Girls Aloud - Tangled Up
Girls AloudTangled Up - Girls AloudThe official Girls Aloud online store. Shop exclusive Girls Aloud music. Here we go! There's also some merch this time, which was lacking for Chemistry. Seems like they've produced more sticker sheets this time, there's no mention in the mailer that they're limited to a certain amount, it's just while stocks last. Closer look at the picture disc: While I'm glad that the picture disc has used the 'fan edition' artwork for it (as well as a Call the Shots image *.* ), I do think it's a missed opportunity to not have a normal vinyl sleeve with the fan edition art. Some fans much prefer that cover to the standard art, so not providing that choice is a slight shame. Merch includes a 'tangled up' hairbrush

I did! Ordered mine from HMV. A little pricier than the official store, but with HMV I can spread the payment out over 3 months. Looking forward to receiving them!

Calum ranks 100 Kylie Minogue singles (1987-2026)
Happy to see 'Right Here, Right Now' so high! What a banger... one which I haven't heard it for a while, I must rectify that. 'What Kind of Fool' is enjoyable and if I was to rank her PWL era singles it would be closer to the top than the bottom! For a Greatest Hits release, it was a perfect song to sum up the sound that started everything off for her. I suppose I can understand why by 1992 she wasn't happy with this sound though. 'Tension' and 'Slow' are amongst her very best

Spice Girls & Solo - Expectations and Wants for 2026
It depends on the country, Only Murders in the Building is shown through Disney+ in the UK at least! I enjoy OMITB and I’m up to date on it, so it’s a bonus that Geri’s a part of it. I’m very intrigued by what her character will be like in it and what her acting is like these days. I wonder if she had to audition or somehow prove she was up to the job? OMITB often has some big names in the show, sometimes playing themselves but sometimes a fictitious character. I’ve certainly supported them musically. I purchased a lot of Sweat formats, pretty begrudgingly I bought the Hot vinyl (which I haven’t looked at again since the day it arrived lol ) and I preordered the Tiny Vinyl copies. I happen to like Funko Pops so I’m waiting to be able to own the Spice Girls one! Otherwise the merch just isn’t doing it for me. The coins could have looked a hell of a lot better and I’m fine with not owning anything from that collection until/if they’re reduced in price. Somehow their t shirts become more uninspired as the years pass, these Wannabe 30 ones are a new low! I have no interest in their reality TV show judging stints or podcasts. 😔 I’ve seen the odd clip of Emma’s podcast and… while I will always have love for the Bunton, it’s so boring. Happy for her and the others if it’s been a success though.

Spice Girls Merch & Partnerships - General Discussion (Funko Pop officially announced: 8th July release)
These still aren’t available for preorder in the UK 🤔 How odd to officially announce them weeks ago but not let anyone buy while the attention is there. Not sure if the preorder is up anywhere else in the world.

Wannabe 30 - Tiny Vinyl
The UK singles chart is only a Top 100 in recent years, and it takes quite a bit over 5000 sales to make it inside! Wannabe is on “ACR” (accelerated chart ratio - meaning that for weekly chart purposes, its streaming units would be halved). At one point it was selling approaching 3500 units a week. Although those sales contribute fully to its running sales total, in weekly chart terms those sales would be halved to 1750. Roughly speaking it’s possible this would mean that they’d need to sell 3500 tiny vinyl to have a shot at re-entering the Top 100. I can't imagine anywhere near that many have been produced. Maybe we’ll see it appear in the midweeks… but I think it would be highly unlikely to make the final chart. I’m not sure if this is the case but I think Wannabe is possibly the first 4” vinyl to be put on sale for the UK market? A lot of different artist tiny vinyl releases have been put on sale in the US in the last couple of years, but I’ve not been aware of it here in the UK. I would be surprised if their format catches on long term. To me, one of the major selling points of a 7”/10”/12” vinyl is that they have larger artwork than a CD or cassette. Tiny vinyl takes the size to less than a CD. I’ve also not read particularly great things about the audio quality of tiny vinyl. It seems very gimmicky. Perhaps they’re more practical for storage, or simply to be treated as merchandise you just look at and don’t intend to play. The price point being £12.99 on the Spice Girls official store, and £14.99 on hmv - but both becoming around £18 when postage costs are added - is pretty extreme for its small size. That puts it in line with the cost of 7” in recent times. I ordered them because I’m a sucker for collecting Spice Girls stuff and this is certainly a novelty - I’ve never owned anything on this format before! I’d be very surprised if I buy many more of them if the labels try to make them a widespread thing in the UK. I suppose it’s cool that the Spice Girls are perhaps the first to bring this format here. The rumours of more releases, including a box set of singles… I would be a little disappointed if it’s all done on tiny vinyl. A collection of 7” singles would be a lot nicer! I also fear what the price of an 11 singles box set would cost if they’re charging £12.99 for just one by itself! £150 perhaps?!
