  1. Emma's album did in line with what all these heritage acts with a small but rabid fan base do. 1 week focused sales then plummet out the charts, same for Melanie C, Louise, Claire Richards, etc. The way the charts are now the only way to get anything beyond that is to get good streaming numbers which Emma and tbh most artists outside a select few fail to do. A few weeks ago the UK number 1 album fell out the top 200 completely the following week. Emma wasn't going to buck this trend.
  2. Emma's team know I'm sure that it isn't on streaming WW, it is just if they know how to sort the rights or care enough.
  3. There was more formats of Melanie C than My happy place I'm sure of it. My happy place was 2 cds, 1 vinyl, 2 cassettes. Mel (to her credit) also pushed harder for those first week sales. Those 2 gigs that you could add a dirt cheap cd too, that loads of artists do to get fans buying yet another copy, are a usual tactic to push a few more hundred copies these days. Iirc My happy place did do 3 weeks top 200 to Melanie C's 2. I wouldn't be at all surprised if they were on very similar totals in the UK somewhere between 15 to 20k.
  4. Ideally she would have released the album in mid November to avoid the big Christmas rush and have a longer run of xmas sales and weeks. TMTAT released late summer as the 1st single. Downtown 2nd single, the album the week after. AINTK 3rd single in Feb for valentines day with a tour in April that went on sale with the album in Nov.
  5. I think Victoria will get the silver cert at some point as it gets more streaming (thanks to being her only album thus all her streams and This is spice girls etc from it). LIM is pretty much forgotten and has no real hits bar Downtown. Frustrating both are so close though. They will I'm sure both be over 54k now.
  6. You also have to remember he had 5 individual girls, how he handled say Mel C would be very different to how he handled Mel B. The divide and conquer was probably more treating each girl differently to get more from them.
  7. Emma would be perfect for the pride/festival circuit. 9 top 20 hits, Maybe, WTYSL being big gay/pop anthems. 2 become 1 and Stop she can easily nail alone. Throw in a well known cover and she can easily fill a crowd pleasing 1 hour slot. Would no doubt help her streaming and flog a few copies of her old albums. I'm sure she would be a big name to some of these festivals and get big billing/star treatment.
  8. I listen to this more than pretty much most other solo albums. It just works as a body of work, where as most other solo albums I listen to the odd track at a time not the whole thing. Can we please all just download a copy and get it silver asap!
  9. Credit to Mel she has basically not let ITTY (and NBTSA) be forgotten. The continual touring, festivals, TV/radio promo slots and acoustic version have kept constantly reminding people of it. It is a shame bar the usual anniversary social media post that Emma and Geri don't do more to keep their bigger solo hits in the publics mind and ear.
  10. Yeah it still gets a bit of radio play. Surprised it has done such a big chunk of its total streams this last year.
  11. Her team just need to get it all on streaming properly. If the Spice Girls team can untangle Step to me and get it on streaming WW than Free Me can be done.
  12. This award is such a flop
  13. Emma without probably doing so purposefully has a nice spread of streams from several tracks off My happy place. The Will Yound duet is included in This is Will Young playlist. Jay mentioned about Come away with me playlisting, 2 become 1 surely benefits from Robbie and Baby please don't stop is always high up on her top 10, on This is Emma Bunton and her own personal best of playlist.
  14. Much better cover.
  15. Obviously the situation is awful but if this tour had been launched as a 5 piece S Club tour a lot of those tickets wouldn't have sold. The big selling point was it was all 7 original members who were going to give you a night reliving your youth. Now it is a 5 piece and will no doubt be tinged with sadness. The tour now is very much not as it started or was sold as. Obviously that has been out of people's control but I don't blame people if they would prefer a refund now and aren't wanting to go. Money is tight for a lot of people and a 5 piece tinged with sadness tpur might not seem worth the expense now. I know it is tragic why it has come to this but I doubt any tour promoter would have touched this tour with a barge pole had it started with only 5 members and that is where it is now.
  16. They really should just cancel this now, only 5 of them, awful circumstances it just isn't going to make for a fun and great tour.
  17. Given the amount of artists that will have 1B UK streams it would have been sensible to do a gradual cert system like singles and albums. 1B = Silver 3B = Gold 5B = Platinum Which leaves 10B Diamond for when that starts becoming needed (though you imagine Ed and maybe a couple of others might be over 10B already).
  18. I'd wager a lot of people weren't aware he had a brand new album out. Given he has had a constant stream of songs released since his last album they almost feel like one very long 'era'. Plus the coronation was obviously a massive thing taking most people's attention.
  19. They really are missing the boat waiting so long to release anything solo wise. I'd say the first single for any of them now would have to be an absolute undeniable hit to breakthrough now. I'm struggling to see any release not peaking 1st week and sliding rather quickly down the chart.
  20. Doing a voiceover is about as exciting as selling nappies to me.
  21. Spice girls streaming numbers are always very odd to me. I know they were a world wide act but their UK streams always seem so low compared to the overall totals on Spotify.
  22. What is depressing is the OCC list, unless I have missed something, Kate Bush and the Spice Girls are the only female only acts in the top 40. With Kate Bush being a complete fluke and was probably nowhere near the top 40 until Stranger Things used the song last year.
  23. Let's be honest Ed Sheeran could cure cancer and this forums usual lot would still hate him. He makes catchy songs and promotes them he is desperate for chart success and you hate him. He makes a more personal album, promotes it less and isn't looking for chart success and he is a flop and you hate him. Why not just have the usual poster post 'I hate Ed Sheeran and I'm biased against him' once a month and stop the normal BS of trying to dress it up as anything else.
  24. If Raye and Rita Ora already have it then it is a pointless award tbh. The bar is very low seemingly and there must be 100s of artists who qualify.
  25. Well this flopped harder than I even expected, you would have thought she had enough fans and curiosity streams to get it to chart at least. Her career is in the place already where the only chart success she might see is multi formats giving her a decent album position. So low and behold there is no album pre-order or even proper talk of one finished. She has two career paths right now, Louis Tomlinson or Liam Payne. Louis and his label realise his only real success will be multi format album releases and touring. Liam kept throwing shit at the wall hoping to get a hit and even ended up killing the fanbase he had off. I don't think Jesy has the self awareness to know a Louis career is her best bet and I expect her to keep releasing songs that do sod all till her small fanbase just gets so tired of it and move on.
