3 years!! I must admit that I was more fond of it at the time than I am now, it was my favourite on 'thank u, next' - now that is 'ghostin', but still a banger and so huge for her.

Around this time I was starting a brand new job role and was feeling daunted so the whole era was a massive comfort *.* time has just zoomed since then, would not have believed that 3 years later I was working from home most of the time :lol: and that Ariana had been a coach on The Voice lmao.

Oh wow :o I don't think '7 rings' has aged massively well already compared to a lot of 'thank u, next' but I was obsessed at the time.

Today marks 5 years since this was released :o happy birthday, '7 rings'! What a smash it was.

This still feels really recent to me! Doesn’t at all feel like five years since this!

 

I’ve always liked it for what it is. It doesn’t necessarily have a huge vocal moment what I tend to love from her but it’s joyous, fun, not necessarily to be taken seriously and I think a song like this probably really helped at her at the time of release when she was experiencing what she was experiencing.

 

I probably prefer a chunk of the album tracks of the thank u, next era to the singles though but can definitely also see why she chose those tracks to be the singles (and they all become UK #1s so she chose well).

I think my pre-Covid job situation feeling like a lifetime ago has a knock on effect for my perception of time towards this era, as I heavily associate the two :lol:

 

I was obsessed with this song at the time but I'm not as fond of the trap sound now. I think 'ghostin' will be the most evergreen track from the album for me <3
