Forgot to include this for the 25th April edition:

2009- La Roux- In For The Kill

'In For The Kill' was the second single from La Roux's self-titled debut album. This would go on and peak at #2 in the UK, this would come 21st in my Top 100 of the 00s, this is what I said about 'In For The Kill'

QUOTE
It puzzles me to the day why this didn't get to #1. Fantastic song this from La Roux. The daughter of "The Bill" actress Trudie Goodwin.

This was probably the most played song of 2009 that I listened to. I couldn't tire of this from La Roux although it is one that I haven't heard for a while. The Skream Remix for this is legendary.

This Week:

2002- Idlewild- You Held The World In Your Arms

'You Held The World In Your Arms' was the first single from Idlewild's third studio album 'The Remote Part'. This would go on and peak at #9 in the UK. I remember this song particularly for it being in the soundtrack of FIFA 2003.

FIFA:

2003- David Sneddon- Don't Let Go

'Don't Let Go' was the second single from Fame Academy winner David Sneddon's debut album 'Seven Years- Ten Weeks'. This would go on and peak at #3 in the UK. This is one that I haven't heard for a long time, at the time I can remember that I was a fan of this from him, I much preferred this to 'Stop Living the Lie'. Probably in the minority on here for liking this.

2003- Busted- You Said No

'You Said No' was the third single from Busted's self-titled debut album. This would go on and become Busted's first UK #1, what was unique was Busted became the first act to have their first three singles to enter the top three in ascending order. Again this was one that I can remember that most people in my class very much liked this song.

This Week:

2005- KT Tunstall- Other Side of The World

'Other Side of The World' was the second single from KT Tunstall's debut album 'Eye to the Telescope'. This would go on and peak at #13 in the UK, it would stay in the Top 40 for five weeks. I can remember being a bit gutted at the time that this didn't chart higher for her.

2005- The Killers- Smile Like You Mean It

'Smile Like You Mean It' was the fourth single from The Killers' debut album 'Hot Fuss'. This would go on and peak at #11 in the UK, this was one I definitely listened to when this came out.

2005- Kelly Osbourne- One Word

'One Word' was the first and only single from Kelly Osbourne's second studio album 'Sleeping In the Nothing'. This would go on and peak at #9 in the UK, I think this sounded very similar to 'Fade To Grey' by Visage. One that I haven't heard for a while.

This Week:

2000- Southside Spinners- Luvstruck

'Luvstruck' was from a Dutch DJs Southside Spinners, this originally was released in July 1999 in the UK where it would peak at #85, however this would be re-released ten months later mainly thanks to this being used in the soundtrack of the film Kevin & Perry Go Large, where it would peak at #9 in the UK. Probably not one that I was familiar with at the time when this was released, but discovered this thanks to seeing Kevin & Perry Go Large, I very much prefer this to the film, sorry to anyone who is fan of the film Kevin & Perry Go Large.

Music video with Kevin & Perry

2001- A-Teens- Upside Down

'Upside Down' was the first single from Swedish band A*Teens' second album 'Teen Spirit'. This would go on and peak at #10 in the UK which would become the biggest hit that they ever had in the UK, I believe this was an ABBA tribute group. Can't say that I remember hearing this back then, this is all right from them.

2009- Pink- Please Don't Leave Me

'Please Don't Leave Me' was the third single from Pink's fifth studio album 'Funhouse'. This would go on and peak at #12 in the UK, in the US this would peak at #17 in the Billboard Hot 100. This was seemed to be everywhere on the music channels when this came out, the particular music video being a sort of ode to 'Misery'.
