Hello! Welcome to the second edition of the Pop Forum Song Contest! Myself, Tim and Liam are delighted to once again bring back this new and fun way for all you lovers of pop music to share and discover songs that you may not have heard or realised existed. Before we start this contest, let us remind ourselves of the winner of the previous contest: In a similar nature to other song contests across the site, this will be similar to the real life Eurovision Song Contest. Each member will be asked to confirm a song in the link below which fits in with the theme of the contest. (This will be explained later on in this opening post.) Once the confirmation period closes, all the songs will be shuffled and put in a random running order. To keep things interesting, the names of the posters who sent the songs will be kept anonymous. When it comes to voting, the Eurovision 12 point system will be used +12 Points (your favourite) +10 +08 +07 +06 +05 +04 +03 +02 +01 I will take this time to remind you that you cannot vote for yourself. If you enter but fail to vote, you will receive a deduction from your overall score. Now, to make this more interesting, this month's theme will be Foreign Language Pop. We want to hear songs from all over the world. For instance, you can send a song that is sung Spanish, Italian, or even Gaelic - the choice is up to you! Of course, each track has to be perfectly pop and we will be vetoing any songs which sound as if they would be more suited to another genre forum's contest. The rules for what type of songs you can enter are below. 1. The song must not have reached the top 40 in the UK chart and not a massive hit in its country of origin 2. The Artist must not have an Artist Forum on Buzzjack 3. Any song that we feel is giving other songs an unfair advantage (eg, Sales) or somewhat fits the veto rules (popular on the forum) will still be vetoed 4. For this contest, we are intrigued by artists that are perhaps not known outside of their own country, however, if you have a song that fits the theme of the contest then feel free to send it. 6. An artist will only get one entry per contest, so first come first served 7. If you have heard a song that you loved in 'Buzzjack Song Contest' or 'Unknown Pleasures' feel free to enter it. BUT, make sure you have received permission from the poster who originally sent it and please don't send a song which finished high on the leaderboard as it will most likely be vetoed. 8. Songs can be bilingual Now, when you have your entry, please submit it HERE Confirmations will close on Sunday 22nd January. We really hope you guys continue to enjoy this contest! How would you define 'massive hit'? Because I have a song that I think was relatively successful but nowhere near as big as it should've been; it peaked at #19 in its chart of origin.

A massive hit would perhaps be something like the French version of a song by Christine and the Queens or Era Istrefi - Bonbon (which was huge in Europe and on the site). Try sending what you are thinking and we will let you know if it is a veto |

I'll find something for this, this is a great theme! Perhaps I'll see if I can send something not in Japanese (to avoid making myself hilariously obvious). Not making any promises though.

Hype! Thinking German here, I've got a few songs in mind but all of them aren't pop.

Sent in a song here, hope it does a little better than my song in the first one of these. (It probably helps that I actually like the song this time )
I like this theme anyway, looking forward to what people send to this x |
