Do what u want and what about us are both amazing

Move is one of my favourite girlband songs this decade, it is just so catchy and amazing

 Mine too re: 'Move'. The crazy thing about that is that I really disliked it at first and didn't listen to it again for at least 2 weeks after it premiered! It eventually worked its magic on me and I felt ashamed that I had ever not loved it! :o

Thank you for replying! :D

Albums: Commiserations

There are quite a few 2014 released albums which I own but haven't actually got around to hearing yet. I've recently bought some of them via Google Play 99p deals, otherwise some of them are CDs that I got for Christmas. Those unfortunate albums which I've not even heard yet are:

Ed Sheeran - x / Jessie Ware - Tough Love / Lana Del Rey - Ultraviolence / Sia - 1000 Forms Of Fear / The Script - No Sound Without Silence / The Vamps - Meet The Vamps / Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga - Cheek To Cheek / Union J - You Got It All / 5 Seconds of Summer - 5 Seconds of Summer

... so I've got a lot of listening to do! I wonder if any of those are strong enough to have perhaps made my Top 10, had I heard them in time? Tony Bennett & Lady Gaga robbed?! Maybe some of you could recommend which ones I should prioritise!

--------------------------------------------------

There were 17 albums in contention for my Top 10. The unlucky 7 albums not to have made my EOY Top 10 Albums are:

Calvin Harris - Motion

George Ezra - Wanted On Voyage

Jennifer Lopez - A.K.A.

Katy B - Little Red

Olly Murs - Never Been Better

Sam Smith - In The Lonely Hour

Take That - III

I actually liked all of the above albums, but there's a couple that I'm less familiar with (I only got around to hearing Sam Smith's & Calvin Harris' albums a few days ago). The others have a bit too much filler in the mix which lets them down - the albums particularly guilty of this are the ones by Jennifer Lopez, Take That & Olly Murs. George Ezra's album was ok, quite an easy listen but not many stand outs beyond the singles - I struggled a bit to pick two highlights (see below). Katy B's 'Little Red' probably came the closest to making my Top 10.

There are of course some great songs to be found on each album! My highlight album tracks (disregarding the singles) are:

'Pray To God' and 'Dollar Signs' from 'Motion'

''Stand By Your Gun' and 'Breakaway' from 'Wanted On Voyage'

'Tens' and 'Expertease (Ready Set Go)' from 'A.K.A.'

'Everything' and 'Emotions' from 'Little Red'

'Hope You Got What You Came For' and 'History' from 'Never Been Better'

'Good Thing' and 'Leave Your Lover' from 'In The Lonely Hour'

'Let In The Sun' and 'Higher Than Higher' from 'III'

... if you've heard any of these albums, let me know what your favourite tracks from them are!

I've stalked you on Last.Fm recently Jay - so I bet I can guess which songs will be top 5 :P

Philip George makes my EOY Top 200 despite only having two weeks worth of points contributing to the year. There's no doubt that 'Wish You Were Mine' will feature a lot higher than this in my EOY 2015! Definitely one of the best dance songs of the year, managing to capture the essence of 90s dance/house a lot better than most. I look forward to hearing more from him in the coming year.

'F For You' only managed a peak of #21 back in 2013, but a reworking with additional vocals from Mary J. Blige saw Disclosure score their 5th Top 20 hit in my chart. Their most successful hit is 'White Noise', which managed to reach #3. Their debut album 'Settle' was one of my favourites from 2013, so I'm really anticipating their forthcoming releases!

A couple of Paloma Faith singles feature in this section. Both of them were flops in the UK charts, unfortunately, but they managed to make the Top 20 in my chart at least! (I'm sure Paloma would be relieved to know this x). Three Paloma songs will feature a lot higher up my EOY, but which one will be the highest?
