New entries may come from Ariana Grande and maybe the odd Christmas favourite!

=========================================================================

ALBUMS:

The Greatest Showman looks like being the biggest album this Christmas!

George Ezra and Michael Buble could complete the top 3

Have a chat and enjoy the chart as it unfolds here between 4 and 5.45 biggrin.gif

Aah, 20 years since the last Spice Girls number one at Christmas. That chart is here in full on Mixcloud if you want some festive listening later: https://www.mixcloud.com/1869300/uk-top-40-...-december-1998/

I still can't quite believe that Denise Van Outen and Johnny Vaughan did the Kylie and Jason parody. I know it was for Children In Need but it was totally bizarre. Strange to think though that Jane McDonald (who was new at #10) has actually had a resurgence in popularity this year!

Those 2003 and 1998 charts are absolute classics. I particularly have fond memories of listening to the 1998 one.

Ten years since Hallelujah! The Jeff Buckley version goes on my Christmas playlist every year, it's beautiful. heart.gif The Alexandra Burke version, not so much.

The Darkness have held up rather well over the past 15 years too, and of course five years since Leona Lewis became the Queen of Christmas! Her to out-do last year's #19 position tonight please.

Amazing how Chef was so close to beating Spice Girls that week, what a chart upset that would've been! (and of course he did overtake the following week)

I can see LadBaby just about taking it with his last minute push, I bet it'll be real close though. If anyone has a list of closest races that'd be interesting to see (and this year's could very well be high on that list)

Is that 68k in 1998 close to the highest ever for a #10? That's pretty insane!

Listening to the chart for the first time in months as work closed early today... Hoping Ava Max is #1 but expecting Ladbaby sad.gif
