I wasn't sure where to post this! It's not really to do with the singles box set, but anyway - New digital EPs of Say You'll Be There, 2 Become 1 and Mama/Who Do You Think You Are have been released today! It's also the 30th anniversary of Say You'll Be There's release today. The track lists match what will be included on the CDs in the box set. New to download/streaming: Say You'll Be There Single Edit Junior's X Beats Kurt's Dub Karaoke Version 2 Become 1 Seremos 1 Los 2 - Versión En Español Instrumental Karaoke Version Mama Instrumental Karaoke Version Who Do You Think You Are Morales Bonus Mix Karaoke Version (although its sharing the play count of the Radio Version - everything else listed above has no play count data yet) Unlike the Wannabe EP released back in July, these three new EPs have not been backdated to 1996/1997. Currently they're showing up as new 2026 releases with release dates of 14th October. Whether their team will eventually backdate them remains to be seen. Having them show up as new releases is a good thing for visibility, which the Wannabe EP didn't really get from immediately behaving as a 1996 release at the bottom of their Spotify page. The same goes on Apple Music in regards to Wannabe set to 1996 and the three new releases being 2026. Also on Apple Music, all four of these EPs are appearing in their Albums section, not Singles section. On Spotify, the original digital releases of both Say You'll Be There and 2 Become 1 are now hidden away from their page. Clicking the drop down "x more release(s)" on desktop Spotify is the place to find the old versions. The same goes for Mama / Who Do You Think You Are. However, the separate and original release of Who Do You Think You Are / Mama is currently still accessible through their single page, presumably because that particular release has technically not been replaced in terms of title. I assume this also means that the Holler remix EP will remain accessible just like WDYTYA/M, but the Holler/Let Love Lead the Way release currently available will eventually get replaced by an expanded version. If their team doesn't make amendments to the release dates, they're going to end up out of order in terms of original release dates! That's already the case with these new three releases: Gosh I wrote more than I intended to lol, anyway here are the Spotify embeds. EDIT: Oh I have omre to write xx The play counts on Spotify of the newly released Wannabe mixes are quite low... But like I wrote earlier, that's probably not helped by not being displayed as a new release at the time. It'll be interesting if the three releases today will get better streams. Trust their team to somewhat bury the Wannabe EP on Spotify. P.S. A bit odd that the Wannabe Instrumental has a play count of 4,525. Instrumental was always available in the digital era. Navigating to the previous version of the Wannabe EP and the Instrumental included on that shows a play count of 695,161. So for some reason Spotify considers them to be different audio.

Boys Don’t Cry is my favourite single from Tom’s last album, so that’s a good choice for my tastes! In fact it’s my second highest scrobbled Tom Grennan song (behind Little Bit of Love). Obsessed with the Calvin Harris/Sam Smith song grabbing war.

Starting off by saying that 'Dollar Signs' is one I already knew before this and I like it a lot - it's a nostalgic sound for me. Therefore I've put it on top. However I personally feel that sending a song that is 100% vocally by an American female singer is perhaps not totally in the spirit of being a part of the European/Solo Male category. I get that it's a loophole/not against the rules - and that it's obviously produced by Calvin Harris with him credited as the lead artist. I personally would prefer to see his mentor sending songs that either Calvin himself sings on, or the songs that feature European male artists. That's purely my opinion though and obviously it is their mentor's choice completely to send the songs they want to in order to progress. I will say that there's a considerable number of his female features songs that I happen to love... and in all likelihood would be inclined to give top points to... but I would reward him for these particular songs with a bit of a raised eyebrow. Food for thought! 02/03 HRVY and Darin both brought the bangers, fabulous discoveries! 04 That's a great song from Sam Smith. I hadn't heard anything from the album this is from beyond the first couple of singles from it. 05/06/07/08 - All of these I found to be enjoyable so it was a little hard to decide on the order. I think that's one of the most immediate/best Lewis Capaldi songs I've heard! 09/10 - I want to stress that both of these are very nice songs, but unfortunately a case of something has to wind up as the bottom 2. 'Amie' possibly edges '9 Crimes' as my favourite song sent by Damien Rice so far, but alas I preferred everything else. 🙁

A shame that it's not on streaming. 02 It's been 10 years since I've listened to the majority of Years & Years - 'Communion'. 'Ties' is a really solid pick from it! 03 I think this contest is slowly but surely getting me into Sade, an artist I've never really given attention to before. Very classy and nice to listen to. 04 Quite a bop from Bananarama, and I totally get the comparison to Madonna - Holiday. 05 iamamiwhoami is another discovery for me thanks to The Pop Factor. I'm liking what has been sent from them so far. 06 For my personal tastes, this is way more like it from Fontaines D.C. - looking forward to hearing more. 07 Catchy song from Depeche Mode, possibly my favourite that I've heard by them in this contest. 08 M83's entry was lovely to listen to for a little less than half of the run time, but my attention drifted as it went on. 09-10 Ultravox and New Order are not so much my cup of tea this week, not bad by any means though, and I'm always interested to hear more and see if something else clicks. I already know and like the two obvious songs from them - Vienna and Blue Monday!

8,473 copies in its first week on sale, increasing to a total of 21,509 by August 2019. Being released in 2011, this was many years before these sort of sales would be considered to be ok-ish!
