Great to see Ben Howard still getting Radio 1 backing (he seems like the type that could suddenly be considered a Radio 2 artist at a moment's notice so happy that he is still R1 relevant for at least one more era), some pretty good adds from Moses Boyd and serpentwithfeet as well (the latter not an artist I expected to see pop up here )
Drake being added only on the C-List even with it being delayed a week seems a little uncharacteristic - I guess it's possibly in reaction to the song not being the instant huge #1 that it may have been expected to be(?) or perhaps to do with it technically just for now being the focus track of his EP rather than being promoted as a single from his album (though I'd be shocked if it wasn't included on the album like what happened with 'God's Plan'). Rather surprised at Silk Sonic still not being playlisted as well? R1 have shown plenty of support to Anderson .Paak before so I'd have expected them to be all over his most commercial release to date! Happy to see Cardi B making the A-List and Welshy surprisingly escaping C-List stalling! And great to see Shygirl on the Introducing spot as well, not my favourite song from her but I'll take any appearance. |

Great to see Maisie added! Also surprised but happy to see Jorja B-listed already.

All from memory sadly, I followed them most weeks from mid-2000 to sometime in 2003. So did I but couldnt remember that about Wheatus, pretty ridiculous like considering their two biggest hits were only C-B Listed. And 'Teenage Dirtbag' is consider a classic of that new wave metal sort genre from the era. |

Well like bands of the same vain of the time like Blink 182 and Sum 41 and the likes, whatever you call them!

Yep... then their follow-up (A Little Respect) was B-listed and the one after that (Leroy) was A-listed, with their chart returns going the other way, naturally I forgot they covered that Erasure song. Listened to their cover again and it's a good cover I think. |

Nice memory you have! Guess it stuck in my mind as if those later singles were getting the plays they thought Teenage Dirtbag deserved. Do you have how long Whole Again spent on the C-list? |

"Whole Again" spent 4 weeks on the C-list. They preferred hammering Sugababes' "Run For Cover" which got A-listed instead. Can't complain since I love that song. |

Suppose Sugababes were always the more urban and cool pop band compared to Atomic Kitten!

They made a lot better songs though looking back, ‘Whole Again’ being by far their best song. Strange it was only c-listed considering it was a 4 week chart topper!

Some Tunes of the Week:
Greg James: Jorja Smith - Addicted Clara Amfo: Remi Wolf & Dominic Fike - Photo ID Nick Grimshaw: Origin8a & Propa - Harmony (feat. Benny Page) I don't know Scott's as I don't listen to his show, and I can't tell from the tracklist on the BBC Sounds app. |
