 are at ransom but I just cant find the effort to care anymore. Hopefully all their solo projects flop and this merch doesn't sell well as I would happily have them all bugger off for a few years and stop souring their legacy with shit group merch and awful solo projects.

Well this is annoying as hell. Too much effort to make it sound like what they think people want (CGYOOMH but more edgy) without actually focussing on making a good song.

I think you have that the wrong way round. Kylie has the rabid hardcore fans who buy everything multiple times. As for the Spice Girls they are the ultimate casual GP fan band. You don't sell 700k concert tickets unless you can tap into a mass of casual fans who just want to see them in real life and relive their childhood. All those drunk women at SW19 aren't hanging on to any news or merch or buying Spiceworld25, but they will be there the moment they step on stage.

It sounds a mess but at least she is actually trying something different.

Kylie has never to my knowledge played stadiums in the UK, the Spice Girls did a 13 date stadium tour with a member down. Kylie also never stops performing so it isn't a OMG Kylie she hasn't performed in 13 years like it would be with a Spice Girls featuring Victoria. You are right though I doubt their egos will let it happen.

Oh they could headline no problem and it would be a massive success. What non current acts that headline Glastonbury need is 5 or 6 instantly recognisable sing-a-long songs that a drunken British crowd of 20 to 50 something year olds would know. Jay is right that it normally takes a couple of decades of releasing music to build up those 5 or 6 songs but Wannabe, 2 become 1, WDYTYA, Spice up your life, Stop and Mama are those songs. Each would have the crowd in full voice in a massive sing-a-long. Throw in some great visuals and costumes and the lure of seeing Posh Spice up actually on stage and it would be one of the biggest headliners ever.

Glastonbury is filled with artists now who a Melanie C doing a Spice Girls song with them would fit nicely and give them both more exposure. The gays would love a Sugababes x Melanie C duet doing say Viva Forever.

Looking forward to you being banned again Viodoo.

Let's be honest she could do every year as a guest for an artist as long as she performs a Spice Girls track.

Perrie being #10 and #15 on airplay with two awful songs that have done rubbish on most other metrics is a slap in the face to so many artists that deserve more support than they get.

They didn't care how it sold or charted, more importantly the label didn't. Let's not forget the download was released a week before the GH, then the GH the next week, then the physical CD the week after. The physical CD also had no incentive to buy it when the GH cd with Headlines on it was already out. When you think also that Mel C liked Spice is back from the GH sessions that could have easily been a b-side. Simon and the girls only cared about the tour, the label only cared about the GH. I mean look at the US where they sacrificed a good (probably top 10 position) to exclusively shift 600k copies off to Victoria Secret. Might have made financial sense to get 600k copies sold up front but it means the album has a 90 something peak (I think it was 90 something) from finally getting released with the CD/DVD in shops that reported to soundscan in January, two months after being sold in VS.

It doesn't even have to be power ballads how great would she sound on something like Castles or Weekends by Freya Ridings. That is the sort of sound I thought she would go for and if she got it right she could have kept the gay hardcores onboard but also added a more adult contemporary audience.

I'm not sure why you all think this is down to Espresso, it would be more likely the label are panicing that they threw everything at Forget about us (it must have had some serious airplay deals and plugging) and its chart run was a damp squib. So they are throwing plans up in the air already. Perrie said she recorded it a year and a half ago because the label boss liked it and sent it to her. He must think it is good to suggest it and I'm sure it must be his choice to push it now. He must have woeful taste though which is the problem.

As always with girl groups it is just them thinking they are better alone or have something to offer that the band cant. Leigh-Anne hasn't the stage presence or material and she will be playing these shows to Little Mix fans. It is all just delusional. She obviously isn't the first or last ex girl band member to far overstate just how good or worthwhile they are as a solo artist. If she is going to play Little Mix songs to the remaining hardcore Little Mix fans just be in the frigging band.

Might as well have carried on as Little Mix if she is going to fill her set with Little Mix songs.

Hits radio are calling this a contender for number 1 on their chart. I'd love to know how much labels pay or influence that made up chart.

Have never watched the show and couldn't care less about Mel C's or any other celebs heritage.

Perrie was on Hits radio, she came across really well, personable and funny but my god the song is absolute garbage. It is offensively bad.

She just keeps winning, vinyls, EPs, Christmas album to come.

I'd say it was more as a group the label had big say in singles and what was released, as the group was more a job than full on passion thing. Now they are solo (and have had big success behind them) they have gone into their solo careers with more control over their material. Only problem is that seems to show they cant be trusted with quality control.
