Because he can dictate himself whether he chooses to write any more episodes, and in his eyes he won’t? laugh.gif

I personally believe it’s because he’ll be showrunner/a main writer for one of the upcoming spin-offs. Seems the only reasonable explanation for him needing to know what happens in the series 15 finale.

Are the spin off with Jo Martin and the one with Tennant and Catherine happening??

Not sure!

The only official indication we've had of any of the spin-offs is a production company for 'The War Between Land and Sea' being set up (re the rumoured Sea Devils spin-off).

Seems a tad pointless given everyone will have already seen The Legend of Ruby Sunday, and going into the finale at the same time you could be watching it on iPlayer at home without the noise of anybody else in a cinema laugh.gif

Boom gets 3.578m after 7 day consolidation and sits at 18th place on the weekly chart. That's the 2nd lowest rating for a New Series episode behind Legend of the Sea Devils on 3.47m. Given this was an episode that was trailed as possibly doing better on catch up by word of mouth due to it being a better episode that's an interesting viewing figure.

Will reserve my overall judgements for the end of the series as there's still a chance viewing figures could pick up.

Also a chance that in the end none of it really matters because the global outreach of the series far outweighs viewing figures for one channel in the UK.

Im absolutely amazed that someone who has said they won’t watch the new episodes until they finish their old run is posting so obsessively about viewing figures.

Interesting to note too if we're going to pay so much attention to ratings, that for every consolidated figure in the series so far, the additional numbers have actually increased week-on-week. Space Babies started with an increase of 1.46m from overnight to consolidated, The Devil's Chord 1.49m and Boom 1.54m.
