  1. Top 10 thanks to massive physical sales.
  2. With the current chart rules you might as well release 4 singles before an album, even if they aren't chart smashes will end up on smaller playlists and people's own personal playlists. Also to then spread those singles out on the tracklist to try and force people to stream it all not just the first 4 songs on the album. Kylie could have done that but I think her main focus or the labels/management was Vegas. The album felt more like promotion for that than to try and increase her streaming sales.
  3. I'm stunned that any artist in 2023 wouldn't make it a priority to have their Youtube and streaming services absolutely perfect. Emma's is a mess as we know. The Spice Girls youtube has two awful errors on it and Melanie C has stuff missing from streaming and rubbish artwork. This is basically how 99% of people view and listen to your work now. Imagine in the 90s releasing an album with missing tracks or the print on the front of a CD single being low quality. Just would never happen.
  4. Seen as Madonna has never done Glasto I think she would only do it if she was a headliner not the legend slot I'd say. Not that I'm saying it would be the Spice Girls just I think Madonna would want one of the big headliners slots or nothing. The legend slot has the last few years been seen more as the fun slot for an artist you wouldn't think might be at Glastonbury. Not directed at Geri but is there much if any profit in a £3.99 book? Amazon have to take their cut, printing, shipping to Amazon. It cant be more than pence profit on a price like that? If I remember correctly Emma made the Times best sellers list doing about 5.5k copies for #5 if you are only making 50p per book you need to be shifting a lot to make it worth while. It is why vinyl and so many of the formats in music these days are so expensive as they aren't selling massive amounts anymore so stinging fans hard with big price tags.
  5. They just need to exclude playlisting streams from the album chart. It is such a simple solution, they can wait streams for albums however they like then to keep sales 'high'. Record labels would soon invest in albums and getting them properly streamed as a whole then.
  6. I liked the rubix cube so will see the price of the snowglobe.
  7. Obviously albums with multiple hits will get better streaming thus sales. Streaming has made this much more important but it was always the case that an album with 5 hits on it would sell more and for longer than an album with one hit. That is why artists kept releasing single after single long after albums were released back in the day. Now it just needs to be the other way round, if Kylie or her team truly wanted to do the best streaming wise surely 4 or 5 pre album singles would have been the best bet, minimum of three. As I said Kylie can get 50k physical sales no matter what so why they didn't wait and get multiple singles out is anyone's guess. Random album tracks wont often get playlisted for any artist but singles will even on smaller playlists.
  8. But in 2 years his album will have sold a fair bit more than Tension. That is the point Kylie's physicals are short term success and many albums behind her on the year to date chart will likely be ahead of her in 3 years time as they keep selling through streaming. Kylie can flog 50k physicals to her fans through multi fornats if it was just 12 tracks of her burping, the true test and measure of success for her has to be trying to up her streaming numbers and sales. Jay pointed put it was actually doing less streaming sales than Disco week two.
  9. The circular argument about the level of success for this album is for me a result of you can never truly have a properly successful album these days without good streaming numbers which it doesn't have. So whilst Tension has done well on physical sales first week (which we know is in a big part thanks to fans buying multiple copies), the album has in no way broken through to the general public and they aren't listening to it on mass. Padam padam maybe gave false hope this might happen but it just hasn't. So it is a success in terms of garnering as many physical sales from her fans as possible but in terms of success outside of that its streaming numbers show it has been largely ignored.
  10. At the end of the day she is just another celeb kids book author. I swear every b-list celeb and his dog has done the same thing in the last 5 years. One of the McFly guys was on BBC Breakfast promoting his kids book not long ago. Difference is they all know it is a sideline, McFly still work regularly. Geri always thinks she will eclipse the Spice Girls with a solo project and not need the band anymore then come back when it doesn't happen. She would be getting a lot more success on a sold out Spice Girls stadium tour.
  11. People need to understand this is a music forum not a fan forum and lots of people will want to give their opinion on artists/charts. You cant and the mods shouldn't delete or police people for being 'negative'. This goes for any and every other artist posted about on buzzjack, if you cant handle differing opinions that is on you not them.
  12. What would she gain from it - money without risking losing money. Would also keep her name out there and give fans something to buy. You ask what would she gain from it like every album isn't being re-released and issued on vinyl now. Danni Minogue's flop album Girl has just been re-released and it had 1 week in the top 100 on original release.
  13. Think there is more chance of Virgin doing another NS vinyl at some point than getting any of her other albums on vinyl. I think it must be a big initial outlay money wise to produce a batch of vinyls than Melanie might want to fork out with probably very little to gain from it. She also wont have the connections say Virgin or BMG where they put a heck of a lot of business to these vinyl plants so no doubt get a better deal. Her best bet would be to licence her own label albums out to a small label like Cherry Red or Plastic Pop and let them sort a vinyl or re-issue.
  14. I think SUYL would do well with a 7 inch vinyl that is constantly stocked and printed. 2 become 1 too with its Christmas connection and Mama with its yearly mothers day boost.
  15. Not only rude but wrong. Streaming sales are way higher now than in 2020. The #200 album has to do about 50% more sales (basically all streaming) than 3 years ago. Physical sales have nose dived in that time though.
  16. Wannabe is back in the top 20 on the vinyl singles sales chart at #19. Has charted the last three weeks 21-24-19. It has a very impressive chart run on the vinyl singles chart (though obviously very small sales each week) after the picture disc release 2 years ago. It must be in print still as it is always in stock on their official store, HMV and Amazon (where I assume most of its sales comw from).
  17. Yeah she is lying, she has clarified after Mel C sent her a copy of her book in which she wrote a note in it saying she could replace Posh apparently. It was probably either a tongue and cheek joke or done in hope she would post about it on insta to her zillion followers and thus promoting Mel's book in the process.
  18. It really is a great album. She seems to have ignored the orange vinyl release apart from the 1 post to announce it which is a shame.
  19. Because she agreed to turn up and her label or management probably had some leverage.
  20. I did but it is a bit wise to cherry pick where her closure comes when she did coinmaster adverts after. She got closure but that coinmaster cheque was still calling. Let's be honest coinmaster is a shit stain on their legacy because of when it happened. If it had been during or before a tour or big project like the Walkers crisps adverts in 2019 then fair enough. But when you cant commit yourself enough to the band to do anything worthwhile in 4 years but still take a cheque using the bands image for a silly phone game. Yeah that goes beyond tacky.
  21. She is coming across much better than I was expecting in the promo rounds. I think doing the US first was good for her as they are much more fun interviewers and it is less uptight and formal leading to Geri being the same. It is just a shame she is peddling a kids book, sigh.
  22. I tend to listen to LIM come winter time. It is one of the few solo albums I play as a whole as it is very cohesive and when in that winter mood snuggled in bed it hits the spot.
  23. Surely you mean coinmaster adverts were her closure or are we forgetting that?
  24. So you accept his post was rude if you say 'don't be rude back'. You know that post is antagonistic and yes I have risen to it because it is the second time in a few days. As I said do your job, or is Spiceboy passively aggressively taunting me just fine?
  25. That poster has a history of run ins and I have ask them time and again to leave me be. If you wanna do your job just warn them to leave me alone. They posted the exact same thing in another forum recently and I decided to leave it but this time not. I want there comment deleted and them to leave me alone.
